So I’m up to speed and really enjoying this one! Waiting will be torture… Some of my takes with a spoiler tag.

Tell me more! I’m really struggeling because I want to like 2ML (not love, like) because FL likes him. But he’s really hard to like when he thinks of her as unmotivated, lazy and spoiler rotten (ep 4). So harsh! But at the same time he looks at her with affectionate eyes and then I can’t really hate him either…

The grandparents are his late wife’s parents. He has a mother who is alive. In earlier eps FL was asked about his parents (by Lili Jie or bestie, can’t remember). FL reaction is that ML will tell in his own time. At the end the car scene felt for me like: this is a storyline we put out there and needs wrapping up.

This isn’t worthy to be called a remake. It isn’t even an adaptation. They stole some great ideas and made them in something terrible. Totally agree that this is unwatchable (and yet I watched it 🫣😂🙃😬).

Yes, why? Grandparents were really prominent and then *POOF* gone. For ML and kids as SIL as well. Bad writing or bad editing?

I don’t have much left to say. These 2 eps where slow and warp speed at the same time. A lot of drama with SIL and master that just end there at his grave. The MIL and especially the FIL who were really prominent in earlier eps nowhere to be seen. Not even in the too long but too short ending scene.

Again most screentime for Ex and Mistress. Divorce, scammers, plotting the kidnapping. We see al lot of slow scene with the ex. Him waiting, him lying in bed. Sooo slow and so much time wasted that could have shown the story of the leads. And after all that drama we don’t really no what happens to them. Only that ex mother dies and Ex lost apartment.

Story had potential at first (because stolen from K-drama) but didn’t deliver AT ALL.

I remember the beginning of FE wasn’t really good. There is a scene in the bakery with ex, mistress, FL and ML that was really cringe. But it does get better. I really liked the story of the romance and then the merging of the families. The first set-up eps you have to get through. I also really liked the storyline of the sister and the golfer. SIL was ok, not my favorite but she got good character development.

I get it, it’s long. For me it works because I’m watching such a long drama differently. Each day I end the day with an episode sometimes less, sometimes more. It’s a way to relax and unwind. I don’t binge. This way I’m really feeling the show and the characters. But after weeks enjoying this show it was hard to say goodbye!

Noooooo! Don’t tell me people will actually pay good money to see this advanced. It’s almost a crime that dare to ask money for this….

You’re so right. This couldn’t be more wrong. I was waiting for show to redeem itself but here we are almost at the end and I’ve lost all hope. If you haven’t watched Five Enough I can highly recommend it so you can see how this show was supposed to be.

I can’t wrap my brain around this either. If you’re looking for merging of two families I can recommend Five Enough. It’s Korean, some 50 eps and available on YouTube with English subtitles.

I’m determined to see this through. But how am I keeping myself engaged? Today I watched with my stopwatch ready. Goal: to time the interaction between the leads to report to you all. Funny story! In almost 42 minutes no and I mean NO live interaction AT ALL!! One quick text, one quick phone call at that was it. With to eps to go it safe to say we don’t get to see the merger of the two families. That, and their love story, brought me to this show. Shame I didn’t get either…

Bestie is of to honeymoon, good riddens! Hope she stays away.

SIL isn’t even aware master died. Realy unbelievable nobody let her know. There is to little time to make this in to a storyline. The only short storyline I can think of is that is pushes her over the edge. Too little time for healing. What is the purpose writers?

Ok scammers are scamming ex now. He is that dumb? Of does the scam drive him to kidnap son abroad? The way his mother agreed with him on the kidnapping plan and saying his only wrong is for him to be to kind just blew my mind. I’m not a violent person and I’m happy if they are life a miserable life somewhere but in this show I’m ready for her to die.

And what’s with the FL meeting the Ex mistress bestie?

I really don’t understand any plotline show is giving us. But I really gonna miss this comment section!

Trainwreck ep 28. Shout out to all still watching show with me!

I already forgot when it went downhill 🤣so I take your word for it. For me the scene that comes to mind was the fake kissing in the car. Don’t get me wrong if show/actors purposely avoid real kisses so be it. I find it weak for romance based drama but I get the sentiment (married leads/older conservative viewers). But please, please, please don’t do the fake kisses or worse the comedy around the ‘intimate’ moments. That makes the romance really unbelievable! From the fake kiss moment I was really hoping it would redeem itself but sadly not (yet?).

Looks like Chinese society doesn’t see it as rape (WICH IT IS). So maybe (lack of) reaction from uncle, aunt and mom were spot on with current society.

Why would you butcher a drama like that?

I checked again but ex and mistress are really registered as support role. Then why o why have we go set trough their boring story? The way the romanticized the divorce was so weird! I realize I use this word al lot when it comes to this show but it is the most fitting. The dance in the park as if we are ending a great love story and not a toxi, violent cheating train wreck.
Story SIL is still boring even when het masters collapsed and there was no follow up I didn’t mind. Bestie wasn’t present this ep, didn’t miss her at all!

Screentime main couple:
Beginning show couple of minutes (seconds maybe).
Two times on the balcony with the basket.
Accidentally bumping into each other in the hallway (with 4 kids and Lili Jie).
And that’s it people. Hope they get an hefty paycheck for showing up. Even the scammers get more screentime! What are writers/directors thinking?

I’m really coming to dislike the FL. To me it’s like she is selling her son. I’m all for parental rights and involving both parents. But in this case it is not in the best interest of BOTH children to be in much (let alone) unsupervised contact with dad and grandma. Why is she doing this? Maybe I’m just not getting it? Can anyone explain?
