I might be just a cynic on this, but other than this... there's just too much lack of knowledge over a too long period of time to easily believe it.

I don't have a dog in this race but seriously, who the hell has a big business and no legal dep't that would KNOW how business registration and things work?! They DO have lawyers because they write and sign contracts, who would actually BELIEVE they didn't ~know they were supposed to have a license in order to operate?! And even if they - supernaturally - had the worst legal counsel that couldn't tell them they're operating unlawfully... didn't the previous one or ten scandals on this theme warn them to at least check if they're legal or not?

LOL, I know businesses cut all possible corners, but they must think people are really dumb to come up with the ~we didn't know this was the law~ excuse.

So - theories -

1. the kid has something to do with it (or is it the deja vu he mentioned in the discovery of rules?)

2. the girl who retracted the message also has something to do with it, I wonder who she is.

First ep is a great opening, LOL. Speed, Matrix and a bit of Point Break (maybe a bit of Johnny Mnemonic also, just because of the suits LOL) all rolled into one - like seriously, BJT is so much like Keanu in this one (in his younger days). And then after the intensity of the first half, that test-the-rules part with the water guns, I can't, LOL.

The ED sounds a bit like Backpacker, *approved!

Also the Emperor (I know it's Bi WenJun, I can't remember the character's name LOL, and I just finished the series...): I wanted to GIVE her to you so she lives on, but FIRST!!! I had to kill some more of my soldiers in order for you to show off. Also here's an antidote for some poison that nobody or their mother ever mentioned before in a drama full of all kinds of poisons and spells etc.
Jin'An (after killing those soldiers with the FLAMMENWERFER!! and also destroying the whole procession and stuff and almost killing the Emperor himself): Thanks bro. Be better at being an Emperor. (No or else 'cause he and the missus will be busy kthxbye).

My brain during the above exchange, in a science-y mood: You KNOW, after about 4 minutes without oxygen the brain cells start dyi...
Also my brain, under threat (by me): On the OTHER hand, shut up and buy it, this is fiction, she can not be breathing for a week if the plots asks for it.

The SnowWhite scene, sometime later:

LX (who before was ready to swear ALL medicine is exact and will work on time): It could be 5 or even 10 days, who knows. *throwing Mo Yin under the bus* That's what Mo Yin said.

TBH, the first half moved WAY better. He's a very good carefree character, and his smile lights up the room. In the second half, what with the plot going all over the place and him getting back his memories only the scriptwriter knows when, it was a bit of a letdown. And a lot less skin LOL.

He might make me try LOTFG again (though that one's first ep is a complete disaster).

There was a lot of chemistry going on with the main charas, not a lot for everyone else. Also, everyone else didn't have a lot of story to kill their time, either. Not complaining, 'cause the romance is what kept me here, and it's the rule that the MCs' romance takes top time.

Anyway - I am sorry, again, Song Yi is a good actress... but completely unconvincing as a female general of any kind (even of the kind that stays on a high ground and just directs soldiers, not fight herself.) She couldn't weigh more than 45 kilos or so, and most of what was bulk was the costume. I can't take that seriously (I don't expect the Hulk, but at least dub the military orders, dammit, she squeaks so much it's distracting. If I were a soldier, I'd die laughing (or if not, by martial law for laughing at her or something, LOL).

So, all's well that ends well. I was entertained.

Most Abs-Worthy Exceptional ML Award goes to Jin'An (obviously). There never was anyone like him, so ready to show skin even when in his princely character, LOL. Not complaining AT ALL.

Most Beautiful Villain Award goes to Dowager Empress Qin - I WANT some of those beautiful lace-like head parures she had on. And IMHO she was prettier than the FL. It might be the head gear that took my complete attention everytime she was on screen, LOL.

Most Still-Cute-As-A-Button Character in a Support Role Award goes to Mo Yin. I can't help it, Darren Chen will ALWAYS be Tang Fan, and Tang Fan was the cutest puppy on Earth since creation.

Most Useless Army When the ML Isn't Around Award goes to the Yao Army. I'm sorry you were there only for something the FL to beat, LOL.

Most Useless Villain I've Forgotten the Name Of Since He's Gone Award goes to that other prince, I've forgotten his name. The Emperor's older bro, whatever.

Best Scene That Doesn't Involve the ML's Abs Or Smile Award goes to the prison scene in the next-to-last ep. That one was actually well-lighted for her and I finally could buy she was some kind of warrior. Her voice squeaking on military orders definitely didn't help, don't come at me, I just... didn't buy it at all, LOL.

Not much actual violence, some slight gore (skeletons, corpses, some smashed heads (not lethal), actually a lot of smashed heads LOL.)

Lots of tough talk, also.

Just try it, it's very much worth it.

You know, people like good romances, but also people LOVE and remember tragedies.

Just read the novel's ending above in the drama's discussion topics, it works like a charm.

It's their own voices for most of them, but not for Bai Lu, she wasn't available when they had to do the dubbing. The VA they chose for her really sounds very much like her, though, they really tried hard.

It's about why he looks different now. There's going to be a reveal about the cause of it in about ten more eps. Have a bit more patience :)

CQL made me join MDL, LOL. I've been here for five years now, and a lot of us lurking around on this drama's page are still hooked. So come on right in, there's always a place for a new fan :) (and the story is absolutely worth it anyway).

Good news, there's more. Of MDZS there's also the donghua AND the chibi donghua (sugar overdrive) AND the audio drama, and the ongoing manhua :D

And the author, MXTX, also wrote two more incredible danmei novels. And after MXTX there's a whole universe of danmei, some of which has also been adapted into dramas - even Chinese productions, too :)
