To the Audience that was disappointed with season 2,
The drama we love now has reached mid of season and it is safe to say that at least to this point, they doing exceptionally well.
Some may love season 1 more, including me when I watch other series, I do often favour the first season more than the latter.
It's rare for me to be satisfied with both seasons of a series. But when I watched Joy of Life 2 realisation came to my mind that I enjoyed and approached the S2 with a different attitude from the S1.
In S1, we or at least I, were caught off guard by how well-written and well-cast this drama is. We dig it in with almost zero knowledge about the story. So naturally the plot twist here and there thrilled our dopamine to its maximum excitement.
But in S2, we knew, we learned, we were familiar, and some even read the novel already.
It's harder to fulfil my parents' expectations than to surprise them with unseen achievements. I tried not to be the kind of parent that undermined my kids' hard work. Thus far, I've seen the production team have done their best and even better to present us with some Joy in this boring life (or maybe only my life that is quite boring π ) and I want to at least respect and appreciate them for their hard work. Because at least, they didn't turn this drama into a crappy 45 episodes of trash sold for advertisement
Like didn't FX's mom said through her letter in S1 that their world was created after the Earth Sixth Extinction and the old world was buried underneath. Do people forget there's a hint taste of Sci-Fi in JoL π
Just go watch some action drama then, this one require brain action to work
"I feel like this drama is getting boring. There are too many long dialogues in the drama, *there should be more action that will increase the interest in the plot*"

After hearing that he also want to complain about the emperor. I understood it was the end for Mr. Complaints.…
Honestly, bravery without boundary is plain idiocy. Would we say the same for someone that climbing skyscrapers without safety prevention in the name of dignity and bravery?
as one of the previous commenters said, the novel is like 800 chapters long. and its even finished - in contrast…
Yeah, I did skipped to read the ending just because I was unsure if they would ever aired JoL season 2 before. But I didn't read the part that is yet adapted. So I read the whole S1 chapters and the last chapter. In order to know what I missed. But I love the series so much that I refuse to read the one not aired yet π , for this case, I rather have surprised than expectations. I don't want make the same mistake like I did years ago with Harry Potter series π€£
I have to say ZRY is a talent in acting involving schemes. And that Emperor is more like an Emperor than most…
Yeah, it's not just an empty word saying 'he is the greatest Emperor of Da Qing' and we see nothing. The Emperor in JoL convinced me in everyway that me too would think twice to offend him π
its the good ol' 'be careful what you wish for'. Poor Lai Ming Chengπ"The emperor's thoughts are deep" "The…
Yeah, I didn't like her when she ranted about the Monarch Industry as well while I enjoyed it so much. Most of the time I didn't agree with her opinion too, but strangely I always back to watch. Because of my background, I only put importance on how well the story was created. But she gave me the perspective I often ignored. She always details especially in cinematography and how historically accurate a film/drama is. Cannot always agree with her, but it's fun to learn something I missed. After a few years, I think I grew fond of her π
Credimus quod credere volumus π
