After watching the first two episodes I've gathered that this is simply one of those cheap cheesy costume dramas that you have to turn your brain off to actually enjoy (which is usually fine because there good fodder between heavy dramas). The thing that bugs me and makes it impossible for me to continue, is the "comedy" they try and force upon us with the silly sounds and gags thrown throughout the scenes are simply not funny. And I think the writer(s) did the drama a disservice by relying just on that.

Also the ML comes across as a complete idiot and for him to be a magistrate is just overall ridiculous. I also wish they would have integrated the FL being thrown into a fictional story better. It's a mess. I've watched short dramas with a better interlude into fictional stories.

Are you forgetting Goblin? ??One of the biggest Kdramas ever. It broke so many records.

He's really handsome and doesn't look like he's in his 40's. I would love to see him as the first male lead in a drama. He can continue to be a villain because he's amazing at, I just want him as the leading man.

Episode 29 & 30 were very boring to me. I usually speed through the episodes but I took a lot longer to finish these two.

All the top/traffic stars (or ones gaining popularity) get awards (almost like that's there way for them to come to Weibo Night). In a nutshell it's a popularity awards show.

I smiled these last two episodes. Simu and Xinnian we're so cute together. I want Princess Lin An to have more screen time. I know this is a male-centric drama but we're lucky if she's even on the screen for five minutes. 😭The reuinon between her and Qi An should have been longer.

Anyone else find it weird that the FL wasn't at Xu Qi An's funeral? There are messenger pigeons that could have told her something happened to him while she's traveling (if she couldn't make it). I would have liked to see her reaction.

10/10 it reminded me of the American investigation shows I use to watch (Castle, Criminal Minds, Bones, Law & Order...) because of the formulation of a new case in almost every episode.

Honest opinion: The first part is amazing but the second part is so lackluster in comparison that I regret watching it because it diminished my love for this drama in general. The romance is good in the first part but the second part is boring and predictable.

I'm not here to persuade you. We both watched the drama and have a different take on how we view the FL.

Xianxia and Xuanhuan are always tagged under Wuxia. This is not a Wuxia.

It was a decent drama and I don't regret watching it because the investigation parts where the most interesting. But if there's a second season I won't be tuning in. I can't stand Mo Er and the FL lost me during the last half. As a big sister myself I hated how dirty she did her brother.

I came to the comment section about to vent about this! She's such a crappy sister I actually rated this drama lower because of it.

Second part was not good at all but I will give credit to Tan Jian Ci. He acted his butt off and I ended up loving his character the most (who would have thought because I remember loving Jing so much when I watched the first part of this drama a year ago).

I hope and pray that mango does their big one and gives us some good subs for this drama.

Bai Jing Ting and Zhang Wan Yi as support leads....welp, I don't see this drama ever coming to fruition. If this had been filmed when it had first announced, that would have been another story because the FL's were more popular than them but not anymore. BJT and ZWY have made big names for themselves.

I feel like 2025 is going to be her year.
