Lol I agree, you would think drama version LMX is smarter to not place a male bodyguard to watch DCE (I mean back then, it would be inappropriate and would cause potential issues?). The novel made more sense. Many characters were made one dimensional - leads, emperor, villains, etc, which is super unfortunate. Maybe they wanted a simple love story of star crossed lovers without the depth?

I would love to know too unless production purchased rights to the novel - I don’t know how it all works. For some films and dramas, I hear novel writers have a say while others are more hands off

I wonder if novel writers need to review the script before they give the ok or does the production company just purchase the rights of the novel to create adaptations. Would’ve been nice if the novel writer had a bigger role in the script lol

They will have a HE but I’m pretty sure it’ll be rushed and wrapped up easily since there aren’t many eps left - at least that’s what I’m afraid of

So in a recent interview with the main leads, it sounds like the OTP end up with a son named Han Ning Xi (named after AN and LMX im assuming). LMX doesn't die in the novel so curious if he does in the drama.

LMX has a fake marriage with DZY to lure HY out at the end so they can be together (rumour has it).

Wonder what will result from the flower LMX had grown - i think in the novel it had an antidote for his ailment but maybe he gives it to cure HY’s eyes?

Curious as to how it all plays out with these potential spoilers

Hah such a love/hate relationship for me. Knowing parts of the novel makes me mad because of the deviations from it but i also wanna see how it all ends in the drama. 😆

Ah that is a good perspective too. It seems like LMX never expected it and can only be in awe - you can see how the two respect each other when they talk (not playing on the same team but mutual respect because they are both good ppl and care about the same person)

Rumour has it that the death sentence is fake, with fake poison. HY wouldn’t do that since he knows LMX does everything to protect DZY but maybe he had to put a show for the public? There are photos and bts snippets of LMX with DZY (when she has grey hair) so he will live.

I see where you’re coming from but it’s pretty clear who FL is in love with based on her expressions whenever ML is brought up. It’s also by instinct that she tried to help him (eg jumping off the cliff after him). She loves him but cannot express it because of the many lives and bloodshed that stand in the way. As good as he is, he is the son of her enemy.

SML is like family to her, someone she has relied on since she was a kid. She wouldn’t survive without him. With all his sacrifices (and also poor health), it’s not out of the ordinary to show care towards him. He is the only family she had at the moment. Tbh sometimes she is quite indifferent and just business when she is alone with him, and even confided in him on her feelings for the ML (which is sad on his part cuhs SML is in love with her and his love for her is no less than ML but she loves the ML)
