The scenery looked so fake, like screen printing. Not even 4K printing!
The scenery did look fake... I thought this drama had a higher budget... where did all the money go?
I still loved episode 22 despite the fake scenery. The shots were beautiful. I especially enjoyed the lingering forehead kiss and Anle's complex expression.
Episode 22 must be my absolute favorite after episode 18. Episode 22 was everything I imagined for this scene, and lived up to the expectations of my imagination from reading the novel.
My absolutely favorite scene is the one where Hanye carries Anle on his back… the look of one carrying his world on his back, the silent smile, the sadness slowly creeping in his eyes with each step forward… the slow and steady step… each step lingering in its sweetness knowing this moment once gone… will be gone… his look of quiet devastation when they were finally rescued by AN, WS and MB, as he’s clearly not ready to let go… “Ziyuan… it’s time. We should go back.” His facial expression resolute, it’s time to return to reality. It’s a bittersweet scene.
Unlike the bright and warm morning sunlight peaking through the leaves shining on them when Anle is carrying an injured and unconscious Hanye into the valley… the lighting is dark and grey, with the sun setting on the couple as Hanye carries an injured and tired Anle out of the valley, their sanctuary, where they were just free to be themselves.
I even forgive the production for fake looking scenery and terrible fake vegetation.
They really decided to keep the cliff scene… I mean, they could have reshot the scene where GongJun is flailing his arm like he’s swimming in bad CGI… such an intense scene turned into instant comedy. I can’t believe the director actually okayed this shot. wow.

Everything to protect…. what did he do? I mean aside from the changing the emperor’s edict, years of writing and sending her gifts, years of denying marriage because Di ZiYuan will be the only crowned princess, lying to the emperor from the fire, preventing her from joining the crowned princess selection, and finally, running into the fire for her.

I’m stuck on this drama like I was on Goodbye My Princess.
