Xian Hua

The English name of this drama is misleading - I don't know why they like to put "Romance" in everything, but this is more like a mystery solving drama rather than romance. The original drama name is Ban Xia which is the FL's name. So if I were you I would adjust my expectation knowing this is NOT a romance drama - think more like "Strange Tale of Tang Dynasty" which also takes in the same era. Little or minimal romance interaction. Nobody commented about about Yang Xu Wen did no kiss and of course people would scream that Ren Jia Lun would do no kiss. My advise is skip this drama even if you have nothing else to watch rather than watching and complaining for something doesn't fit in the story.

I am always a fan of his voice and sooo glad he used his own voice!

well, here's an advise, stop watching this and watch something else that more suitable for your taste.

Is there any other dramas like this - no not JOL I have watched S1 and S2 million times lol - Also watched BOY several times. Any hidden gems maybe? We might never see GotD S2 so I need something else.........

Joy of Life. So many aspects are similar. But yea, if you like JOL you will like this one.

For anyone who read the novel, how far is the drama ending in the novel? Half?

"his performances quite cold" lol because that is his roles. Do you expect him to be bubbly cheerful as Wei Zhao, or Chang Yi, or as Zhou Sheng Chen? That's not their personalities. He did play that "happy" role in Love a Lifetime which actually seems to be closer to his real personalities. If you ever watch any his BTS, you can see him goofing around with his other casts, so to me, being able to portrayed cold characters, show me his acting level. But we won't miss you if you decide to skip this drama :)

I feel he chose to be villain specialist, or the not-so-nice guy who build the grande scheme. But no matter what, no role can make me hate him more than Yan Shi Fan - Under the Power 😂 Good actor. I see a long list in his upcoming drama, I guess we'll see him more 😊

From a graceful cool powerful Li Han Yi, to a trashy jealous sister Mu Ran Wu - got to say Zhang Wei Na played both roles nicely done.

The twist between student-master-student (who's the student who's the master 😂) and amnesia over amnesia, made this drama more interesting than typical xianxia drama. After MM, so far 2025 started strong!

Novel has sad ending. Most of her original novel have HE yet drama adaptation have sad ending so I am not hopeful at all.
