That's an interesting take LOL The comment section does add to the enjoyment but I loved the hell out of Golden Blood and that comment section was a nightmare for the first 6 episodes LOL
I've always known that I'm very character driven but this show has really shone a bright white light into my eyes for me to realise just how much of an impact my interest in characters are.
My Friday show is fine, plot wise, and yet, I've had to issue myself an ultimatum for next week that if I still feel like abusing myself I need to drop, because I don't like the characters. I can't invest in them, despite the actual plot being perfectly interesting.
In comparison to this show, I can have fun with ridiculous plots and wild antics, if I love the characters. Which is honestly, really bizarre. I love Jun and Sorn. I'm invested in seeing Jun grow in confidence and unravelling Sorn's chaos. I'm interested. I want to peel back all the layers and see how they fix it.
The characters are more important than the plot to me 😂
I need to rethink the value % in my rating system. You see? It's not just soft porn. I'm learning so much about myself 😂😂😂
I'm really glad i waited to watch this in my own time. It gives me a sense of control that way. After ep. 6, I would have rage quit right there, if I was watching this whilst it was airing. That's the kind of melodrama I find really triggering. I wouldn't be able to carry that kind of anxiety for a week at a time.
I was terrified to watch this when it was airing, so now that it's finished, i put my brave cap on and gave it a chance. I thought the honey scene would be a terrible sensory overload for me but, it wasnt that bad. It was quite artfully done. The cinematography in general is very sensual and arty and I appreciate that. Rip to the carpet though lol

Soo, ok......this isn't going well for me. I'm swinging between boredom and annoyance. And now, we've introduced an enemy for Jom, and they're going the village idiot route to threaten him with, which is something that genuinely irks me and I can't help but find that insulting.
The moment I read the word 'costume' I really gasped 'they're about to pull a Carrie' ...and yep because of course that's what was going to happen.
But the scene afterwards, it pulled my heart strings, not because of what happened. It hurt because the bubble has finally burst, and Phi addressed his pain, to the person that caused his pain. Tae is challenging him and he rose to meet him like a badass, beating him, even if he's being publically humiliated. He still won in my eyes. He wasn't crying because of Tae, he was crying because the only treatment that mattered was from Tam.
And I feel that, really deeply.
That one scene was beautifully done and has just made My Ex Morning my new No. 1 weekly show. That's a major step forward, even if it takes a few more incidents for him to work through it, it's still the real beginning to now, to getting these two to the top, together.
Because HELL YES! That's exactly the direction I wanted them to go. Tae's pettiness is going to be his down fall later because that act convinced Ge that she wants to help and exactly what I was hoping for, Build your own damn team again. Completely new people, unattached, cant be influenced by loyalty or clout, and that's going to make this journey so much more wholesome and I can almost taste the satisfaction because if I keep reading the screenwriters minds, karma is coming for Tae, hard and fast.
I kind of want his whole team to sink but they're probably going to get a pass and the camera crew. How about they all just suck with Tae together.

ahhhh, I had to stop after part 1 to come here and comment this - that opening scene, another layer to Phi's character and why he is the way he is. It's pack mentality, it goes right back into school. Nice bosses, teachers, anyone authority, if you are too nice, people walk over you. So you need to demand respect when you are in a position of authority. Compare that with Tae being an asshole to Phi, because we all knew he would, that was the point of that deal, the difference between someone who has worked their way to the top vs someone who has manipulated their way. He thinks Phi wouldn't do the little jobs because HE won't do them. It's easier to just steal someone's shine than to create your own. And I said last week, I hope he didn't take this offer, because we all know Tae is just going to humiliate him, so I fully expect him to be an asshole, but it'll just make it so much sweeter when Phi WITH his cherub faced honey boo get their billboard back <3
