Ok so I finally watched todayâs episodes in full. So was that assassination where FFYY threatened to kill XY - Xinyueâs attempt to get rid of XY?? Because that is lame as heck, was she even trying? And Hou and Jing looking like theyâre two school kids shoving each other lol
They really dragged on the wedding scene when they could have spent more time showing us all the events that were omitted! Definitely much more exaggerated than needed but kudos to the amazing acting! Havenât seen YZ act cray cray before so it was nice to see her in a different light.

I totally forgot a lot of the scenes that were omitted - whether it was with CX, TSJ or XL because of this series lol. I need to reread the novel. Some fans highlighted the OG scenes below and man we missed out on so many scenes
Someone brought up a good point on weibo. So I looked at the chapters for the leaked script again and do not see any scene related to Xinyue trying to kill XY. If they omit that part, then the while confrontation between Xinyue and XY is obsolete. Then FLâs death - where he requests CX to look out for Xinyue as the empress - isnât really necessary is it?
And basically CX doesnât have to confess his love for XY - since the confrontation XY has with Xinyue wonât happen.
Also the whole leaked confession scene with CX makes absolutely no sense - about feeling guilty of choosing the throne over XY. He was obsessive til the end in the novel, so they wanna make him a green flag now? Looool then there is no reason for XY to leave him at the end where he can no longer find her
And XL requesting XY to give him as much blood as she can spare (which he uses to revive Jing in the novel) - will this still happen? Probably not needed anymore if Jing saved himself???

Agreed, in a historical lens this was not taboo. I can understand everyoneâs sentiments. But in the novel, just like how it was hinted that she loved XL. There are parts that hint she had love for CX beyond that of a family love. And under different circumstances, especially if he recognized her and didnât push her away, that love would have grown to even more. They did promise each other to marry when they were older lol so there is that (lines were redubbed in the drama tho)
I swear the whole ending at 18 better not be a dream.
