LMX is my favourite character, and the certainly his role is the most well written in this drama. I agree with…
He is still my fave - both novel and drama. I mean thanks to him I have serious second lead syndrome. Just wish they didn’t water down the leads just to give him more of a role. Much of the action and planning was DZY
Gosh ep 28 was hard to watch, the angst is only getting started! I don’t get why LMX, DZY and HY have to be like that. I don’t want to criticize the script anymore because drama adaptations do not follow the original stories 100% but I just could not help but feel weird about it. For those who think LMX is plotting something big - all he wants is for DZY to claim what belongs to Di family. He is trying to buy time to help finish their missions. But from wht I gather, this was all DZY in the novel, it was her desire to claim it back because she didn’t feel that the emperor was a good leader. LMX never pushed her to do anything. So it seems like LMX took on a lot of her role in the story but it’s getting a little too much, his words were too harsh (perhaps cuhs his time is ticking, but didn’t have to talk down the leads like that). DZY appears more passive. HY just looked like a sad and pathetic puppy the whole time - did they purposely do this to the character lol? Poor guy isn’t to blame for his father’s doings. I appreciate him trying to atone his family’s sins and really feel for him, but why did they have to make his character so helpless like that, when he is a lot more?
Anyway! I’ll stop ranting. The show does have it’s pros. The actors are doing a fab job with bringing the characters to life and subtle expressions. There is still so much to cover and I’m anxious yet excited on how things will play out
The drama gave all the characters wrong depictions…DZY is a determined goal oriented person with precision and…
Yes! I wish they kept the characters consistent with the novel. The only reason why I liked the last couple of eps is because we see SOME maybe a tiny bit of the political intrigue and DZY’s plotting but ofc it’s nowhere near the level from what I hear from those who read the novel. Also I find the eps quite choppy and filled with unnecessary fillers - repetitive flashbacks and dancing etc. still enjoying parts of the show, it’s interesting to see a “darker” LMX and seeing the actors do their best but it def had more potential
Love does not mean he will go against his family without any prove. It was just her word without any prove. His…
I understand your point because in some ways I felt the same. ithink I kinda blame the way HY was written in the drama. He seems just a little weaker and naive than how he is in the novel (based on what mukkana kindly shared with us in the previous comments). No character is perfect of course and it’s the same for HY. I do believe it is a little selfish (regardless of his rather difficult position) to expect her to live as Anle (even if that obviously keeps her safer). I doubt he or Anning could just wait til someone is strong enough to help them if they were in her shoes. However I also see HY’s points on why he asked her to do that. At the end of the day, both characters are in such difficult spots - lol ideally they should’ve never fallen in love, but then we would have no story 😂
- The emperor is a paranoid guy who kills anyone who threatens the security of his throne. But other than that,…
Thanks! That’s a lot to expect from her if he actually loves her. Interesting how the Han and Di families have such fates lol, guess HY and DZY getting together make up for it
Just finished ep 25 - alas she reclaims her identity! Ngl I felt a little underwhelmed when she casually revealed herself, I mean I guess it doesn’t require a grand reveal but curious as to how it was in the novel. Anyone know?
Appreciate HY and AN for being ppl with high morals and values - they are not in an easy position. Also appreciate LMX for staying by Anle’s side, it would’ve been a hard and lonelier path without him. His devotion is no less than HY’s. I’m glad we were able to see flashbacks of their plan, was able to see Anle show some more action on her end rather than LMX.
I didn't read the novel (yet) but in the drama he is my favourite character. He is the only one who has realised…
Yeah i know Anle didn’t want to hurt HY and AN but it was inevitable. I’m thinking she was more resolute in the novel? Ofc its unfair to compare as drama adaptations will have its changes. LMX is def a bit more realistic in these situations.
