I rewatched this drama years later and it’s funny to go back - now I realize how dramas have changed since then and how many classic drama tropes this one had (especially the slapping of people was popular back then :D)... either way, it’s still a good drama, worth the watch and working with a difficult topic. Plus, the tango sequence around the 7th episode is to die for, what a masterpiece that scene it!
I had to rewatch it because a) it was time and b) I wanted to make sure it’s still my favorite drama. Again, I didn’t manage to watch it casually and binge watched the hell out of it. Again, I was ugly crying for a good portion of it. Again, I discovered that the poetry in Goblin is to die for. Again, the OST shook my core. To me, this drama is so close to my heart, it makes me ache whenever I think about it too much.
Now I also understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, strangely enough there are people who don’t like it. And that’s fine. But! If you are deciding if you’re going to watch it or not, give it a shot for sure. Should you really like it like I do, it might change you :)
I just don’t understand how a man can be this beautiful! I know so many handsome Korean actors, but Jang Dong Yoon is almost too beautiful to look at. As a woman, as a man, polished or covered in blood... what was god thinking when creating him I wonder.
Where'd u get proper subs?? It's the most painful thing to watch with bad subs :'( :'( :'(
Hey there! Wow, you’re very welcome, I’m happy you enjoyed it :) I didn’t receive such a sweet reply in ages, so thank you! And indeed, I found so many subbed things on this website that are difficult to find anywhere else, it’s a hidden gem. Have fun with it <3
Interesting. This went from funny, to cute, to hard to believe, to impossible to comprehend and finally to so overdone, I prayed to the saints to make it stop. Such a shame! I was howling with laughter in the first half, but unfortunately the writing was so all over the place it seemed like a bot wrote the script of the second half (=didn’t make sense whatsoever). Also, you don’t need to be a psychologist or a scientist to see that the experiment was corrupted since pretty much the start, as it kept breaking its own rules and basic rules of conducting any experiment in general. I could forgive that, no issue, drama land is a peculiar place, but as it didn’t deliver any positive feelings towards the end, it was mostly a disappointment.
So first of all, how come I didn’t know about this drama at all? I stumbled upon it by utter chance, never heard anything about it, never ever seen a clip or something. How come, considering that it’s such a GEM?! Holy frick, I binge watched the hell out of it and even though it has its weak points, I loved it. It was different, it was fresh, it was beautiful and funny and sad. I’ll be honest, I was doubting my choice to watch it at first, specifically because of Chun Jung Myung. I only ever saw him in Running Man and remembered him as the timid guy with a boyish smile, definitely not male drama lead material. Mea culpa! I’ve been very wrong, god help me. He did so well with the character and his development, he sucked me in instantly and I believed him everything (which was also a tad problematic as he was a major asshole in the beginning :D). Back to the important stuff: Loved the plot, loved the psychological references and nuances, even though not always entirely verbalized (such as Yi Seok’s condition). Glad I watched it and will probably rewatch it in the future. And I was roaring with laughter at times, so that’s that.
I’m on episode 4 and woah! The ML on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is a sweetheart and 10 is an utter asshole would actually score a 12! That’s a first :D I’m not sure how he can get redeemed but hey, that’s part of the drama suspense :D
Guys? I didn’t know Park Seo Joon had a guest role in this movie, I lost my mind for a second there :D Overall, it was a good movie. Stayed with me for a while after I left the cinema. Strangely, I laughed during the horrific scenes as well, because it’s quite ridiculous where the family ends up within the plot. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but worth the watch.
Ah Park Seo Joon, you beautiful BEAUTIFUL man! If you were just sitting on a chair reading I could watch that for hours, no plot needed. Thankfully there was plot here, a classic exorcism movie with a bit more fighting - nothing groundbreaking, but Seo Joon was there which is enough for me to get paralyzed from the waist down. Also, Woo Do Hwan did a great job, he was creepy at times and gorgeous at all times. Long story short, eye candy, nice!
I had to take a few days to digest this drama and I think I made up my mind. As a premise it’s pretty good, it made me interested right away, it was funny for the most part. But honest to God, I cannot get over the first sex they had together (while in high school). The rape-y vibe made me anxious to no end, I just couldn’t forget about it and from how the FL put it, it was a haunting experience so I just can’t believe she would be ok with the same guy, years later. It would be a cute and funny drama, but this just makes me queasy. Also, nothing about the central problem in the story (the fact that he’s not able to have a hard on) has been resolved. I’m confused.
Seriously, im so happy to see another person appreciating this drama, it doesnt deserve all the hate imo!! Just…
I actually never thought about such reversal, it’s possible that it would raise some concerns. Honestly, now I would love to watch it that way! Not only to see if it would impact how I view the romance, but also to see a female character with Son Oh Gong’s qualities. Interesting thought :)
Did you ever wonder what some of the shoujo manga you’ve read would look like if it was turned into a drama,…

I can get behind anything that is happening there with one exception: If my best friend told me to give her a chance to steal my boyfriend, cause she deserves to give it a try, I would slap the shit out of her. Girl, do you have a death wish? That’s it, rant over :D
Did you ever wonder what some of the shoujo manga you’ve read would look like if it was turned into a drama, with all the little gestures and details? Turns out, it’s incredibly awkward :D This one was as close to a real-life manga as it can get I suppose, which made me feel two emotions very intensely: 1. I was unable to process how the actors could act out all these things without dying of embarrassment in the process; 2. It entertained the hell out of me :D You guys, my mouth was hanging open half the time, I didn’t know I needed this in my life but I guess it happened and I enjoyed it! Nothing about this is to be taken seriously, the characters start off and remain flat, the story is fan service pure but hey, you’ve been warned. It’s a teenage girl’s wet dream and delivers as such. Fun and awkward, cute and cringey, what more do you need?
