Title Till the End of the Moon Spoiler
They are immortals, their lifespan is longer than ordinary mortals. Their divine essence is what making them live…
SY came to the YiYue tribe's village and defeated them. NBY got struck down and she decided to keep him alive for later use. He had to cultivate a demonic path though and he's been their minion for so long... I wonder how he still relates to TTJ :(

Title Till the End of the Moon Spoiler
Anyone here plz can you explain me in episode 29, how come they never age even after 500 year , i was very confused…
I don't see any kind of cdrama in your list, LOL, this must be so confusing for you :)

So, the idea is this: xianxia genre is Chinese fantasy. In this genre, there are mortals, immortals and demons. Immortals are usually either humans or spirits (plants or animals) who cultivate - that means, daoists or "followers of the path", who use all kinds of procedures to form a dantian (core) to gather qi (spiritual energy) so that their lives are way longer or they eventually become immortal, they're much more powerful than regular humans, and usually also can use great martial arts.

Basically, the people in the Immortal Sects have cultivated into being immortals. Some can even, eventually, cultivate into gods, but must undergo tribulations (trials) to get there.

TTJ didn't cultivate into immortality, but he was outside time in the Nether River, protected by YXW/LSS divine essence, basically ready-made immortal through it. The others had to work for it.

Sorry if this has been asked already but when CJM realized Li Susu had the devil bone inside of her, shouldn't…
She died in the tower scene. He still doesn't know how she came to be here 500 years later. He might believe she got reincarnated and kept her memories of past lives. He was looking for her soul in the Nether River for half a millenium. He did NOT know she kept the bone.

Does the uncut version of the drama have 50 or 58 episodes? I’m seeing people say both.
There is no uncut version. The only version is Youku's and it's 40 eps long, with each ep around 55 mins (around 50-51 mins of content, outside the op and ed).

The original presumed length was about 56-58 eps, but very probably around 45 mins in total (including op and ed) so maybe 40 mins content per episode. Because of new c-ent rules, it got edited down to the current version, with about 300 mins less than initially presumed. PROBABLY.

IF Netflix decides to take it up and re-cut it, they might show a new number of eps with the same content. Or they might keep it as is. We'll have to wait and see.

They just started filming Follow Your Heart, he also looks great in that one, but it'll be a long time coming, costume dramas always are.

I am still hoping for 2ha soon, CWN is one of my favourite charas and LYX playing him would be just perfect :)

She might just want to kill two geese at once - convince TTJ she is devoted (as if he'd be fool enough to fall for it, but she doesn't know him that well still), and make the SECTS reject him and force him to flee.

Also, she's a cute little psychopath too, she doesn't really need a reason to kill idiots. Maybe she killed him because he was also wearing red and it didn't look good on him LOL.

Immortality. It's a danmei (they'll probably water it completely down though, IF it even gets released *sigh*). It's based on the novel "The Dumb Husky and His White Cat Shizun", written by Meatbun Doesn't Eat Meat (LOL). The Chinese name is transliterated as Er Ha He Ta De Bai Mao Shi Zun (Er Ha is shortened to 2ha, as I prefer using it LOL), or Hao Yi Xing (shortened to hyx, as other people who read the novel like to shorten it).

Anyway, Chu WanNing is one of the main charas and in the drama (it's already filmed), he's played by LYX :) The other MC is MoRan, played by Chen FeiYu. MR is the crazy one, CWN is the innocent one who gets slighted and things - a LOT of things - go bad before they get better.

So we're basically talking about if people will compare MR or CWN to TTJ if the drama gets released LOL. IMHO, they will compare all of LYX's future costume drama charas to TTJ.

The whole idea when setting up traps in the Jing capital was the make CJM leave the Immortal Sects. When the sleep demon didn't work, SY and JM went to the festival to try other approaches and the idiot Cen heir walked right into one. Even before he came, SY was calculating how to force TTJ to come to the Barren Abyss. She's a smart cookie, that one, thinking fast.

What you want to watch is Love and Redemption, then. It's currently in close combat with TTEOTM regarding blood…
Then I got nothing, LOL - maybe (last ditch try) The Blue Whisper, because the FL is a torturer and the ML is a prisoner. There's angst, but it moves kind of slow and in the second part it seemed glacially slow to me. But it's very pretty. And one of the villains, the evil fairy princess is one of the most beautiful villains ever. Her entrance in the story is one for the records LOL.

And also one of the most beautiful opening sequences/songs too (at least for the first season)...

He wasn't in the mortal arc - do you mean you didn't see the scene where he breaks?!! That's the best scene of the whole drama for me.

I already posted his change of look there, as proto-TTJ, he reminded me so much of that look when he looked up at YXW in the first ep, LOL.

This look:

How are you with BL / danmei? (Censored, that is. China has no chill).

Because one of the biggest danmei xianxia hits of the recent past is The Untamed, and it's worth it all the way. No annoying FLs, the female characters actually speak in normal voices LOL and make sense and aren't annoying - well, one of them is but that's the character. There is even some blood spitting LOL. No PDAs though because China, but lots of angst and hatred and most of all, the best bromance there ever was (so many bromances there, LOL, not counting the MLs).

For more PDAs (but still censored danmei, and wuxia not xianxia) there's Word of Honor. Much hilarity, lots (LOTS) of angst, some crazyness from the MCs, there's even some het romance thrown in.

If you're not familiar with bromance or not sure if you'd like it - maybe try some out? I'm currently watching a Taiwanese drama called Oh No! Here Comes Trouble that is amazing, LOL (unfinished yet). One of the best moving bromances (no idea if it'll end up romancey or not yet). Also plenty of angst, but oh so much humour, it's worth it.

Give them a try if/when you feel so inclined.

Title The Untamed
Guys, I have been debating whether I should watch it or not. I watched WOH and after finishing it, I stumbled…
If you start, give it a chance til around ep 15 though. (It's not that long, eps are about 40 mins long, if you discount ops and eds). That's when the going gets tough. The first few eps are setting up a lot of later plots.

Also, just to clarify, 1-2, then 33-50 happen in current time, 3-33 is a long flashback to the past. People seem to get frustrated when they don't know when the flashback ends.

If you decide starting it - enjoy! It'll be a ride :)

Is ashes of love as intense? I am at ep 5 from Ashes of love and I am not so hooked. Will there be angst, love…
What you want to watch is Love and Redemption, then. It's currently in close combat with TTEOTM regarding blood spitting by the ML. TTEOTM has 6 more eps to make up a difference of 5 blood spitting instances. I think the record will be obliterated.

Anyway... LaR.

LOL yeah, JinMi was pretty... sad as a MC.

I liked RunYu and the Empress the best, and then definitely the little snake spirit (I think he's in the first few eps too, anyway he's in the epic scene where RunYu finally breaks down) and one of my favourite Chinese singers (for OST songs that I've heard, anyway), Sa DingDing, was in it, playing a prophet fairy of some kind. (She sings Upwards to the Moon, the best song in the OST, too).

The only part that really actually worked for the leads was the mortal arc. But other than that... it was pretty average. RunYu's conflict saved that drama for me.

The Heavenly Empress was da bomb, though. She was one of the best, spiteful, cruel, single-minded villain I've ever seen in xianxia. It was so easy to hate her - and her only interests were loving her son and hating her love rivals.

It's very probably not going to be a recognizable danmei anymore, so there's a lot of more romantic and suggestive scenes that could be cut out if they even filmed those. And maybe some details about TXJ's deeds will get a short pass-over. If they decide to keep mostly the xianxia, it'll turn into a disciple/master feud and reconcilliation with lots of spilling of blood LOL and repeated sacrifices from everybody.

But even if they decide to cut it into seasons, I'd wait for those 6 months apart myself. Or not, LOL, it depends on how well they do it. Here's hoping for a faster release :)
