I don't think the actor changes were bad. Both did a good job in their respective seasons. What I really struggled with especially towards the end was the pacing. A lot of scenes seemed overly dragged out for no reason. There was too much dialogue saying the same things over and over and in the end we suffered the flashback dumps. Too many flashback scenes. This season could have been cut by 10 episodes at least if not more. Overall I liked it, but yeah, too dragged out made it a struggle.
Goodness only 3 in 2 years with all that they put out? True though.
Me? I was agreeing with the OP.... The three mentioned are the best shows they have put out in the two years in the BL genre. Everything else has been lack lustre.
At least in Gen Y 2, the brain trauma patient got a hospital bed right away. 🤕😝Our friend here with the…
It's all magic! Magic apples and Magic sun that was a cure for his memory relapses. Who needs doctors whose course of treatment is " He needs surgery, but failing that, he needs someone special to help him remember. That should cure it too.". Then all of a sudden he becomes The Arrow/ Hawkeye despite recently having a brain injury.
I could rant on endlessly about the many fails with this series. It was sublimely ridiculous but I stayed with…
All your points I agree with especially waiting for Rain/Phayu cuts and Fluke's hair was a constant distraction for me! The comments here give me life.
So far not bad at all. It gave me Gifted vibes minus the supernatural and the gravitas. Also gave me Scooby Doo vibes. I am not that surprised there wasn't a supernatural reality. The only thing was the "curse" mystery which was not that much of a mystery. In that regard of expectations on this point, it was disappointing but the character developments and emotional depth of personal stories is really good imo. Best so far I've seen this year. The acting from all was great. KhaoFirst are really bringing it and I am glad they are utilising Neo more seriously than the standard comedic relief clown character. It was refreshing to see him actually act and give some depth of emotion. I am slighlty disappointed Pawin didn't get more screen time. They really did the story dirty in ep11 though. I really don't know what that was about.
I dont understand that how he doesnt have redeeming quality even though he was anger with is friend Tharn he came…
I agree with both your ( TylrJ and MJ-7) points. I think the biggest issue that overlaps the both of you is that the writing and directing were not that great to round everything off. They overlooked a lot and parts of it felt like old school BL where the insults and extortion were part and parcel of the drama where it isn't accepted so much today. I think its a shame they didn't address some of this. In regards to the pay issue, Maze did end up giving him fair pay the first pay check so he could comfortably pay his bills and the debt issue was put aside and only used as a plot point to bring these two complete opposites together. But Maze said some things I thought was completely out of line when they argued and I just don't understand why the writers chose to ignore it and never make him apologise when he is capable of doing it. Even Phap didn't react to what he said that is why I say its a directing and writing issue, and not a character/actor issue. As an artist, having your lover tell you that you suck is really awful but neither of them reacted to this at all and he said is a few times. It is like some scenes are missing. This whole love conquers over lack of communication trope really is outdated for modern times. They gave it a good go but also missed in places that it actually mattered thus it isn't bad but it isn't great and it is borderline frustrating at times that they use the same tropes here of all those pointless misunderstandings. It is lazy. I have seen much worse BLs this season so I guess my bar has been lowered lol. But in the end I didn't mind it so much and the actors all did a good job with what they had.
Did anyone else feel like Neung was disingenuous? I'm not sure what it was but I never fully trusted that he was…
I think it was the actor. I mean, I was really impressed with Yacht showing a different side to his acting and his eyes were so expressive but against Yoon, well it didn't do Yoon any favours so he came off disingenuous and difficult to read. Could be the acting could be the directing, not sure. But Yacht was really good.
OMG I was like.... this girl looks familiar.... YIWHA! OMG she was the best female sidekick in BL series ever! I compare all female besties in BL to her since TWM. None can stand up to her character Yiwha. I am so glad to see her again.
Uuuugh had I known it wasn't a complete series I would have waited. At least only 2 more months to go for the sequel but I am sad because it was sooo good and I really liked it but I have to wait!!!
I know this came out 2 years ago and was a great success then, but I just watched Love Between Fairy and Devil…
Ugh so that is how I ended up here. I am looking for something similar to Love between Fairy and Devil but I can't find anything and Ive watched most recent stuff I think.
Reading the synopsis it kind of reminds me about Korean drama strong woman do bong soon
Thats what I also thought. That is one of my favourite shows as well. I doubt this can but as cute and great storytelling as that one and at 7.8 so far it isn't looking good. I think I will just get annoyed if they tried to mimic Strong Woman.
Its not explicit at all. I wouldnt even mind watching it with other people. They show how the plays are done,…
Right, I think there was only one kiss in the entire thing. Lol. They did a really good job though. I don't get the whole BDSM thing but it was still sexy, thoughtful and well paced. Very good humour and fun. Very lighthearted. It is just the subject matter alone gives it a 19+ rating. Nothing else in it is exceptionally explicit.
The romance was not the point, the healthiness or whatever of Wang and In is not the point! I just think it's…
I realised this episode that this story was not about Wang and In at all. They were the one's telling a story and coming to terms of what if meant for each of the people involved. A voyage of self discovery that doesn't necessarily mean forward movement or resolution.

Finished this and liked it a lot over all. Great female characters and male leads. Good productions and acting. My only criticism would be regarding Ou Yang Xu. I didn't really get his character and degeneration - from the way they presented him from the beginning and then his demise to the end. I never was really able to believe it. It all felt a bit unlikely. Unlikely that a person as smart and observant as Pan Er would miss signs of his questionable character from the beginning because there must have been signs when they first started dating and then when they reunited he still presented as caring and was looking out for her. Then all of a sudden he goes from her being the love of his life full of sincerity to wanting to kill her and blaming everything on her? The way they presented Pan Er makes me believe in her judgements so she couldn't have been THAT wrong in choice of partner. I mean, I think if they wrote Ou Yang Xu's development slightly differently and more believable, then it could have made more sense. But to me, it felt like his character was all over the place and not very clear in motivation. In the end I felt more sorry for him than any really disgust or anger (which is what I felt the writers were trying to achieve). He was trying to salvage his career but went about it all wrong and it just didn't make sense at all. At first the people around him caused him trouble, but all he had to do was talk to Pan Er and be honest about his situation because it was all pretty avoidable from the moment he agreed to her contract. She has shown that she isn't unreasonable. I could go on.... But it was such an unclear and messy character that I feel this was the weakest point in this drama. He was basically a punching bag for the storyline with no real personality. Other characters in this story had very clear back history and personality outlines and stuck to them. But this one character did not because his only purpose was to be the punching bag and the tie between Pan Er, the Guos and the Empress.
