Yes it's worth it. This is the best xianxia of the past few years. There are no small plots, it was streamlined…
I watched a first ep from both (and a lot of other xianxia, not just these) before deciding to go on or not. Generic is what most of them felt like. I'd rather have a heartbreaking one that makes an impact from episode 1 to the last, than lukewarms been-there-done-that.
That is not to say it's what everyone else has to think about any of these dramas. This is my own taste and these are my own preferences.
Did LSS continue to be a goddess at the end when they show her with her daughter?Edit: And she had killed TTJ…
He put the Scale into her to protect her, sent her away then destroyed the Bone. Imagine about a few thousand hydrogen bombs going off at once. Remember the ADG managed to destroy most of the gods with only his power, and TTJ absorbed his power. Yes she was going to die if he hadn't saved her.
I don't know why but weirdly Tantai Jin's tragic life reminded me of the short novel "The Ones Who Walk Away from…
I've definitely thought about that novella, too (especially in the childhood parts). But ADG didn't set his path like that to make an utopia, but just to prepare his vessel for the future.
His only escape was just to obliterate everything he could - but not the world. And in the first instance he had destroyed everything, WITH the world, too. The second time around, a little love (a VERY little love) saved the world but couldn't save himself.
Now I'm thinking about how much he might've been similar to the ADG - did the ADG have to suffer the same fate? Or maybe he was inhuman enough not to see any different path than destruction? I mean, the All-In-Distress-Way was how ADG decided to end his OWN torment.
I guess for anything good there has to be a sacrifice... But dammit... it's still unfair.
Correct me if Iβm wrong, in ep37, the Heart Guarding Scale still had a wisp of Ming Yeβs divine consciousness…
TTJ didn't get to become a god (not even the Devil God) because he wouldn't submit. He has a chance to get reborn and TBH, when the 500 years later part appeared, I thought the Nether River was going to spit him out again...
Maybe that's why she's waiting there.
But she's not a goddess any more, I think. When he self-destructed, he put the Scale in her to protect her, and she seems to have lost a very large amount of power and was actually going to die, if he hadn't done that. So maybe, if she remained a goddess... she'll have a chance to tell him those words.
It's CE, not BE but not because of the actors. Just like the Royal Nirvana. I had to watch the Director's Cut…
I've said it before - good romances have a HEA and then you move on. Great romances are tragedies and you never forget them.
It's not a CE. It's fitting. I like it. I do still hope for an after-thought ep (like WoH did) to help a bit with the distress, but even if they don't have one planned, this is a good ending.
Okay with how much I was losing interest in the story I didn't expect this ending episode to hit me so hard dear…
She would have died with him when he destroyed himself, but he gave her the Heart-Guarding Scale to save her from it. Do you remember he refined it himself in the Immortal Sects, using all the love he could recognize, from his own to anybody else's, all kinds of love, from small to grand?
He didn't want her dead with him, he wanted her alive even without him.
But OMG... "I'll tell you when we meet again". GODDAMIT.
So was it worth it? I have been waiting for this to finish before I start watching, and reading the comments I…
Yes it's worth it. This is the best xianxia of the past few years. There are no small plots, it was streamlined (some would say to the extreme, but I liked it as it is) and the production is amazing. Watch the trailer, don't read the reviews (spoilers, a lot of them) and try out the first few eps. It never lets up, from the beginning to the end.
Dammit, I spared the pre-final ep to watch them back to back and now I've been crying for two hours. His freaking…
I can't believe it OMG. They'd better do a special ep like WoH did, or else.
Though as it was, it made sense and I loved it. It was tragic but also fitting. Though I still want an add-on that AT LEAST shows him sitting there in that pocket of time in the winter.
What I can remember right now (I'm a mess TBH):
Hot ADG getting surprised. I am not sure which one I'd choose - hot ADG or self-sacrificing hero TTJ. Those olive-green eyes!! But also that man and his winter coat broke my heart.
LSS getting a brain upgrade and UNDERSTANDING what he was doing. AT LEAST THAT. At least she didn't get to understand AFTER he was gone.
Though that message part - "I'll tell you when we next meet", DAMMIT SHOW DON'T RIP OUT MY HEART LIKE THAT
Seriously though they'd better have that add-on ep. I don't care if it's 10 mins long and shows him just getting out of MoHe River. Let him come hear those words she's promising him!!
GYJW didn't deserve salvation but what the heck, who cares about him and his demoness lover anyway, good riddance, farewell.
LSS as goddess was beautiful. SO beautiful! And TTJ as god was also beautiful and for a second they made me hope it's still going to be a HE.
This drama is the worst. We're going to have words... When we next meet. T_T
Dammit, I spared the pre-final ep to watch them back to back and now I've been crying for two hours. His freaking happy place outside of time is the short winter with YXW and his winter coat she bought him and that was basically all he ever wanted.
I don't care how it ends if it makes sense and won't look at ratings or comments before watching them. It's just... I want a double dose, if it has to be the last one :D

After this one, only CWN can rescue us. Help us, CWN, you're our only hope! :D
I am not sure I want to watch it now, TTEOTM put some high standards for xianxia...
And I love that they used Mysterious Bird for the last important scene. I'd've rioted if there was any other song used for it.

Ok, brb, I need to bawl some more.
