Maybe the cop didn't know CPR or thought it was useless (he's a cop, not a medic). The rest of the guys were busy doing stuff - if this gets a second season, hopefully, I bet we'll see baker-boy didn't get arrested. She didn't put the cuffs on him and the cop sent the rest of them to search upstairs when he arrived. ChuYing was already downstairs.

And TBH, going by what movies and dramas taught me, LOL, if their eyes are open and a lot of blood is spilling from the back of their heads, they're basically dead or almost there. I've no idea if it checks in reality - do massively wounded people close their eyes instinctively or something, is the open-eyes-means-death thing true? And his eyes were open and the pupils IMMENSE (like a cat's LOL, that's definitely humanely impossible). The cop probably wrote him off pretty fast.

He COULD have been basically dead, too, I mean, the first ep starts with him hanging on by that ledge, then when he falls it switches to his grandpa in the fall from the beginning of last ep, so they might've wanted to imply that's when the ink lady's magic happened and saved him, too.

I really wish for a second season. But I don't want the magic explained, anyway, LOL, I want it to remain mysterious :D

Pian Ran is cuter (and more vivacious, TBH). I like her simple feisty or moody actions. For the 2nd season of AoL I was mostly looking at the guys (and it was not really up to the 1st season for me, TBH.)

She's older than both of them and acting like their big sister. There's more bromance between the two of them than between her and any other character (Police Chief aside, LOL).

She didn't have a (stun) gun any more, she just mimicked the moves hoping baker-boy will let go of PYY. She's in the criminal investigation team now, not a patrol cop, so maybe she wasn't issued a gun yet (or they don't have one, I don't know).

They never stopped giving him CPR until the stupid detective forcefully pulled CGY from PYY. He and ChuYing took turns giving CPR and did it for a long time (CGY was breathing hard and his face was all wet with sweat). They did keep him alive and he started breathing again on his own when stupid detective stopped them.

Yes, period dramas usually go through about a year of post-production (adding special effects, editing, cutting it according to censors, trying to get a release approval, making more changes if needed, and so on and so forth). It takes a lot of time if it's heavy on the special effects side, and this one definitely was.

Modern dramas also spend some time in post-production, though not as much as period / costumes, unless some of the actors or team make the news in an unsavoury way.

Favourite character: soft, fragile hostage prince TTJ *mind preparing all kinds of revenge on everybody and their pets*

Favourite scene: fragile hostage prince TTJ raising his eyes at LSS/YXW ready to do murder (ep1). That is the bestest scene in a drama full of best scenes. I didn't even touch the fighting scenes.

Favourite outfit: fragile hostage TTJ in his airy mauve-white winter robes.

Favourite couple: heh.

And yes I'm using "fragile" in a sarcastic way, LOL. That man is made of steel.

He is the guy in the morgue who's working with CGY and lets them in to see the nameless body. The senior intern (or he's an employee already, I don't remember).

Finished ep6, almost put me to sleep (again). You've promised me the dynamics changes after ep6 and I'll hold you to that...

(Seriously, why does this drama feels like valium to me?!! I like one of the mains, the story is still a bit interesting, not too rushed, all things I like... Yet I keep getting sleepy each and every ep. Is it the hypnosis? Is it working on me, too? LOL).

I've replayed those last 5 mins of ep 39 so much I am of a mind to edit-cut that theme from the episode itself, but I want a good sound on it, and dammit they're still NOT releasing it!!

I had no idea who Hu Ge is before watching this drama (I had known Wu Lei, but he was a newbie when this one was made and his role isn't particularly hard, all things considered (other than physically demanding).

So you could say I went in un-biased. And loved it.

Also, TBH, what put me off for the longest time from watching it was actually the title, that doesn't make any sense to me. Nirvana, why? In fire, why? Then again, Chinese media pick some of the most random English titles for some dramas so I dealt with it.

Like me, there were many others. Buddhism and any hints about any kind of religion in here are detterents to me, and if this turned out to be about a certain religion - or it played an important role in it - I'd probably been turned off.

Don't assume watchers are in any way religious, or practicing if they do say they are. It doesn't have much of an importance to most people... unless you let it,
