On Love of Thousand Years Apr 29, 2020
Finished the series and can't get over how handsome the ML is! Haha

Anyway, 1st series of the leads for me and they are great!! Loved the chemistry and I'm glad there were some lovey-dovey scenes for them.

I don't know why people are getting turned off by the face swap. There's a reason for it and it was explained. She took on her maid's appearance because she didn't think there were any people left who could recognize the maid or that she would encounter them. For her to be safe, the princess would need to be dead.

OMG! Just found a new crush! FJY is so so good looking! ? The other guy who I think is super super good looking is Elvis Han. And ZYC is actually giving me mature vibes here, maybe because he's supposed to be thousands of years old, which is perfect.

Loving the drama so far!

I may just start watching oriental odyssey...

Wanted to add that I watched princess agents first and that made me stayed away from zly's dramas but Minglan turned me around so yeah! Haha

I love Eternal Love and feel the drama did such a better job than the book. The drama did a great job of showing details from others POV other than Bai Qian. One of my fav dramas!

I liked Minglan and enjoyed the drama. Haven't managed to keep up to date with the translated novel yet. While I enjoyed the drama and what I read of the novel so far, it's not a drama I could sit and re-watch.

I dropped princess agents after 10ish episodes and am glad I did and haven't watch the other two yet. Boss and Me sounds good though.

Same! I loved it for some reason. Haha

I'm expecting that based on the ending theme song.

I, too, have been following this drama religiously since it started on viki and agreed with everything you said.

Ariel has been acting forever and is awesome! The last drama I watched of hers was "In time with You" and before that "Prince of Lan Ling" and both are fantastic as well.

ZBB is such a hottie and this is my favorite role of his to date. Happy, smiling and so sweet. I want to see him more in this kind of role.

I love some of the things that the writers included in this drama that I didn't expect to see and so funny that they just tickle me. Yes, the comic timing is indeed, a very big reason to watch this as well. Just hilariously! And I find myself smiling a lot though there were definitely scenes that I shed tears as well.

Buqi's interactions with everyone (Dongfang Shi, Yun Lang, Mo Ruofei, BinBin's assistant, her shopkeepers, grandpa, uncle, etc) and her chemistry with all the actors are so spot on and I loved almost every character in this drama, with the exception of a few.

I love that Buqi's a strong character without being annoying and not afraid to get close or even touching when she needs too.

Here are some of my favorite scenes (SPOILER ALERT):

1) Buqi's reaction when she found out who the Lotus Knight was. Like, she was just SO believable in her anguish. And she doesn't hold back. But that's the beauty of Ariel and her acting.

2) When she pulled Yun Lang's hair, literally. I have always wonder why ancient dramas don't have the hair pulling antic when they fight because they have such long hair and could gain you an advantage. She did. And I burst out laughing... hard because it was so unexpected and hilarious. LOL

3) When Buqi faked that she was in danger in the forest so the Lotus Knight would return to rescue her. Priceless!

4) The stunts Buqi pulled - especially that one from the 1st GIF under "The Humor" section.

5) Lovey dovey scenes between Buqi and ZQ (BinBin)

6) When she mentioned her virginity and others became either embarrassed or angry. Brutal. LOL

So many more and I've laughed so much with this drama. I'll be sad when it's over. My favorite so far of ZBB and Ariel's work because the characters are attracted to each other from the start and not many misunderstandings nor take forever to resolve, similar to why the drama, Sound of the Desert, has remained my favorite drama for years. These kind of dramas are so easy to rewatch.

Just go in with a light heart, relaxed and be entertained! ^_^

Title Ever Night
While I'm waiting for new episodes of Ever Night, need something similar and I read "good" opinions about Fights…
I just finished Fights Break Sphere ie battle through the heavens before I started on Ever night. I loved it as well. I would recommend that first as it's all subbed while An Oriental Odyssey is still not complete. Hope that helps.

The skirt scene with Dong Mae and Ae Shin was so heartbreaking... And that ost by Kim Yuna? I was mesmerized
Totally! The most beautiful scene for me in the drama so far.

did you also report it? I reported it a week ago and then sent me update today and you are right, all 74 eps are…
Yes, so excited to continue! Hahaha

And yep, I chatted with Amazon to asked what's wrong as all episodes except 50 were not working and follow up almost a month later and they were still trying to fix it. Almost gave up too.

Yep, very smart because how else will we get so many hours (episodes) of a good looking movie actor? Hahaha

Plus it's refreshing to see movie actors/actresses in a (good) long drama. Looking at you Tang Wei!

I haven't watch a drama where so many cliches were all together in a drama since so many years ago and didn't realized how fed up I am of them until I started watching this drama. After watching 8 episodes where I predicted most of the things that happened before they happened, I skipped all the way to the last 10 episodes because I find Deng Lun super adorable. I could care less about all the lying and go around in between. I knew it was one of those drama that would only uncover EVERYTHING in the last few episodes.

So based on only watching 18 episodes, if you don't mind constant lying on top of constant lying, cover ups, amnesia, and injustice done to the main girl (thank goodness i skipped most of the episodes), go ahead and watch this drama. It would be so painful if I had to watch all 56 episodes and no way will I. If Deng Lun wasn't in here, I would have dropped it in the beginning. *sigh*

The other thing that really bugged me was how skinny the main girl (Sun Yi) is in here. I really enjoyed her in Siege in Fog because the clothing are long and covered her well (except for the flashback scenes) so it wasn't so bad. But here, you constantly see how skinny she really is.. especially when she wore short sleeve shirts, dresses and short skirts / dresses. Her arms are about the same size as her little daughter in one of the scenes of them from the side.

I've become emotionally invested with the main couple of this drama oh my god. Was rooting for them from beginning…
I agreed! I would love to see more female characters like her too. Living and loving outside the norm, especially for that time period, speaks courage and i love her and them all the more for it.

It's been years and I have watched this multiple times but wei wu ji is still the best male lead ever for me!…
"only when he lets you go can he find his happiness".

Or similar to this. I love that line towards the end. So final and bittersweet.
