How come he brought her to do all the seals? There must be a reason beyond spending time with her. In one of the last chapters Shenli mentions that at that time, one person was suspicious and the other had murderous intentions. So it seemed like he had his motives?
Even tho XingZhi is quite candid but he is still hard to read at times haha
This Drama is so unpredictable and I love it. xianxia tend to be predictable for me but I don't know where we're…
I usually avoid xianxia because they all follow the same trope, so this is refreshing. Although their mortal realm scenes remind me of yehua and baiqian/susu in Eternal Love
Some questions to those who have read the entire novel below
From the snippets of the beginning and ending of the novel, it seems that the drama follows the main plot pretty closely. So could someone share some spoilers:
1. Xingzhi did not know her true identity as Lord Bicang from the get go right? So what were his motives in approaching her in the mortal realm where they first met? Pure curiosity/boredom?
2. Did he plan on sacrificing her for the seals in the beginning (ep 9/10)? There is a reason why he took her to conjure the seals right? I don’t think it was random when he says that he is the type to eliminate threats/problems before they become one (in the scene with the wild boar).
3. When did he fall for her? Mortal realm? I feel like his actions do not line up with his words and I want to think he at least has some interest in her to tease her, or was this his way of keeping her (potential threat/sacrifice) close?
I think I figured out what has been bothering me about the look of this series. For most of the male actors their…
Omg yeah having some bangs or a strand or two would’ve made a difference. I thought I saw photos of him (probably when they were taking promo photos) where he had a strand or so.
You are onto something. In a sense ,he is cold towards her deliberately, but cannot help and flirt with her. I…
I read snippets of the novel linked in the forum - it seems his actions are never aligned with his words. He says he cannot like her but continues to create situations where he can be close to her. LOL it seems like he is quite shameless in the novel - has someone read the novel, am I right that he did a lot of things on purpose?
Did they totally omit the part about clearing their brothers’ name? That was the main reason for this mission…
I just finished watching the last few and they definitely wrapped that up quick lol. Surprised characters like prime minister Zhang accepted things so easily

Yes i recall that but figured they would show a scene where it is publicly announced in the country. Considering the amount of effort it took, it deserves a scene.
Dumb question (since I have yet to watch the remaining 6 eps fully). Was NYZ bound to die anyway due to the instability of his internal force? Even at the very beginning in ep 1 when he wanted to retire, it was sort of implied he wanted to spend his few remaining years away from everything. So even if he survived, he wouldn’t live long due to old injuries- unless his internal force was stabilized by the end?
Make it make sense LoL! I know I should watch the last 6 eps in their entirety but the ending feels so contradicting.…
Yes we do call other auntie even if they aren’t directly related. Thanks for the reminder. I will still need to watch the eps in full to appreciate it for what it is. I still think they could have done a better job with the writing and editing for the ending scene. Even the cgi effect was not good. I dont mind a SE or HE as long as it flows and makes sense. They didn’t need to show the characters riding together - I think that was what made things choppy and dream-like for me. Could’ve just been the convo between the kid and CY.
In the end, this is still one of the best dramas of the year. I love the OTP and the story.
In order to to be a true great, you have to nail the landing........ I've loved so much of this drama but the…
I don’t know why it’s so hard for scriptwriters to write a proper and logical ending. This happens to a lot of dramas, which totally kills it. This drama was so good so I’m surprised they played it out like this. Still love the drama but the weird ending really does ruin some of it
The director and writer of this drama wanted a sad ending, but the editor changed it by adding some basic CGI…
I wouldn’t mind a sad ending as long as it makes sense and ties up all loose ends. If they wanted a SE, why bring in a “ning shi san”? Just to show CY dreaming?
