I saw a few very cute reels on Instagram from this drama and thought to myself "why not, I'll give it a go!".... Once again, I am washing dishes crying after completing it. K-drama turned K-trauma as usual. I'm tired.
It was a breath of fresh air nonetheless. Very nice drama.

I'm shocked due to the rating of this drama - it's such a gem! But let's be real, the mdl illness with rating the most bland, boring dramas a 10/10 and the loveliest pieces a 7/10 is very common.
Nonetheless! It was almost perfect. I was howling with laughter for a good portion of this masterpiece and the chemistry was top notch!
A huge plus for me: Ji Chang Wook is an amazing actor, but rarely gets well written characters to play. Here, he was given the opportunity to shine and god knows, he did shine. Whether it was sexual tension, anger, grief, he pulled it off perfectly.
This drama is definitely a new favorite.

My expectations were not super high for this drama but honestly, I had a good time with it. It was visually beautiful, the story made me think and Ji Chang Wook was excellent in this (what is it about this man crying that shakes up my core?) .
The only downside is that now my heart aches for Ri Eul, the pull to comfort and care for this man is overwhelming.

This drama was quite hyped up so I had some level of expectations.
It was quite vague in the beginning, then got a bit vague towards the middle and by the end it turned out to be surprisingly vague. I didn't feel it, didn't comprehend the motivation of the characters to do the things they were doing, mix in a bunch of loose ends and plot holes and that's pretty much it. Had potential, but unfortunately fell flat and chemistry was lacking for me.

Poor Jung Hwan, I was (for a second time) sure he's the one :D And even beyond that, I thought woah, Park Bo Gum usually plays the main love interest, it's interesting that he would not end up being the first lead in this drama.......... I should see a doctor.

I am HOWLING since the most ridiculous thing just happened: I watched Reply 1988 back in 2020 and rewatched it this week. According to my memory, the FL ends up with somebody else and I am currently shocked to discover (again) that that's not the case :D Shocked to the extent that I went looking for my comment on here from 4 years ago, where past me also conveys her shock from who ended up being Deok Sun's husband :D So ladies and gentlemen, take notes - if you don't like the final love interest in a drama you can always remember it wrong like I just did lmao <3

I did not fully anticipate that I'll cry through the entirety of the last episode (or that I'll continue crying throughout the subsequent dish washing and showering and all that followed), but here we are.
This drama feels so so good until it doesn't. Much like life tends to be.
I have to appreciate the attention to detail that this drama has been given, I have to be in awe about how well the emotion seeped through the screen. The break up, the words that have been said, the tying of shoelaces and the most heartbreaking goodbye. I am not okay.

This is getting a lot of hate but I actually really liked it! It made me laugh and honestly I can't get over how absolutely gorgeous Rowoon is in this drama!! Not even "I want this to be my man" kinda gorgeous, I literally want to BE him lol - confusing to my gender identity 😁

I wonder what happened here? I was howling with laughter until episode 7 and from there it started to become very boring for me, no decent joke, no fluttering heart. Loved the ML but all of a sudden he was an empty shell of a character. Too bad, could have been a new favorite.

I just finished it and I already forgot that I watched it.
Also, I can't seem to get over the atrocious bird's nest the ML is wearing on his head...

Ah lovely! Zero likeable characters, everybody annoying at best, unhinged is more like it. And assault of course, since that gets the romance going. Lovely!

This is such a cute and lovely drama, I really love to rewatch it, my heart flutters everytime.
I also love the fact that both the FL and ML never wear a winter jacket / coat twice 😂 How many coats do you own?? I adore this inconsistency so much ❤️

Ah poor Jung Hwan and his countless hesitations leading to the loss of his love. My heart is breaking for him. Taek is such a lost puppy type of guy so I would be upset about him being left behind too and as a polyamorous relationship between the three of them is not an option, this couldn't have ended without heartbreak on my part...

Reply 1988 is a really good drama, relatable, sweet and funny. I have the same problem with it as with its predecessor 1994 though - it's too long. By the end of it I was skipping some scenes to be honest, but nonetheless the core of the story was very charming. What needs to be said:
1. Until the very end I had no clue who will be the actual love interest, which never happened to me with a drama, confusing in a very enjoyable way! (edit: Actually, scratch that, I got much more emotionally invested into the 'wrong' guy than I thought an hour ago and someone needs to take responsibility!)
2. Was I sad about the chosen love interest? Yes. Would I be sad if the other guy was chosen? Also yes. Do you see my problem?
3. The confession scene at the restaurant? Loved it! Had the biggest impact on me, cannot recover.
Overall, great piece of work!
