Douban ratings are ratings done by haters that were bought by rival companies Ignore them just watch ep 1 and…
Either extremes are suspect, though, particularly in the very first day or so of open voting. But it's pretty obvious when it happens anyway.
Then again, I do not give a lick of trust to DBers' intentions when the highest rated dramas of the year usually end up being propaganda pieces. What, am I supposed to trust that something overprizing the CCP is somehow worth over 9 on db, yet every popular drama is around 7?
I wish the comment section of this website had a filter function. On pages that have an active comment section,…

I'm curious about this drama, i watching the raiting here and on viki page, but i though the raiting that matters…
So watch the trailer(s), watch an episode, watch whatever sequence you like and make a decision for yourself. Douban had a problem with antis and with xianxia dramas in general. MDL and Viki have more international viewers who tend not to take part in flame wars in China, so even if there are actors' fans among the watchers, people are more controlled. It might be your cup or tea or not - give it a chance before deciding.
Then again, if ratings is everything it takes to decide to watch or skip, everybody has their choice.
The only new and interesting thing about it was Shin Jae Ha's character, and even then they managed to spoil it by the end, LOL. Pretty disjointed and frankly, very lackluster.
A rushed HE as usual.....their daughter appears and the end only his shadow is seen💀
The SE ending IS the real ending they had planned, LOL. Just watch their clothing. And it's the normal kind of xianxia ending.
But they wanted a little extra oomph and added a few more scenes. I do like it - I don't like too much in-the-open romance when that story wasn't about romance... or not mostly, anyway. I got the papapa in the novel anyway :D

I love it, actually :D
If I don't get to watch WWX pleading for his a&&, err, his life, and hear LWJ tell him "everyday means everyday"... Then at least pretend they're together and ABOUT TO GET TO IT :D

It's from The Untamed. That's a danmei (BL) so no PDAs or anything outspoken about a HEA or anything LOL.
The novel ends in a papapa scene, so that was definitely a NO! from the censors. So instead they concocted a separation and then in the final scene, one of the leads comes back, appears to hear something, turns around, smiles wide with the power of a thousand suns (he has the most beautiful smile) and...
I think someone mentioned it in an earlier comment but I think it's VERY very lightly implied that they smashed…
The actual reason they do this in MOST wuxia/xianxia/historical dramas is a bit technical.
The thing is, most of these involve wigs and putting them on and taking them off is quite a laborious job, even more so when there's jewelry and head gear to take care of. (It can take up to a few hours to make it look like it's their natural hair). Also, a lot of scenes are filmed out of sequence, so now they film a bed scene, next a fight scene, then a night scene, back to daytime etc.
So it would definitely kill the flow to have to take off everything just for a sleep/bed scene. And as it's usually the women wearing the jewelry, there's basically no costume cdrama that won't have these strange scenes of people going to bed/sleep completely dressed up and with makeup on, LOL.
For this specific scene, it was way easier to take off TTJ's head crown and the small chain in his hair than to have all YXW's jewels and makeup off, LOL :D

That's definitely not suspicious at all, LOL.
Then again, I am known to expect some extremes when I get too mad, LOL.

...Oh okay, not really Palpatine, but one can wish.

And it's already finished, a big, big plus in my book - I can binge it! :D
