So two questions that will probably never be answered1) Why did Ziyuan's hair turn white, besides the assumed…
Yes LMX and DZY were engaged when she was born, glad they addressed that as it was in the novel. I guess it looks like LMX will die here (whereas he was saved last min in the novel with the flower). The flower will be used to cure HY’s eyes rather than LMX’s illness. I still love LMX :( even tho novel version was better
I wouldn't want that. LMX is one of the better characters who supported Ziyuan and Hanye in his own way. Plus…
Not sure why ppl dont like him, i guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion but he did just as much for her and protected her since she was young. I definitely think they made his character kind of pushy at times with the whole revenge plot, especially with what he did in the latest eps. If they had reflected his character from the novel, it would’ve been better
The script has not done any of the actors any favours but in most instances they have managed to rise above some…
I agree LMXs character was good up until recently - the whole scenario of him shifting gears to help DZY and then the fake death scene were unnecessary. He shouldn’t have been involved in the war - not realistic that he could travel miles on a horse with his condition. He is still my fave from the novel and i do like the actor.
i saw the preview of episode 37, so they will make han ye suffer till the end? can luo mingxi just die?
LMX is so good i dont want him to die. As for HY, he will get better and will be with DZY and their son later on. From ep 37 preview im pretty sure LMX will give the flower to heal HY’s eyes. The flower was supposed to be for DZY and potentially even cure hus illness, so he might die. Especially since the leads’ son will be named after Anning and LMX
This would have been a much better drama if it had two seasons and kept the female centric drama. Yes, many may…
Yes I miss the strong female leads (like how it was shown in earlier eps with DZY and even AN)! DZY has been a damsel several times - even the fight with Lengbei had to end with HY catching her and carrying her like a princess - for that typical romantic trope
So I have yet to watch ep 35 but saw trailers for the later eps and as predicted it looks like LMX will give the flower to help heal HY’s eyes. If I remember correctly this flower was able to save LMX in the novel (correct me if I’m wrong). So does that mean LMX dies in the drama? I assumed they would have a bunch of these flowers in DZY’s hometown so can’t they just get them there? I guess it can only be used when in bloom.
Wow I don't know the details of Anning's death in the novel, but I will say her fight and death scene was one of the more moving scenes in this drama so far - full of courage, honour and heart. Anyone know how it played out in the novel?
She must have been so exhausted by the guilt that ate her up inside from the moment she learned about the truth behind the massacre of Di family. She spent her life fighting for the country and shouldering her family's responsibility in atoning for their sins (when it wasn't something for her to fix). Perhaps death was a release for her, and only through this, she can be free and face Di family in the afterlife :(
With that being said, not sure why LMX was pulled into this. From what I hear, he had nothing to do with the war and definitely not her death. Then they pull a fake death and I fail to see the significance of this change in the story. Also, this really diminished DZY's character to a damsel, she is more than capable of fending for herself. But guess I gotta turn off the logic for some of the plot.
I think its pretty clear she loves HY, with all the expressions of heartache and hesitation everytime they see…
I agree. The expressions were subtle or should I say restrained. They had to suppress it a lot of the time and the actors did their job to do the microexpressions and acting via their eyes. I don’t see that with the way she looks at LMX
The emotional connection between Di Ziyuan and Luo Mingxi throughout the drama was too strong compared to her…
I think its pretty clear she loves HY, with all the expressions of heartache and hesitation everytime they see each other. In that moment, ofc she cut things off. Even if she doesn’t blame him for LMX’s “death” she would blame herself for AN’s. So much bloodshed and remorse stand between them, accumulating over time. She will let go after she realizes HY’s grand plan and that LMX’s death was faked. She will realize that she wants him to live and will be able to put things past them.
With LMX, he was with her since childhood and sacrificed his whole life dedicated to her and her family. He is her only family right now (since she has yet to find out Wen shuos identity - which will only fuel her grief over HY after he “dies”). So it’s understandable that she would have such a response when LMX was on the chopping board. Tbh LMX didnt love her less and its a shame they dont show those parts in the novel. Her heart was always with HY, she just couldnt face her family if she allowed herself to go with her heart to be with the “son of the enemy”.
I have my complaints about the series but wanted to take the time to appreciate the actors - leads and supporting roles! They have done a great job and are the reason I continue to watch and support.
After skimming ep 34, I will say I’m not surprised LMX is still alive - I mean we all saw that coming esp with yesterday’s previews right? Knowing HY, he would never kill him. I wish they stuck closely to the novel (esp with the interactions between LMX and DZY because LMX is my fave and bias and he had many good lines in the novel), but I do also like the drama version of LMX who is charismatic and edgier. I appreciate how both in the novel and drama, the male leads never actively fight over the girl. Even with DZY and the past tragedy that stood between them, the two men admire and respect each other. Perhaps they’d be even closer bffs if they were born as normal citizens. DZY is actually the person that brings them together.
It seems like LMX can only accept that the OTP will never let each other go. He prob knew DZY wouldnt be able to after he survived his “fake death” and heard of HY’s plans to protect her. Tbh i feel a bit sad because it doesn’t mean LMX did any less. They always sincerely sacrificed out of their love for her, which is admirable and cannot be compared. But anyway, that’s my second lead syndrome talking. Haha
In the novel, LMX never stepped into the war zone during the war. While DZY was at war, LMX stayed in the capital…
This makes more sense LOL. Realistically his health wouldn’t allow him to travel far anyway. I guess the drama version of the court ministers and emperor were too one dimensional to have to look out for
Anyway, feeling anxiety over the last few eps!
