Yup, I still have the scars from that drama, LOL, do they show? I wear them as badges of honor (since I never did get my I-Survived-Watching-TIH badge... I guess there were too many people more deserving, who maybe had some faith in it, or something, LOL).

Anyway, here's hoping that even if this does turn into a copycat, at least they're doing it the right way :D (though I'd always rather have a Monte Cristo revenge instead, obviously...)

It definitely looked like he and the prosecutor-new-husband have a better relationship than what appeared in the wedding venue. Maybe they did plot things together.

Nice add-ins are the two perspective heirs - the nephew (who looks innocent, but this is a chaebol drama, he might be the devil behind the scenes) and the illegitimate son (who probably will end up being the actual heir because of reasons.)

I don't mind, as long as it doesn't actually turn into a (better plotted) TIH copycat.

... But seriously, that's ALL her motivation to ditch him and marry another - as he put it, she got up from his bed in the morning and was wed to another by noon, WTAF - she wants to learn what happened to her dad? And for that she marries someone she doesn't basically even know, and dumps her forever-love blah blah blah... with a text after the fact?!

Keeping fingers crossed there's more to that.

Anyway, let's see what happens next.

LOL, so far this has the same vibes as TIH, compressed to only two eps :D, but with a competent FL actress. I sure hope they'll diverge some from that kind of plot.

At least according to the preview, it looks like they'll just get back to the sea rescue next week, which bravo!, because let's have him get his revenge instead of backstory.

Haven't watched it either, I guess we'll soon find out :D

Edit Wait no, she's just a dumb b!tch trying to do a revenge plot thing that's way over her head. Yup, idiocy confirmed...

So let's say the ex-NIS leader comes to her grandfather and says hey, my son the prosecutor is going to audit and prosecute you to death and you'll end up in prison for life. So why not have your granddaughter marry my son and we'll let bygones be bygones.

And she agrees to it because they're threatening DongJoo's life over it, too...

I didn't expect to like this first ep so much. I like the leads, they have perfect chemistry with each other, the sets are lavish, and while it might turn into the regular chaebol-politics-revenge kind of drama, at least they didn't start out the normal way, with inner fighting, but with someone actually being betrayed for no obvious reason (so far).

And finally a normal-length kdrama, I'm totally down with that.

HaeSong rocking the school costume like Vanilla Ice launching on the Ice Ice Baby intro LOL. (The point being the oldschoolcool obviously LOL)

Meanwhile all the actually cool girls in town looking like SeongHwa and YunHo are singing them Yare Yare every night to get them to put the phone away and go to sleep hahaha~

He's the only one she managed to get off the bus before time reset and so the only (other) one who remembers.

So... season 2, are we there yet?

I'm kind of upset... I don't trust him anymore and it hurts. I don't think SiYuan should trust him either.

So PHU just went away, and his dad (?) never faced any problems for tazing the cop, and the cop just... disappeared from the final part of the story? Because... why?

And nothing about the crazy guy with the gun? Lee Jun's knife wound just... closed up? ('cause he was in school the next day to see PHU perp-walked)

They wasted the whole ep9 instead of tying up some of these loose ends just to favour a final boss fight that wasn't even all that amazing (Naruto-style-invisible moves and faster-than-lightning speed?! Like, SERIOUSLY? WHY, when they did fight awesomely before without becoming ninjas?!)

The OST is still great, though.

It started off way more powerful than it ended, TBH. It kind of lost steam in the final half and pulled a deux-ex-machina ending that's not really an ending (I guess there'll probably be a season 2 in talks.)

Also, WTF physics... :-(

....It feels like ep9 is a complete waste of time for a 10-ep series, what the heck...

For me, they work perfectly as a threesome, with ZY in the middle. YiChen can be the naive/cool/protector gong of the family, while Li Lun can be the trickster/chameleon/crazy shou of the gang. ZY can just switch. And when the madness comes upon him (as it seems fated to do periodically...) he can mess with both of them at the same time LOL.

... Maybe invite Ran Yi to play arbiter from time to time, LOL. Just sayin'. I mean, all the male demons in that drama sent such strong BI vibes, it drowned any chance for het romance :D (Ying Lei and Bai Jiu should be made illegal, wait, it already is, LOL).

I was interested in reading the manhwa (bought the first volume as a gift to someone else and leafed through it for a bit), but seeing the comments on changing key points of the character development or portrayal I think I'll just wait it out. I mean, I've already seen massive blunders in kdramaland, I am not that ready to see it fail in kmovieland too. We'll see how word of mouth goes when it comes out.

By ep20, 4 of the 5 are married, and the last one and the adopted one aren't (yet).

First daughter marries a scholar, Du YangXi. This is the second story.
Second daughter is already married to a foolish but loving husband, Fan LiangHao. This happended before the drama's timeline starts.
Third daughter marries a merchant, Chai An. This is the first story.
Fourth daughter marries a judge, Shen HuiZhao (this is where I'm at.) This is the third story.

No idea who the 5th and the adopted daughters marry (not there yet.)

Each love story/marriage is episodic, the drama focuses on each one separately.

ETA This REALLY feels like a Chinese Pride and Prejudice for the first love story and some parts of the rest, LOL.

(On 19) I said I wanted a Li son to appear, wait, no, not like that!!

That's the most BL threesome ever, LOL. And then Wen Xiao and Pei SiJing were kind of suspect, too, or at least Wen Xiao was all handsy all over PSJ LOL.

They can pretend all they like, but those looks and those innuendos don't lie :D And let's not even mention the ancient dragon and his lover, errrr, best friend forever.
