And also, it keeps XL's goody-two-shoes chara intact and compensates a bit for being way too political in his original actions around little TTJ (when they were both kids), one of the many betrayals TTJ endured but a deeper one, 'cause he had planned his whole personality on copying XL until he discovered it was also kind of a scheme.

Because that's what she does - always jumps to the conclusion he MUST be evil. In her defense - this time - she has just knifed XL and is watching him die, so she couldn't probably be too bothered with logic and whyfores.

I just can't help thinking about the amount of sass Xiao Se is capable of. He might be the most sassy character I've ever watched in a cdrama. And his eyerolls are epic - he's beating Jiang Cheng's eyerolls already, and I've not even watched a quarter of the drama, LOL.
They dub basically every costume drama because of too much surround noise while filming. (Just think about how their hair and clothing moves every other scene... Those are really heavy-duty fans creating the currents, and they're pretty noisy. You can hear them in the BTS).
Also, every drama needs to be in clear, unaccented Mandarin, and not all the actors are able to do it. Some also don't have the time needed for re-dub. LYX obviously could, and did, but BL didn't have the time (she left the filming immediately after her last scene because she had more commitments). AFAIK, only LYX and one other dubbed their own characters, the rest were done by professional voice actors.

Just checked OP's profile... LOL, she dropped the drama three days ago and rated it a 1, and also rated LIS poorly before dropping it. But now she's pretending to care about the db score. She has a 2021 account but just started "watching" in March '23.
