It looks like LL was a mashup of LMXs personal maid from the novel. With DCE, I couldn’t help but chuckle when LMX placed a male guard next to her, that was asking for trouble and def not appropriate in that era

Agreed. it felt so weird seeing the OTP getting married while LMX was dying at his place XD. i guess it was for the impact, but we all know DZY wouldn't have done him dirty like that. the wedding would've been a lot happier and nice after everything else was wrapped up

Yeah for filming sake, it is definitely important to showcase actors, especially the newer ones. E.g. DCE with her loveline (I'm pretty sure she didn't have a male bodyguard on the mountain) and LinLang (who I understand did not play as big of a role in the novel). I see a lot of comments confused about LMX's feelings because of the extra scenes with LL. Even the actors had to address it in a live video recently and confirm it was platonic love XD. But clearly they were trying to promote the actress who plays LL.

Because based on LL's reaction I remember she believed the flower would help him, however he grew it not for himself but to make DZY happy. He succeeded in a way since treating HY would make her happiest in the end. I guess they wanted to kill off LMX in the drama (unlike the novel) to leave a deeper impression on the viewers loool. Because in the novel, he and DZY were in the garden of flowers when he was near death, and later realized it was able to cure him.

I think the script made it seem LMX was confused but he only loved DZY. Even the actors for LL and LYN confirmed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gW_Sc4LsWAs&ab_channel=MD_%E6%AA%B8%E6%AA%AC%E6%B3%A1%E8%8A%99. LMX loved LL as family, DZY was romantic. Guess they wanted to put flashbacks/scenes of LL because they wanted to have more scenes with the actress.
With that being said, the actors for LL and LMX do have chemistry too.
