lin gong's death is definitely going to come back and bite FX soon, isn't it? "don't ruin wan er's wedding" she…
The YLer in S1 might be a brute but not as gullible as S2 YLer. The characters flaw was so obvious because she surrounded by tons well written character and outstanding actors/actresses performance. YLer S2 feels like phytoplankton trapped in Climate Change.
do you guys think the emperor will show up at the wedding?๐ It's his son's wedding after all. All of FX's brothers…
From the novel, ending chapter 148
In a room deep in the palace, the emperor of Qing was looking at a painting with a smile. The painting was a portrait of a woman in a yellow shirt.
The emperor had given his dearest Wan โer to Fan Xian. His Majesty thought the woman in the painting would like the girl too. So much had happened in Fan manor today. The onlookers all believed it was due to His Majesty pampering Wan โer . Even the Ladies didnโt stray too far from that belief. But the truth was that His Majesty felt regretful that Fan Xian could not get married as a prince. Gazing at the woman in the painting, the emperor smiled. "You used to enjoy such lively events. I hope he does too."
Dammit Old Princess!!! I know filling Neiku with dept is good moves but I am pissed!! ๐ you know, I personally hate dept and even when I am not wealthy, I refuse to have dept in any way ๐ it's just soo personal
I am surprised the Emperor doesnโt rein Princess Royal in. Even in another town she played havoc using peopleโs…
In ep 24 they show it lah, She too moves according to someone else arragement. A.k.a the mighty older brother. There's a reason she survive when all of her siblings died.
Can someone kindly tell me:1) why did Ye ling er want to tell Wan Er abt the murder initially when she was trying…
LCZ initiated doubt into YLer about Lin Gong murder case. Initially YLer thought it has nothing to do with FX since FX has no motive. But LCZ gave kind of clarity. Therefore, she rushed to tell the truth to Wan Er. Although it's true that FX not directly killed Lin Gong, but his bodyguard a.k.a uncle WuZu did. Wan Er was very distraught when she thought his brother death connected to FX. But FX did swear back in S1 that he's not the one kill Lin Gong, he told nothing about WuZu to Wan Er. Most characters in JoL have no idea about WuZu existence. So if his existence and connection to FX revealed to public, it would cause a lot of trouble including with their marriage.
LCZ agenda is remains the same. Thus, he confront the naive YLer as the last straw to put FX marriage off (since he wants Neiku for himself). LCZ has no idea about WuZu either, so I suspect that he really thought it was FX the one kill Lin Gong.
If I am not mistaken, Da Bao and Lin Gong has same mother, Lin Rou Fu official wife. LRF have some kind of affairs with the old princess and they have Wan Er together.
What I like about FX version in the drama is that he's more human. He has inborn talent but takes time to blooms. I do like to read OP character in books or manga, but I understand that visual storytelling is different from written storytelling. Because in form of video, they need to show, not tell.
Yeah, I feel like a student that after long confusion suddenly got understanding of the picture ๐ They not…
No no, that's right! YWL talking about how FX put being good 'human' first before being 'officials' but that Hong guy just doesn't care. I feel like one day, he too, would be one of FX prey
JOL truly has the best antagonists. They are not shallow caricatures. You're right, it's impossible to box these…
I am quite fond of Chengze but I think I would be find if he's dead. It's fair for him, afterall, he know what game he played. Still, I might a bit emotional when he died. It's been fun playing with him.
Now that I think about it, the emperor had already set his aim at Lin Ruofu when "the crown prince's aides" urged…
Yeah, I feel like a student that after long confusion suddenly got understanding of the picture ๐ They not even purposefully narrated it. I just caught up with the memory when CPP subtly said Lin Rou Fu crossed the line during Lai Min Cheng meeting. I didn't fully understood back then, but now that they concluded the emperor's plays for LRF, all make sense.
He Zong Wei still tolerable for me. But I got triggered by one of the 4 students. I believe his surname is Hong or something. The one that at first seems wise and can read the room when stopped his fiery mate to confront Guo Zheng. But as soon as SCL didn't make it to the office he only gave WYL the bread and exclude SCL ๐ I understand his situation that he needs a connection to get even the basic of fairness. But he sure have Gou ็ potential.
I love how diverse the characters in this story are. They are complex in their own way and meaningful in many ways. Each of them is a protagonist in their own story.
The last scene when the black night commander asked Fan Xian's autograph may look like a mere comedic break, but I saw it as a reminder that even no named soldier like him is a human too.
There's no exact in this story. No one is perfect because each of them has their fair square of flaws.
A clever and thoughtful protagonist with high morals and integrity like Fan Xian is great in his own way but also flawed as we are consistently reminded that Fan Xian himself still walked on the path prepared by others. His peak of character development may be at the point where he finally finds his own path or eliminates the pathmaker so that he can walk in his own path.
The competent and complex Emperor is so great that at the end of the day, he ought to pay all the glory with tranquillity. No friend, no family, no genuine. He lived his life in constant wary while his brain calculated each of his subject moves. He is indeed a manipulative, but not the only manipulator in the story, in fact, even our beloved FX is a great manipulator himself. The most recent case was when he used the censor department for his own objective, like father- like son. I refused to describe any characters in JoL in black and white because most of them look so colourful to me including the emperor. He's one character I enjoy in fictional stories but wish not to encounter in reality.
Again, the seemingly dark but quite eccentric CPP. Instead of using FX, I feel like he was the one deeply hurt by Ye Qing Mei's death. He may use FX to make his mom's dreams come true, but... I don't know yet hahaha
They even humanized the small role like the old Guo Bao Kun's friend that I had forgotten.
Even when there are a lot of schemers in JoL, none of them is a copy of the other. They are unique in their own way like human being, so I never found myself bored with it.
You see the 19-21 episode truly shows how is it feels like when the emperor actively scheming. Like everybody…
The emperor is a complicated man indeed! The more the story unfolds, the more similar FX to the Emperor. Why am I suddenly singing Complicated by Avril Lavigne while writing this?! ๐
YLer S2 feels like phytoplankton trapped in Climate Change.

And LCZ ended up stopped YLer to tell things to Wan Er. I am yet sure why he change his mind, but my hypothesis is because of Neiku dept.
There's a reason she survive when all of her siblings died.
