Here is my personal list of actors who could have possibly saved NDS character.1. Kim soo hyun2. Kang ha neul3.…
I would like to add :
• Park Seo Joon • Jung Hae In
》PSJ was really good in 'Itaewon class' & 'Witch's Romance'. So he could pull off both the anxious Start Up guy role and the romantic boyfriend role well.
》JHI had good chemistry with Suzy in WYWS. He was really good as an innovative AI programmer in 'A Piece of your Mind'. So it would have been interesting to see him play DS.
True. He could try listening to this song 'Epiphany by BTS'. Beautiful lyrics :" So weird, I for sure loved you…
Same here. Not a crazy fan (I stan EXO) but I really appreciate their lyrics. Their songs have depth & are quite relatable and relevant which reflects their mature mindset.
I respect such artists who inspire people to be better versions of themselves.
(I can tolerate immature characters in dramas but I have the least tolerate for characters who act mature inspite of being immature. Living Buddha is not a title which can be carelessly given)
Ye Ji Hoon : I always think of you when I'm struggling & I want to be the 1st person you think of when you in trouble. I like you.
Jung Da Jung : I'm sorry. You are a really nice person Mr Ji Hoon & it's not because of you...
Ye Ji Hoon : Is it because of that person ?
Jung Da Jung : I'm really sorry
JP-DM might have a similar ending. It was quite easy to accept the scene in 18 Again as we know that the lead couple always loved each other. From the moment they started dating, they always placed each other's happiness as their priority in life.
One of the most beautifully portrayed relationships in drama-land.
But in case of JP-DM's relationship, it is only JP who stives for DM's happiness & sees her as a priority. Yes, DM always placed the DS in the letters first & rejected the others for 15 yrs but after she met the real DS, her priority changed.
Even after knowing that JP was her 1st love, she was only concerned about DS.
For girls, the first person they think of when they are in trouble will mostly be their dad in their childhood.
When they become adults, it depends but mostly it will be a person who is similar to their dad - who makes them feel protected. It may be a friend, lover, etc. (As shown in 18 again)
If DM feels so about DS & instinctively thinks about him, there is no way she can change it. JP should accept this too.
If I was in DM's place, I would think of JP instinctively as he was always there for her when she was in trouble. He always protects her and makes her comfortable as she is never conscious of her image when she is around him.
But everyone has different reasons & perspectives. We all try our best to make a choice that we don't regret.
DM has to make a really hard decision. If she wants JP to be there for her, she has to reject DS as she knows that JP likes her. But she likes DS & to be with him she has to let go of a close confidant & a rare friend who she can't afford to lose.
Asking JP to just be a family friend would be selfish on her part, unless JP chooses to let go of his feelings voluntarily. So I think she is just waiting for JP to sort out his feelings.
I hope that DM doesn't regret her choice this time either. As much as I suffered from the SLS, I desperately want a happy ending for all the characters. I want this drama to remain as a bittersweet memory in my heart.
"I just want to state some facts here. JP really wanted to help SST. The reason why he became a mentor on Hackathon wasn't Dalmi, but Samsan Tech itself. In this scene, he was not aware about DM joining the Hackathon. (He was surprised to see her during the live broadcast)"
NDS should start with self love first. Many times he has underestimated himself more than others.
True. He could try listening to this song
'Epiphany by BTS'. Beautiful lyrics :
" So weird, I for sure loved you so much Adapted to you with everything, I wanted to live my life for you But as I keep doing that I just can't bear the storm inside my heart The real myself inside the smiling mask, I reveal it entirely
I'm the one I should love in this world Shining me, precious soul of mine I finally realized so I love me Not so perfect but so beautiful I'm the one I should love
I'm shaking and afraid but I keep going forward I'm meeting the real you, hidden in the storm Why did I want to hide my precious self like this? What was I so afraid of? Why did I hide my true self? "
I liked the idea by @Daydreamologist. Lets talk about our favorite moments in this drama. • Which scenes/ dialogues…
• Also the scene in Ep 1 where Grandma tells him to come back & lean on her if he’s having a rough time but makes him promise not to call or find her if he’s successful.
It was such a tear jerker. I don't remember the last time I felt so moved by a drama in Ep 1 itself. Her kindness really moved my heart. No wonder JP feels forever indebted to her.

• Which scenes/ dialogues made you cry ?
For me it was when Grandma told HJP than she regrets not meeting him sooner. I couldn't control my tears. T_T T__T T___T (We too regret not meeting KSH sooner)
"I always wished I had met you sooner. Then, we could've played cards on the holidays, and I could've made gimbap for your school trips. If anyone had bullied you, I would've met their parents, yelled at them to teach their kids better, and fought for you. I know I can't replace your parents, but I could've at least been a nosy old lady who lives next door. That makes me a bit sad."
Dodal fans whining about low ratings by JiDal shippers but what about them giving higher rating because of the…
Exactly. If someone rates the drama 10/10 it shows that they think the drama is perfect. So why would you complain about HJP or anything else ?
If you think that his character was annoying or could have been better, why didn't you give a 9/9.5 instead ?
If you don't want people to question your ratings then please do the same. Respect the opinions of others. This is a subjective matter, so there is no black & white here.
Raise your (virtual) hand if you're still enjoying this drama, and think it has a lot of things that are worth…
I loved many things about this drama & some dialogues really hit home for me :
• I loved the line by Grandma where she says that there is no such thing as a white lie & that every lie is bound to hurt people sooner or later. She realizes that the entire 'letters & lies plot' was a selfish move on her part.
• I loved JP's answer to DM's query :
"What makes a great CEO?' There's no such thing. That's as absurd as asking what makes a great politician. There are no right answers to politics or management. Why look for answers that don't exist? So, instead of looking for answers, make choices. Whatever you choose, you'll be criticized. You can't make any decisions if you're afraid of criticism. And if you can't make decisions, you can't be a CEO. What do you want to be? A good person or a CEO? Don't be greedy. You can't be both. Choose one. Just one."
That's a really great answer. He simply says that "THOSE WHO WEAR THE CROWN NEED TO BEAR ITS WEIGHT". There is no other way round.
• WIJ's powerful dialogues:
》"Dad, I learned an expensive lesson thanks to you. If the start is easy then it'll be taken away easily as well, and a CEO without shares is no better than a chewed-up gum. Thank you for the invaluable lesson."
》"I met someone from the company that day. You took a nap after the Hackathon, but I met the man who was there as a judge. Then I contacted him and submitted a proposal. And my father was not involved at all. You had your chance, too. You're too incompetent for not seizing it. Try to learn from my accomplishments. Luck? Connections? Stop listing excuses already. I'm tired of it."
• DM's dad's optimistic message :
"Grandma, dad told me that deserts would cover the entire world if it was sunny every day. We need rain and snow for plants and delicious fruits—like this tangerine—to grow!" - DM
He's so hot and cute at the same timehttps://www.phototcards.co/2020/11/actor-kim-seon-hos-past-2-days-1-night.html?m=1https://twitter.com/seonho_daily/status/1333228594131214336?s=20
"Absolutely slaying this diver look, even with that silly tiger swim-cap"
Lol >.< KSH can pull off most of the outfits with ease.
I wrote earlier today about ep 13 and some of the lazy writing in it, and I still can't drop how ridiculous for…
I agree. People may find somethings shown in this drama as unacceptable but honestly speaking, this drama doesn't deserve 1/10.
For me it is 5/10 right now. It may or may not change after the final ep depending on how the writer ties all the loose ends together.
A few reasons it is 5/10 for me :
• The business theme was heavily overshadowed by the love triangle • Too many clichés & coincidences • The main leads & the second pair have a lacklustre romance which seems forced & rushed • IJ's character was reduced to a cameo in most of the eps & her POV is never explained • I don't find the SST trio's character development to be inspiring as it happened behind the scenes • I am waiting for the writer to explain DS's actions. What was the intention behind showing us the violent outbreaks of the 'Living Buddha' ? • The revenge plot was not well executed. It was not worth the hype.
"It is very tiring to live as someone's pride and joy. You are afraid of disappointing that person so you pretend you are strong and competent." Dosan says this to his dad in ep 10, and now I think he will say it to DM.
It is indeed tiring to live a life trapped by dogma. This drama mentions Steve Jobs many times so I think it is not surprising if they include his philosophy too :
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
– Steve Jobs
DS is always trying to live as someone's pride & joy. But now he may finally realize his true dream ("Follow your dream" on the ball can be a hint). He finally learns to place himself first & after finding his true self, he feels liberated, confident & satisfied. (His happy ending)
This character development of DS would be amazing & can be a great message to the youth who often find themselves living the dreams of others (their parents/teachers/lovers/ spouses). Like the ending of 'Sky Castle', where the kids, who were finally free from their parents ambitions had the freedom to choose their path, we can expect DS to reach a similar conclusion.
few days earlier i saw somebody made a list about negative things done by DS and JP. She/he should make a list…

It breaks him to see her pine for the man who loves sewing."
This line is poignant but humorous.
I love the the subtle balance of emotions in this poem. You're really talented ^^

He deserves to meet someone who sees him as an 'irreplaceable' existence in her life.
'Epiphany by BTS'. Beautiful lyrics :

Adapted to you with everything, I wanted to live my life for you
But as I keep doing that I just can't bear the storm inside my heart
The real myself inside the smiling mask, I reveal it entirely
I'm the one I should love in this world
Shining me, precious soul of mine
I finally realized so I love me
Not so perfect but so beautiful
I'm the one I should love
I'm shaking and afraid but I keep going forward
I'm meeting the real you, hidden in the storm
Why did I want to hide my precious self like this?
What was I so afraid of?
Why did I hide my true self? "
I just cry my heart out whenever Grandma & JP have an emotional talk. They never fail to hit my soft spot.
Amazing acting. They deserve a standing ovation. Evoking emotions through acting is a great talent & a blessing.
I just want to thank them for making me go through the characters emotions.
It was such a tear jerker. I don't remember the last time I felt so moved by a drama in Ep 1 itself. Her kindness really moved my heart. No wonder JP feels forever indebted to her.
An act of selfless love is priceless ♡♡♡

IJ : I do. "Go to 2STO", "No, I wanna stay with you" - What a tear jerking story !
No wonder that I stan IJ. She is the most practical & pragmatic character in the drama.
