After watching the series for a second time, I’ve changed my mind. I want XY to marry both XL and TSJ. 🤣
Best of both worlds lmao. But I also really like her dynamic with CX. I like them all and can ship her with all and see her with them in a different situation or alternate reality
The guards were bribed by the uncle to turn a blind eye to Cang Xuan's assassination attempt. Seeing as they were…
The assassination attempt was done by a separate set of guards (separate from the guards in front of the grandfathers place) - wouldn’t the fifth uncle’s men continue trying to kill CX? Or did they all rush to protect the grandfather
ah ep 38 was epic! CX and XY made such a good team, they were on the same wavelength. I really liked the way they filmed it. I love the piggyback scene too with the backdrop of flowers - I can't help but love CX and XY's bond (I love her dynamic with each of the guys). Even tho I'm happy TSJ is endgame, and XL is my fave, I also really like CX's relationship with XY which is something so close and intimate. I love his love for her (even tho I know he gets greedy later on, but he loves her deeply).
Can someone explain to me what XY's tactic was? Her last arrow was shot at a bunch of guards who were guarding in front of her grandfather's place - was that to make it look like the uncles did it? wasn't really sure what the brilliant plan was. also, the grandfather was just sitting there calmly playing chess with Jing and FL (not sure why Jing and FL came since they wouldn't be able to do anything).
Is it weird that I ship Ah Nian and Ru Shuo? lol they would make a cute bickering couple. Does Ah Nian ever find out about CX's love for XY (I assume not since I didn't hear anything about it, assuming only Xinyue finds out)? I know Ah Nian is aware that the two are closer, but I'd imagine she'd still be unhappy about it since she acknowledges XY as her sister.
Episode 36:Every scene of XY and CX always hits me. If they cry then I’ll cry with them. They hold powerful…
Omg their scenes are the most moving because of the things they went through and how they are the only closest family they have left in the world. The way they can be vulnerable in front of each other.
Her bond with Jing and XL is special, and I like them most. But the latter half of the series made me realize how her bond with CX is even closer. They could’ve been end game if they were never separated
It will be reveal in S2. The drug made him thought it was XY but he still refused because they were not married…
For someone so intelligent, I was a bit surprised he couldn’t figure out that it was a scheme on YY’s part. He should’ve known nothing happened! But them again I guess it’s hard to say when he blacked out
While two fandoms are fighting over the ship, I do think XY loved two men ( Jing and XL ) equally in her own way,…
Agreed. I also really sympathize with CX, she could’ve chosen him too and he had his chance but he pushed her to TSJ and FL. In the novel, he even talks about this. Under different circumstances, CX would have been end game. I know he becomes greedy and selfish in the end but his love for XY runs deep
Can someone who’s read the novel explain the bug situation - curious on the details of how it works. They say only two ppl in love can plant it in themselves, and they either live together in love or die in heartbreak. XL was able to transfer it from CX to himself because he had feelings at that point right? How was he able to control it so that XY wouldn’t feel anything - unless he forces her to feel it (eg there were a couple of scenes where she feels something).
Why does his heart hurt when he saw XY and Jing together after Jing brings her up from the ocean - was that his own pain or hers?
i cant shipped XY & CX since they vows with each other since they kids to be siblings so they won’t lose each…
That’s fair, altho I remember she said she would marry him so they can always be together. Maybe I remembered incorrectly. They call each other gege and meimei but that’s the norm - doesn’t mean they are siblings. They are cousins but would be normal for them to marry in that era.
He does achieve his goal - there was a tragic excerpt at the end of the novel where he says he reached his goal but lost XY along the way.
I think ZWY brought the depth so made me sympathize with the character more. Can say the same for the actors who play XL and TSJ.
people kept saying Xiang Liu is an abusive lover, but I believe that gentle and caring being when he and XY are…
He has a gentle heart by nature, and loves deeply. I love his bond with XY. However, I also don’t want to take away the fact that some of his actions and behaviours are neither healthy nor romantic. He is a demon, he didn’t know XY in the beginning, and he has his reasons for things, but if this were translated in today’s world it would be toxic (objectively speaking).
Quite sad he could not go with his heart and was determined to die in battle.
Never thought I’d say this, but after quickly skimming through the last few eps and the ending chapters of the story, I’m actually shipping XY with CX too?! Something about their bond and dynamic is just so beautiful. Putting aside his flaws and choices, it’s quite tragic and regretful that they weren’t endgame. He had his selfish desires but ultimately he always loved her from the beginning to end (which was the prime motivator for a lot of things). I can see why he is the main lead. He is quite layered and has his gentle yet ruthless sides. I appreciate how they can let their guard down and be vulnerable around one another. They fought together through many things and understood each other well. I was drawn to XL in the first half (even tho I support TSJ throughout the series), now drawn to CX haha. Kudos to the writer for creating all these wonderful yet flawed characters we can love and relate to.
