I saw a few comments that if you watch closely you will see that the ML isn’t shooting the FL. But I rewatched and rewatched (Viki, ep21 04:31) and still see the same. He takes an arrow, shoots her in the back (meanwhile you see him at the background taking another arrow). As she turns he is surprised it’s her. I can’t see anyone else. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t ofcourse. My take is that it’s his job to eliminate the attacker and he doesn’t know it’s her. I guess we have to wait and see….

My take on the shooting in previous life. What do you think?

I really don’t see the same behaviour between FL and her ex. She kissed the guy and then says to him she is’nt ready for a relationship. That isn’t toxic in my book. The ex is. And ML is a simp? I don’t think you like any of the characters?

FL is damaged en conflicted. Being treated like she was at the end of 7 year relationship left her scarred en afraid. Imagine giving up studying abroad for him, staying home and being committed in a long distance relationship. Then after he comes back he treats her like sh*t, breaks up over text and ghosts her. She keeps hearing his voice saying that she is selfish and not likeable anymore.

She likes and falls for ML. Ofcourse, what is not to like( I think most of us agree on that). But she’s afraid. She doesn’t want the same ending. She feels that she isn’t good enough. But she still likes him. And wants to kiss him. And we get to see that 😄.
In my book that’s not leading him on but being human and not perfect. And the next morning the ‘rational’ thoughts and the voice in het head take over: it’s better for her and for him to be friends when she wil leave in a few months. Ok, she should have said that with more words then she did.

Someone wrote that 2FL was right to speak tot the FL the way she did. And that the ML was to harsh on her. I don’t agree. He hasn’t said anything to the 2FL about her interfering in his private matters. I think he had every right to say: mind your own business! But he didn’t an acted solely on her crush on him. Wich was just apparent for him after she spoke to the FL.

Unpopulair opinion I guess. But I don’t hate or dislike the FL. I think she is human.

For me it’s the difference of telling a story in +/- 1800 minutes or in +/- 1000 minutes….

Spoiler GA: Mother is legally divorced and married a rich man and lives in an other country (Singapore). Years go by without contact, only the grandmother (like in FBC) contact ML. Later mother ‘regres ’ abandoning the ML (more like envy that he is happy). ML half sister was used by mother to wiggle back in his life. Mother is super egocentric and manipulative. Later she and her new husband get into a car accident. The husband dies and the mother is seriously injured. ML goes to Singapore to take care of sister and mother. Mother manipulates him so he can’t leave. Real dark storyline in GA.

I think it’s really personal. The overall story line is the same (first 2 eps). So ofcourse you will be reminded of GA. I try to watch it as an adaptation of the storyline and not a carbon copy. Seeing and discovering but not judging the differences makes me enjoy it. Give it a try. You can always drop it.

This is my take on it. In Go Ahead there were a lot more episodes to subtle show that the oldest ML had romantic feelings for the FL. For me it was not allowing her to sleep on his bed anymore. In a way he subtle makes clear we are not real siblings. You can’t love and marry your sister. To me thats exactly why the Korean ML said they are not family. The first hint to romance. And because of the lenght of this serie much more direct.

For me the greatest differences are:
Oldest brother doesn’t feel as heavy emotional burdend. His character feels lighter.
Both ML’s are super populair at school and that has an effect on FL.
FL is not as spunky and more girlish. Father of oldest brother doesn’t feel as absent.

Don’t compare or compare with and open mind. This is a adaptation not a remake. The lenght of the series, cultural differences and choices by writers am director will make this serie really different. Spoilers from the first 2 episodes ahead in case you are interested.

Your so right, that song is a masterpiece! I’ve got a 8 hours playlist of OST songs (C and K) with only the songs I liked in the drama’s I wachted. When the theme song of Go Ahead is played it always brings back this heavy dark emotions of Song Wei Long in Go Ahead. I think this Korean adaptation will not have that same emotions because of cultural differences, lenght of the series and choices made by writers and directors. The theme song difference is a conformation for me that this drama will not be as heavy. And thats ok, I’m enjoying it on it’s own. The love triangle in Go Ahead was super light. To me it felt more that the younger brother wanted to marry the sister in a way to secure the family bond. The love of the older brother was much more deep. You can see hints of it in the first 2 episodes of this drama. Let me know if you want me to spoiler ;-).
