Ep. 12 (DVD). When she's jealous, it's kind of cute (because he's that into her.) When he's feeling swept aside…
Also, MOM!!! WHAT THE HECK!!! Can't you see your son-in-law-to-be is eating up his liver right next to you?!
Question 1: Why does Gu Wei have two umbrellas? Question 2: How come he's soooo smooth to instantly decide he only needs one? LOL.
Boo on the whole school orchestra. She just had to rest her hand, she didn't die. What do you mean you already replaced her? Poor baby LZX, come here, I'll comfort you (and light up that rehearsal room.)
Does anyone else think Gao Xi is super creepy. WHY the heck are you recording Gu wei looking at your house?! not…
Playing devil's advocate here - she might be panicking. She had her whole life scheduled ahead: get a degree, become a doctor at this hospital, marry her childhood friend and schoolmate, eventually have kids, enjoy the leisures of life, happy ending. She might have seen it happen in her mind for so long, she never even thought that the course could alter so she doesn't have any backup for her successful life story.
So when Gu Wei is already changing that future she planned, she's left drifting. I don't think it's actual love on her side either - she's reading his mail, trying to make him move like he's a piece of chess, trying to drive away all interfering people etc. She's just possessive - or it might be that now he's actually moving away, she realizes she does like him and want him a lot more than what she thought before. But IMHO it's possessiveness.
i think this schedule might be messed up, episode 10 has just been released but the calendar is on ep 13
The calendar might be for the Hunan TV scheduled episodes. They're shorter and cover less than the DVD/original version. The TV eps are around 35 minutes each, and the DVD ones generally are around 46-48 minutes each (and include OP and ED songs and mini-theatres, when there are any). I'm not watching the TV version, but I have this impression they're already at least an episode (or more) behind the DVD eps with the same number.
That, ladies and gentlemen, was the never-empty bottle of room-temperature water. They exist. There's proof of…
Gu Xiao is under SanSan's command already LOL. He doesn't even know what hit him, yet.
Dr. Du is just the cutest. "Who are you and what have you done with Gu Wei?! Show yourself, alien person! Where is the doctor I came to know?"
LZX: Why oh why did you come to pick THIS appt here, right next door, why? (Say it's because you get to live next to the prettiest girl in China, do! **hearteyes**) Gu Wei: The rent is low.
LOL his expression.
Also, does Gu Wei's dad just sooo subtly looks like Gumpa from Not Me LOL? I was waiting for him to start training Gu Wei in parkour LOL.
BTW, Lin ZhiXiao didn't go to that mall to shop - she went to bring a wrecking ball to it and destroy everything in her path LOL.
I found a douban post saying those teacups were from Hermes . (https://www.douban.com/group/topic/262794611/?_dtcc=1&_i=7827905QFEusLa).…
It looks very similar, but the one in OOL is in a different color scheme, the upper border is different, and so it the handle of the cup (and not painted either.) And what's so cute about them is that they look more like porcelain mugs, LOL, and not really teacups (they're more in a V shape than in a straight formal one.)
But they're so cute, and even the aliexpress ones are not actually pricey (and look more like the ones in the drama). I think I might indulge :D
I remember how the ML was listening outside the door while one of the "customers" (who wanted to humiliate the MC) tried and couldn't do it, but still beat him up for it. And then, after that guy leaves, the ML gets to hear the MC wash himself and prepare for another so-called "customer". And the ML eventually realizes the MC doesn't remember anything, and leaves. him. there. That turned me off it very very fast.
Not even MoRan allowed anyone else to abuse Shizun, though he, himself...
Meatbun must have a sadistic streak a mile wide and a few miles long, LOL. If it wasn't for the stairs scene (after mending the rift in MoRan's second life), I probably wouldn't have endured 2ha either :D That one part of the story kept me there for the whole painful - and sometimes joyful - length of it. I couldn't wait to see LYX as Shizun, but then the Chinese had to go and add more censorship again. *Sigh*
OMG I know it!!!!!!! I even started it, but it's thousands of times worse (as in, sadistic) than even 2ha (which is quite a high bar to pass, too.) I just... couldn't pass the first few times the MC has to allow himself to be raped as an enslaved prostitute for a guilt that's not even his (yeah I did read spoilers LOL), and seeing the ML allowing it to happen, why the heck would that happen?!
So I took a few steps back and then got involved with (so many many more) other danmei novels, LOL. But maybe sometime, if I feel I want to feel hurt and pain a lot. I don't think I've seen it finished in TL either, so there's time.
No, I don't blame the BL lit on MDZS, I was reading BL and Yaoi for twenty years before I ever happened upon The Untamed. But for the danmei part, yeah, MXTX is to praise LOL. Particularly for MDZS and SVSSS. And there are SO many more other out there! I just found myself a new taste for reincarnation stories LOL.
LOL, the mini theatre at the end of ep9. "Just learn to code". Yup, my brain must be of the smaller size variant,…
Gu Wei: Weather forecast for today predicts rain, dress appropriately. Lin ZhiXiao: *Rosy Gu Wei leans in romantically to whisper: It's gonna rain!* but instead she's hearing: IT'S RAINING MEN! HALLELUJAH!! And I'm gonna go out and let myself get ABSOLUTELY. SOAKING. WET!!!
All these while Gu Wei does Uniq's EoEo dance LOL. Because seriously why not.
Gu Xiao, better grow up faster. Time's running out.
Episode 8 (DVD) mini theatre (because there isn't and there should be one.)
Wei WuXian: Spice is life. Food with no spice is not food. Lin ZhiXiao: Hear, hear! Gu Wei: As a gastroenterologist, I beg to differ. Food should be bland and in small portions, to keep heat from forming inside your body. That is my proffessional opinion. Wei WuXian: La-la-la, I can't hear you. Besides, with tastes like those, no girl in Lotus Pier would look at you. Isn't that right, Lan Zhan? Lan WangJi (red in the face from the spice, no expression anyway): Mn. Lin ZhiXiao: Hear, hear. I want to move to Lotus Pier too! Gu Wei: *heartbreak sound* But food should be bland! Lan QiRen: Hear, hear. Wait, is that the YiLing Patriarch... WEI YING!!!
**everybody dashes away, LZ and WWX on LZ's sword *smirk*, Gu Wei and Lin ZhiXiao back through the isekai tunnel, and LQR is left fuming. But at least there's no spicy food in Cloud Recesses!)**
You mean the fall of the Khwarazmian Empire because they killed Gengis Khan's messenger? It probably happened,…
There are more details to the story, actually. In all of them, the morale is "don't kill the messenger" (particularly when the messenger comes from someone more powerful than you, and unpredictable to boot.)
One of the versions is this: Genghis Khan saw the potential advantage in Khwarezmia as a commercial trading partner using the Silk Road, and he initially sent a 500-man caravan to establish official trade ties with the empire. However, Inalchuq, the governor of the Khwarezmian city of Otrar, attacked the caravan that came from Mongolia, claiming that the caravan contained spies and therefore was a conspiracy against Khwarezmia. The situation became further complicated because the governor later refused to make repayments for the looting of the caravan and handing over the perpetrators. Genghis Khan then sent again a second group of three ambassadors (two Mongols and a Muslim) to meet the Shah himself instead of the governor Inalchuq. The Shah had all the men shaved and the Muslim beheaded and sent his head back with the two remaining ambassadors. This was seen as an affront and insult to Genghis Khan. Outraged Genghis Khan planned one of his largest invasion campaigns by organizing together around 200,000 soldiers (20 tumens), his most capable generals and some of his sons.
The famous Mongol general Subutai got to eventually track down the fleeing Shah (but he died under mysterious circumstances before he could be caught and made an example of, which was what the Mongols probably intended). Inalchuq, the original offender, got do die with molten metal poured down his throat, poor guy, very much GoT style.
So I guess it's a story better known in China than in the West (because we don't like to be reminded of our military defeats, and Genghis came and basically conquered and looted whatever he wanted, LOL. And it's probably part of Chinese history, since they were already in the Mongol Empire at that time.)
I am basically 10 minutes into ep8 (DVD), and I just got a sugar high from Dr. Gu telling her he's giving her the coat because he's a doctor and doctors prevent illnesses (and then giving himself a little check and small head nod, like he's saying, "Yup, precisely, that's what doctors DO! It's not gonna LOOK suspicious AT ALL!") and I'm all over the floor laughing OMG.
They're too cute. If this keeps up I'll have to watch the episode in parts LOL.

When she's jealous, it's kind of cute (because he's that into her.) When he's feeling swept aside it kind of hurts.
Good thing that the mini theatre exists to wash away some of the pain.
So when Gu Wei is already changing that future she planned, she's left drifting. Thanks for the find!
Then again, I'm there for Shizun. **Shizun fangirl forever**
