If you followed it as it was airing, you know there was a whole mess behind some of the directions the production took in the end... since even before it aired.

But XZ does have great skill, and it showed. So despite everything, it was at least an interesting character to watch.

I so want him to have a drama with Bai Lu - she's my favourite Chinese actress. I can't decide if I'd like a wuxia/xianxia or a modern drama with them - maybe a modern one, because costume dramas tend to be so much more dramatic than modern stories, and sometimes that deducts from the actual plot. But then, they both look so good in costume...

**throwing up hands in the air** Any new drama or movie with them, or separate, I'll take it, please :D

Well, Ace Troops wasn't about romance, but mostly about being men and taking responsiblity. I think he did great with his role as a stoic and responsible soldier. And Douluo Continent was never about romance but about the power-up LOL. I'm actually glad they kept most of the romantic parts out. That drama was so shounen it hurt heheh.

I have a feeling Where Dreams Begin is going to be romance-less too. But he might shine as a romantic star again in The Longest Promise... though we might have the longest wait for it too LOL.

I guess he was being direct and warning Gu Wei he's in a competition. Not that LZX didn't set that straight as soon as he (SJ) confessed to her LOL. And well, Gu Wei needed a reason to get a bit overpossessive LOL.

It didn't matter, he was still way too romantic. Especially as rogue Ji Chong, though my heart broke for him as Prince ChuAn. At least he got the SFL, and she was WAY smarter than MZX. I mean, she stayed alive AND got her man. What more can a girl do? :D

Have you seen him as Ji Chong?! He can do romantic at the drop of a hat. With women AND men actor partners, if we're talking about it LOL. I don't know who's going to be with in his real life, but that person is going to be one happy person, if he's just a tiny bit as romantic as he can be in a role.

That was such a Howl's Moving Castle moment LOL (When Turnip turned back into a human and was rejected by Sophie, he said something like, "I'll try again in a year, a woman's heart is fickle"). Shao Jiang is soooo Turnip at that moment :D

"You know I don't like coriander" and then as a punishment he has to eat coriander-flavoured icecream (sounds yucky, I pity him), *IT'S WORTH IT!*

Grabbing all the points there, Dr. Gu.

Also, "Make a wish!" (to fireworks, LOL, she's too cute :D), and he goes all serious: "My wish is right next to me!" **swoon**

All the wanna-be come-betweeners in this drama give up pretty quick, here's a toast to them for not being infinitely obnoxious, LOL.

"Then who's the cute one?" - "Also you!" NICE save there, Dr! Though your grammar is kind of sketchy indeed LOL.

Gu Wei: I bought her a fresh drink. It was DEFINITELY against my better judgement, since fizzy drinks are bad for your teeth and too much sugar before bed will not help a good night's sleep. But at the time I thought it was a cute gesture.
Wei WuXian (generously): I'll give you a bottle of Emperor's Smile. You can share it with her.
Gu Wei: Alcohol impairs judgement. Can't give that to a girl. In fact, nobody should over indulge.
Wei WuXian: I just KNEW you don't know how to have fun. I mean, you don't even eat spicy food. Let me tell you, spicy food and alcohol are the best things in life, bar none.

Rebound guy always draws the shorter stick, it can't be helped. But maybe he has a chance to become Mr. Right, this is a romcom, anything can happen.

Also, Gao Xi needed that brutal rejection. I think she's strong enough to get over it and become Gu Wei's friend again, so I don't blame him for being so harsh on her. And it did sound a bit like they were trying to find a groove there, with the parents and the job and the habits etc. It's Gu Wei's good luck he found Lin ZhiXiao.

They're going to be stupidly in love for a bit, right? They're way too cute. Seriously getting hyperglycemic over here, LOL.

And two mini-theatres in a row, wow. "You'll always be 44 kilos in my heart" - LOL, Gu Wei, it's a trap. Never reply to that question :D

I FELT Gao Xi when she told LZX that she (LZX) is way too easy to distrust hard-working doctors in the hospital trying to help her dad (she meant Gu Wei) while she's so ready to trust outsiders. She (GX) seemed to reclaim her cool head for a while there. And she was totally right in what she said.

SanSan really is too immature to get involved in other people's relationships *sigh* and so is Gu Xiao. And they're way too reckless in their own relationship, going from being cats-and-dogs with each other to getting into bed together (while drunk too). Nice example there...

Ep 14 (DVD)...

DVD version is better - the eps are longer (the same content is in the TV version but a bit differently edited, and the episodes with the same number aren't the same, the TV is already behind the original version). The DVD versions include mini-theatres from time to time, and also all the OP and ED songs.

You'll recognize them easily - the DVD eps are 45-48 minutes long, the TV ver. eps are ~35 minutes long.

It's been so long since he's been in a drama I wanted to watch. He needs better luck in scripts. (And since I've already mentioned it, so does Ji Chang Wook).
