So... gonna rewatch this as soon as I can. This might be one of the best eps yet.

First off - everybody is a virgin in those Immortal Sects. Why would anyone want to join?! (Though I wonder if MN just planted those memories in GYJW's brain or something actually happened LOL).

Second - it was kind of clear they were gonna trap him with all those people as hostages. Where the heck was LSS for all of this?!

Third - it's not all hopeless. His sect stood by him for the most part, even despite the evidence incriminating him. It might help him resist.

Fourth: still one of the best eps. A whole baggage of emotions and pain - I BET DM is lying somehow.

Not give him to take, but it was put into him. He had it before birth and wasn't aware of it or part of the decision.

Again, it's not that he doesn't know he would turn into DG given the right circumstances (he worked that out, not thanks to anyone given nobody's telling him anything). Though LSS didn't know he did, which is what she realized through this discussion). It's that he didn't know why she feared HIM (as in, it wasn't obvious to him before why she couldn't shake it off, given he doesn't intend to become DG or will allow himself to be seduced over to the DG's side).

That's the whole idea, actually, LOL. The demon took LSS's memories to create a nightmare for TTJ, so he sees the same things LSS saw, the same images of the ADG, etc. It finally helps him realize HE is that thing, and this is what LSS is actually fearing.

No, they are not past lives. Everybody being shown in this dream arc - the Bo'Re Life - is now dead, with a few exceptions - the God of Time and some of the evil minions of the Ancient Devil God.

Gods and goddesses are divine essence only and don't go through hells to be reincarnated. When they're gone, for whatever reason, they're gone forever. When MY dies, he's gone. TTJ is now feeling and "re-living" MY's tale of love and war, while YXW is living SJ's, and XL is SY, respectively YBC is TH.

The idea of the dream is to teach things to them, it's part of a larger prophecy that is meant to deal with the Devil God's resurrection (because HE cannot be destroyed forever since mankind keeps re-making him.)

If you remember, the God of Time set YXW three tasks - she needs a dream, a thread and a tear that would help her build a tool to get the Devil Bone out of TTJ. All three things are related to this arc, so pay attention :)

PS The Flood Dragon that TTJ was trying to wake up is the last remnant part of MY's conscience and qi (energy), left behind to ensnare people in his repeating dream of his past life. The dragon is NOT alive any more either.

PPS Wait I now read your last question with more attention (sleepy, sorry): The Ancient Devil God takes off his mask and he looks like TTJ because TTJ is his vessel in this timeline (10k years after he's in the war with the god MY). The Devil Bone in TTJ was entrusted to the YiYue tribe that TTJ is from to give a child for the ADG's reincarnation, which they did. So they have the same face BUT the eyes are always different.

Around 18, IIRC.

I did say LSS coming back to the past obliterated the original history after TTJ didn't die anymore. GJYW in the original timeline obviously was immortal or trying to be, since he was in the sect.

By the way... why did he change his name to GYJW in the original timeline? Just because remaining Xiao Lin would have put restraints on him, what with being from an imperial family and the like?

I haven't read the novel, LOL, it might be different. But I read sf&f (and lately danmei and isekai) all my life. Time paradoxes are the bomb!! :)

The drama isn't that hard to understand or follow in some parts, but it's true, there are a lot of details and some might escape attention at times.

For anyone who wants to see more about how all this came to be, you know there's the Youku playlist of Director's Specials and BTS. For myself, what most surprised me was how beautiful Chen Du Ling (MN/YBC) and Geng YeTing (YQY)'s respective voices are. I wish she had dubbed herself.

Also, Bai Lu delivered her lines much more emotionally than it comes through in some scenes, I also wish she'd had time to re-dub herself :(

I didn't look at his costume, I realized it's from the ending part based on HER hairdo and costume, LOL, she only had those in the Immortal sect life.

There are two timelines. LSS exists in both of them. In the first one, Devil God came and destroyed the sects and she went back in time for 500 years to stop him from rising. Which she did.

From the time she went back and didn't let TTJ (DG's vessel) die, ALL history changed. TTJ became the emperor, then she managed to get the Evil Bone from him and have a lightning tribulation and "die". She didn't actually die. Centuries in the future, her adoptive dad (Sect Leader Qu) was put in charge of hatching a phoenix egg from which the 2nd timeline's LSS grew up. In the sect, together with the re-made XL. They got engaged or at least talked about it, but then LSS in this second timeline failed a tribulation, went to recuperate at the bottom of a magic pool and vanished for ten years. In her place the 1st timeline's LSS came back. This LSS remembers the destruction of the sects and TTJ but does NOT remember any engagement with GYJW. They still grew up together (in the original timeline, before being sent back to the past), just not precisely the same. GYJW is not XL reincarnated and has no memories but his life in the sect. He doesn't remember YBC either.

I hope it's clear enough...

I mean... SL Qu HATCHED her from a phoenix's egg. And Di Mian had a talk with him before asking him to take care of the egg/baby. SL Qu definitely knew.

And 2nd TL LSS went to the Barren Abyss 500 years back, before SL Qu got there and was saved by Di Mian. Di Mian knew who she was, or he wouldn't have helped her either, and again, that happened before Qu came and went.

One has curly bangs and is secretly evil, one is always cold and seems to be planning something, the third always smiles and likes to play tricks (I've no idea how much wine do they make in that sect, but HE might know, personally, LOL).

They're very easy to tell apart :)

There is a scene of the dismissal but I don't remember the guards, only the handmaidens. There might've been guards too.
1st timeline, she didn't meet him. 2nd one, she met him 500 years ago when she went to look for Ji Ze and also found Fu Ya. Actually, she didn't see him, just heard his voice. guiding her.
She is half-goddess and phoenix through her mother (Chu Heng, the Goddess of Space) and gets her divine essence / body from her. There are no gods now, but she's cultivating into immortality and she CAN become a goddess. The tribulations were intended to help her along. The lightning tribulation is a must for progress in cultivation for immortals - even dragons have to go through them, not just immortals wanting to become gods. She wasn't making a 10-year tribulation, she FAILED a lightning tribulation 10 years back (the 2nd timeline's LSS, the one who went to recuperate IF she could at the bottom of the pool). She hadn't come up for ten years, so when the 1st timeline LSS came back in her place, she was probably already dispersed and nobody had yet found out.

The blood thing is TTJ trying to use the same spell as PYZ when remaking XL - he needs the Array, the spell, tears from a lover, blood from an enemy (he could use his own for both, I think he intended to) and some part of her body (he had her divine essence). Also divine blood would work better to make sure of success and activate the Array, according to PYZ's ghost's teachings.

Sect Leader Qu (foster dad) named her Yuling Goddess - the Lady of Elegance, if the TL is right.

Err. The thing MY managed to hide was the Bone Refining Seal, not the Evil Bone. The Ancient Devil God made a pact with the YiYue tribe to get a child from them as a vessel, and the Bone was in the child's heart.

As for the eyes... he might've LOOKED like ADG, but he wasn't (no red / olive eyes), and she seems to recognize him by his eyes (there's that scene in 33 when TTJ tries to be sneaky and get some details from them and she seems to believe it because of the eyes, until he misses some hint and is discovered.

My latest theory re: SY not recognizing TTJ: girl is colour blind. So, hazel eyes - not DG. RED/OLIVE eyes - definitely DG.

He didn't realize it was himself. He thought he might look like the Devil God or something, so he had no idea it was he, himself, who was doing everything, in her memory.

After this dream, he also realizes that's why she was, and still is, afraid of him - not of TTJ, but of him potentially becoming DG.

In essence, they're talking about different things - she's talking that he knows he's supposed to become DG, and he's talking about why she's still afraid of him.

It's the perspective, LOL. BL once measured his face using the width of her palm, and was jokingly annoyed it was so small (it's in one of the BTS that went in the ocean of Youtube, couldn't find it now if I tried, LOL).

Yeah, debunked rumour. The production team said they had LYX in mind from the beginning. Now, they might say it since he ended up taking the role, but the director himself gave interviews and said (among other things) that they never considered anyone else and even waited for LYX to heal from his LCR wound before starting shooting, even if it cramped up the schedule.

So no wonder if people from other companies (I doubt GJ started this rumour) or fans are saying it, but it's not true.

It's not the complete one - where she's trying to make a heart sign with him and he goes to shake her hand, LOL. Totally oblivious LOL.
