So, from initial comments this looks like a mirroring drama to D+'s Twelve. Dealing with myths of another faith (and kind of clumsy with it, too), not really applauded plot or pace, just good cast. At least they didn't have an inexperienced actor starring in it write it, I guess.

But first impressions across the board seem to find it lackluster.

I really hope this doesn't pull funding from actually good Korean-inspired fusion/fantasy. They managed to write and produce pretty good ones, even completely original (look at AoS), they should stick with what they're comfortable with for a while instead of writing fan-fiction level drek about cultures they're not familiar with...

Yes, Eternal Faith (it even has a page here on MDL). But the leads are now big names, I don't think their agencies or whoever has the rights will ever release the drama *sigh*.

IMHO, The Scum Villain's Self-Serving System is a lot more approachable than TGCF LOL. And a lot shorter. And - also IMHO - Shen QingQiu is a LOT more funny than anyone else in MXTX's novels :D That one has a first season out of a donghua, but it's 3D, so less artsy than the other two. Still cute.

Read her other novels. There ARE already filmed dramas for one of it (Heaven's Official Blessing - TGCF) and for one other marvellous danmei (The Husky and his White Cat Shizun - 2ha or hyx) but Word of Honor was too big for the censors (they slept through the whole of it) and then they woke up and tightened the screws on danmei. We probably won't ever see them unless someone takes the plunge like they did with The Spirealm.

But there are always the novels. (I'm about at least 100 danmei novels deep now, and not counting as individual volumes of the same novel, LOL).

There are gems out there... but you can't watch them as dramas, you need to read them :)

And outside danmei, there are still great bromances (that don't actually slip, LOL) - like Nirvana in Fire (this one is most definitely not romance, but it has the best world building in cdramaland) or Fangs of Fortune (one of the best chemistries between all leads I've ever seen. And loads of pretty. So much pretty...)

Listen, I don't know this actor. I haven't watched his dramas. I know what a big thing this could be - or not. I know his family is hurting like mad right now, wondering what they could have done to save him, wishing to turn back time in order to get to him before it happened. And I know it doesn't go away. Ever.

What is going on in the media - and here in this topic of MDL, too, first posting this article instead of even announcing his passing or giving a tribute, then all the people commenting on how it's a masked murder and not an accident or suicide, and all gory details that could be real or fabricated, on that this account on some Chinese socia media or another, that says - with "uncontestable proof" they may have just invented that it happened like this or like that - you're all just flaming a fire of self-indulgent fake outrage.

You don't know the truth. Most of you don't actually care if any of it is true. Most are here to fan the flames because they love to see the fire going. Don't pretend to care about what really happened to him.

But if you REALLY care about this man, at least keep the decorum for his family's sake. They don't deserve to be dragged through this, they already think they're guilty for not doing something, ANYthing. Inflaming a freaking conspiracy about his death will make his family consider that there might be some truth to it when it might just NOT. And that will hurt them even more, on the long run.

You will forget this in a week or two. They will have to live with his absence. Let them mourn their son / relative in peace and decency, for crying out loud. Not every death needs to be a spectacle for bystanders.

So he was found dead (or dying) at 5.10 AM but at 5.50 AM he was sending messages about being blocked from leaving (I thought he fell from his own window?) and scary emojis? And the supposed close friend also confirms he was dead/dying by 5.30 AM too?

Like, seriously? You all are so willing for this to be a scandal that any crazy rumour will get a chance at getting viral because ~China?

Also, freaking mosquito screens are frail as heck, someone leaning on them by accident would have a chance to fall through (cats manage it all the time, too, sadly). If he was indeed drunk, it's a scenario with a high chance of being true that he might have been careless for a second - that's all it takes - leaned on it and broken through.

But yeah, that doesn't get the titillations of a suspected murder, oh, so gruesome, oh so interesting. All in the name of justice obviously.

I'll choose to believe his own mother, who also asked for her dead son's intimate life's details NOT to be spread around and for unfounded rumours to stop. If anyone would be willing to fight for their family's rights, it would be the family. And they seem most distraught with the hype of the cnetz instead of crying out for justice.

OMG, a star-studded kdrama reaching 6.2 on MDL. This is history in the making. Now I'm not even that mad about all that time I've wasted on TIH, that one still has 6.7 or so, I think, so it should be a masterpiece compared to this one.

PHS needs to make a proper superhero drama now. Even if he gets to be the villain. But it just needs to have a proper production team, an actual scriptwriter, a good director, and also a good support cast. Here's hoping.

TBH I kind of remained rattled since that one episode, and no matter how lovey-dovey they are now, the impression is fixed. It doesn't help that Gao Tu doesn't come on screen for more than one minute per episode now.

Oh well, two more and it's over.

... like what happened to Baby Zhang's character before coming back to the Moma building? She just ceased to exist after she returned home one evening and her husband never confronted her again and she went poof LOL.

Or what did happen to Jiang YuWen, did they give him the powered-up RAN 2.0?

What happened to the bio professor, was he treated too?

What happened to WanQing or her body?

Did An Lan's mom actually wake all the way up?

I kind of liked the playboy heir too, what happened to him after the kidnapping? He didn't get to return to the building like Tang Xin.

And did Ding Qi get the RAN 2.0 or not? 'Cause it sure looks like in the new loop he remembers so either he didn't get it or it doesn't have the effect to cut the looping power. In which case, how is his heart going to take it?!

So yeah, I'd rather love to see another season at least.

ETA Anyway, at first I though their RAN drugs worked on the telomeres, since one of the effects is faster aging, but since the effects are all over the place, I guess not. Or at least not only that. OR it might be that it does actually only work on telomeres, just that it affects parts of the DNA differently - weak points or the whole telomere, maybe. Or maybe it just attacks the telomerase in some way.

Good ending. In terms of what I like better, it's still Reset, but I would definitely not say no to another season of this one.

I kept expecting them to bring in some info on the title (since it looks like a direct link to the Moebius strip) but got nothing. I guess they presumed people would just remember it and make their own connotations, LOL.

Oh well. I liked it, even with the loose ends.

ETA Wait, I forgot Rong Zi Shan had a guest appeareance in this one, LOL, when I saw him I thought he would be one of the plot lead threads, but oh well.

And also - were they really only speaking mainly Cantonese throughout? I think a few times they were using the official Mandarin (like with Maggie) but otherwise, it was pure dialect. I got used to the Mandarin in all former mainland dramas, LOL, the dialect kept pulling me out, trying to remember how it would sound in the ~official~ language.

Mid-13, Ding Qi dead-drops "I also know stuff, I have an iQiY subscription."

That was THE smoothest PPL/commercial I've EVER seen in a drama. EVER. Completely took me by surprise, LOL. (And yeah obviously the drama is on iQiYi. Which reminds me, iQiYi - Oh No! Here Comes Trouble Season 2 WHEN?)

Why did he just faint/die in the 3rd loop? Was there some toxin in that safety box, or was he exhausted, or do all loopers eventually die because of reasons?

And they never revisited it in the 4th loop, come on Ding Qi, what the hell is going on?

If they keep some alien in that secret lab I'll die laughing. Maybe it's An Lan's friend. And is Maggie's mom also a looper OR is Jiang YuWen telling her how to do stuff?

After 10th, this is frustrating...

I love character driven dramas, and also good plots. This is absolutely the best cdrama of the kind I love, IMHO. Haven't yet found anything like it, though I kept looking.

Don't expect a lot of romance, this is mostly historical and pretty heavy in tone. But if you're okay with bromance, there's going to be plenty of that (non-romantical). And it's very, very much worth the time. Give it a try.

And then the extras :D

What if time doesn't repeat but instead it vibrates? It definitely looks like all 5 loops share similar points (nodes), and if he changes something, there's a chance the ventrae also move. And maybe Ding Qi's brain vibrates on the same harmonics so he can "see"/"feel" all the vibrations at once and gets to pick the one that will have the desired result for him, only he experiences them separately because his brain can't handle it.

At this time I think they're going to find out who the jumper is and what's his role in it, and that botanical professor definitely is still involved ('cause of the hallucinogen given to the ex of the bride), and An Lan is part of some kind of vast network that anchors the vibrations, too.

IMHO the bad guy/gal is Baby Zhang's character, just because I have some beef with the actress, LOL. And she's definitely suspect anyway.
