Title The On1y One
I like the slow burn. The novel is slow burn, the drama is slow burn. This is going to be hell, waiting every week for those two eps.

I see nobody recomended Faith and for me is one of his best dramas, once you get used to the historical setting.…
I like Faith myself but TBH, City Hunter is better as a story/production/overall acting. For Faith I had to go look up the history around the events re-told, and I expected much more of the time-travel than it delivered. But it's a good looking drama, and the OST is memorable (CH's OST is still better LOL).

Boys Over Flowers would've been a good start but that if @OP wanted to check it out some 10 years back at least, LOL, Heirs is a complete waste of time... I couldn't stay with Legend of the Blue Sea and I'd rec' The King ONLY for Woo DoHwan and their bromance, but the actual main plot itself is kind of weak.

So, @OP, start with City Hunter, if you will :D

Okay so I m someone who is neutral about this kdrama situation thing I really want someone to explain me what…
I'll be one on the Colosseum's stairs: I WANT TO BE ENTERTAINED. I don't care if it's over the top, or impossible, or forbidden by physics, or whatever - if it's entertaining and interesting TO ME, then it's all good.

Of course, that will definitely be (probably) very different from what other people want. And that's okay. I like to challenge myself from time to time.

As for satisfaction - it's very easy to drop whatever is not what I want to watch and I advise everyone else to do the same. If it's not for you, skip it. Time's short and we grow older every day, don't waste your hours just to end up in frustration!

There is no way you think the ML is ugly
So if they're grooming themselves and not hairy, they're eunuchs according to you. And if they're hairy and don't waste much time on washing or other eunuch-like niceties like that, then they're ~real~ men.

This is absurd. I myself like men who keep themselves clean-shaven and as hairless as possible, thanks, and they probably expect the same of a woman who's looking for love. And I also like men who do grow beards, as long as they groom them well and don't keep bushes around their mouths and throats, and clean up after themselves and are not adverse to some perfume now and then, in the name of being "more male-like". I think the general rule of masculinity has more to do with inside than outside, but that doesn't mean the outside presentation is to be neglected. ESPECIALLY when they're looking for partners, dammit, nobody wants to take on a man-child and teach them basic manners and cleanliness.

Then again, it's anybody's business and not my own what they do to their own bodies. They can laser-remove all their body hair or keep it intact, or tattoo their eyebrows, or botox themselves to immobility, I don't care, as long as it's not my body and required of me for anything. SK just happens to like very well-groomed men (or youth) for their leading men roles, SO WHAT?!

RE: this particular drama: TBH, the ML is not my particular type and he's cute in an idol way, which I expected. Not handsome but beauty is in the eye of the beholder so that's that. But if you've watched even the first episode, he's being shown as very involved with his community, aiding the police, helping people surviving on gathering recycled paper, trying to help where he can help, even strays. So he IS shown to be a man DESPITE the fact he happens to be cute. Him being cute (again, to me he's not handsome, but he IS cute enough) has a part in the plot, as his contract-wife does particularly NOT want a pretty man for a contract-husband, actually.

PS Saying that men who take care of themselves and are pretty on the inside AND the outside is a liberal concept says a lot. FYI, that's not a liberal thing except for the US, and you guys are already way over the centre to the right line on anything society-wise, seen from the outside.

OF COURSE he takes off his glasses and gets a 10000% more handsome look, LOL. Ugly Betty strikes again!

And he's a cat lover too - selling his body and soul so that the cat can have a home for a week. I approve. Also I have cats and more roof they could get under than HaeYoung. And I don't even ask for marriage in return, LOL.

One thing I never expected though was to hearJohnny Weissmuller's Tarzan yell out of the blue, LOL.

ETA The Subway commercial was VERY muted, I almost missed it. That's how you do PPL, Subway, do this every time (so I can miss it every time, LOL).

Please reply me based on me not being able to watch cdrmas and even when i watched a few i dropped them because…
Based on what you watched and rated high, you're probably going to love this one. It has high drama, action, redemption, is pretty male-centric, there are no overly-screechy romances that have no actual logic as in the usual hetero wuxia/xianxia. there is bromance AND thinly veiled BL (this is based on a danmei novel, so they censored it but it still comes through).

Have a look and decide for yourself (subs on): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ldvydu34Is

Bloodhounds and Vigilante. For the most part, the recommendation section is pretty spot-on.

I was really enjoying the flow and the banter and then the damned Kopiko commercial broke it. Oh well, we'll pass over this.

I want the CEO to marry the novelist just so his mom could fangirl over her, LOL.

Other than that - Shin MinAh still has it :)

It's been so freaking long since they announced it, I almost forgot about it.

I'll be the one to say it and I don't care if it pisses people off. For a drama to be benched for two or three years, it's going to be 1. no network wants to touch it for various reasons (actors being banned, which is not the case here, production values - but it's Studio Dragon, that shouldn't be it, or the plot/cast isn't worth the money the production team is asking for it. I'm not going to be the judge on that, but given how big the names they cast, maybe it's just the plot. Hopefully). Or 2. There's some litigation over it (someone already paid for some of it and then didn't wanted it any more and didn't release it for other buyers either or something.)

We'll have to wait and see. I hope it's not going to be a mindless romance but with a starry background. If you send someone to space, they should be doing something interesting there instead of just finding love among a whole female population of one.

Envy level: nuclear!

Doesn't the Sportage look so damn fiiiiiinnnnnneee!! I loved it the moment I saw it in the drama, LOL, I think they were doing initial PPL for it and I didn't even see one of that build in real life (in Europe) til the next year or so, hahaha~

But yeah, still very pricey and too damn big for me (you don't want to know how good I am at parking, and I own a really small car :D)

The blurring of products comes when they either don't want to do free ads for them, OR the scene somehow would make bad publicity for the product so they straight out avoid showing it. Just imagine having some killer in the drama casually pick up and drink some Pepsi can or something - Pepsi would sue the production team into oblivion, LOL.

The novel is mainland China though so why put this on Taiwanese dramas, LOL?
"Taiwan do has a thing for step brother trope"

No they don't. As a matter of fact, Unknown is also based on a mainland danmei novel by Priest, Da Ge, just as The Only One/A Certain Someone is based on MuSuLi's A Certain Someone.

The producers are working with the original as much as possible and it so happens both these novels use the cohabitation-into-love trope (it's not even siblings. nobody's parents are married in either of these two novels).

Using the Taiwan (and Thailand) loop to make dramas based on danmei novels is pretty smart, IMHO, though I wonder how much til the Chinese censors put in new rules to stop this too (maybe block selling rights to danmei novels, who knows what they'll cook up). So far there have been precisely 5 novels that used this (My Stand In for Professional Body Double, Meet You at the Blossom for Blooming Flowers, Silent Sorrow, by the same author, Addicted Heroin the Thai version and Priest's Da Ge and this one). All other licensed ones were either watered down into bromances by mainland production companies that did what they could (TU, WOH, TSOMD, Guardian, The Spirealm/KoD) or completely blocked even if finished (2ha, Winner is King, Eternal Faith/HOB/TGCF, Seizing Dreams or any others). Anyway, out of the 5, only one really has the stepbro dynamics and that's Addicted Heroin. The other two who use cohabitation never have them as brothers, legally or not. And for the last two - TBH Shui QianCheng's novels both are abusive as heck and even with no stepbro routines, they have their eeck moments.

So it's not a "Taiwan thing" - it's just what they could license so far. Hopefully they'll be able to license more of the actually sweet and non-abusive novels, too.

PS TBH all the danmei I've read comes from the mainland and I have no idea if there are any known (and translated) Taiwan danmei novels. There are bound to be some, I just never heard of them. So assuming all danmei novels that dramas are using come from the mainland IS generally correct...

''The feeling of walking on a single-person bridge until dark''...the way he smiled slightly after saying this...ep42...
That's the second best scene in the drama, the first best scene is the one in the Silence Room, in the snowy night (you must've already watched it :D)

In ep43, they show us what happened when Wei Wuxian was not around. Now I do feel so sorry for Lan Zhan.
They totally did not. Read the novel, after the drama - you'll get all the explanations there. I mean, even to the scar on LWJ's chest. *wink*

his brother literally passed out in front of him andddddddddddddddddd he is just looking THİS STUPID MFFFFFFFFFFF…
His brother has 1. drawn the Wen Clan on the Jiang Clan with his antics (obviously the Wens would have come eventually but Jiang Leader was on his way trying to raise up help and build a resisting alliance, or at least find some allies to wait it out), 2. caused his mother and father and his whole Clan's deaths (not directly, but served the Wens a perfect excuse to attack), 3. revived one of the death enemies of whatever was left of the Jiang Clan (Wen Ning), 4. forsake all his promises of working with Jiang Cheng and rebuild the Clan where he was raised, to go and live with the remnants of their death enemies, the Wens, 5. DIRECTLY caused the death of Jin ZiXuan, the husband and only man JiangLi ever loved and the father of their child, 6. caused the death of JiangLi on the battlefield, when he lost control of his shadow-spirits.

I don't mean to excuse JC's actions completely, but don't deny he has good cause to not trust WWX ever again, and to not be enchanted by him as everyone else is. Because of WWX, JC lost his whole blood family and his clan and his only remaining blood relative now is a child of another clan.

This will be addressed in the final few eps. but pay attention to JC's POV too. He's not entirely wrong. (And the novel is a lot more clear on WWX's shortcomings).

Title Black Out
Only 14 eps planned but I feel it moves a bit too slow. I know the novel isn't long either, but we're a quarter in and the main culprits are barely appearing right now, a lot of time is wasted on secondary characters just wailing and talking and it's not adding to the slow building up of a case, not any time soon.

Maybe they're trying to be a little cryptic for the sake of the suspense but somehow it's still not gelling well. Maybe some more details could be added here and there, the sooner the better, to link everything together. As is, so far we're getting extremely little pieces (and if you don't know the story in the novel they're almost all irrelevant because of the lack of context) and very little movement.

The only good thing in ep4 is Noh SangCheol catching a scent - and it's not even exactly clear WHY is he getting the scent, since he didn't seem to trust GJW at all. I really hope they try to move at a more alert pace, or this is start feeling like pulling teeth.

It was disappoiting compared to my expectations since it was from orginal creator of global examination and screenwriter…
I don't really care, in the end, about what strangers want or insist on gatekeeping. But since it's a free place to exchange opinions, I might as well, too. So there's no need to talk about keeping calm, LOL, nobody on this site knows each other from Adam, so what does it even matter in the end? :D

I'm just calling out trolls because they are trolls already based on their behaviour, but they can keep trolling as far as I care. So don't get too worked out over this, LOL.
