Ep 7-8: I feel like these flowed much better minus a cut here and there. It's a better balance and use of the comedy as well. There's not much plot yet plotifying but at least we are getting to know all the characters more, including antagonists.

I would just be trying to marry into the Wei family in this one. Look at them! All beautiful, interesting, and…
They are so chaotic, love them lol

Thankfully, there's not too much of what you mentioned so far. I think there will be some jealousy, but we'll have to see. So far the main couple are kind of sweet. SML syndrome might hit pretty hard for some people I think

In this romance is it come from jealousy or is the ML a lovesick fool, or FL is damsel, weak or manipulative?
I’d say none of the above. Both have clear goals in their minds and are at their core good people and want common people to live well. The romance in my opinion from what I’ve seen in the first 6 eps has not yet really started. There may be some feelings, but it’s only the beginning.

Yeah, I'm just having fun with this. I don't have any high expectations, and I'm already enjoying it.

I’m sure it will get more serious as it goes. Ep 6 got into some darker areas already.

Yes, it’s shown later. Basically Qi Zheng knows someone is after Fan Yun.
Yes it probably was cut the actual scene, but can deduce enough

Did they cut the wine-poisoning scene or what? I'm at the start of Episode 4, and they never showed what happened…
Yes, it’s shown later. Basically Qi Zheng knows someone is after Fan Yun.

DW’s character is so interesting. I hope as the episodes goes on he’ll have more screen time 😍Riley and…
Love Wei Shi San as well. And agree, would love to see more of the mysterious and slightly unhinged (maybe more than slightly) Zheng Shi/Lou Qiyan

I really like the Anime Saiunkoku Monogatari!!!! I was shock when I watch it and find the story is familiar!!I…
It's mostly lighthearted so far, but there are some seeds for some potential drama/angst down the road. I'm not familiar with the original anime, so I'm not sure how much was changed for the drama. It's a watchable, light entertainment drama for relaxing for me so far.

I don't get the harsh criticisms this drama get. It's a romance comedy. The characters, scenes, story, plots and…
I agree. I've only seen 1 episode, but they definitely are not dumb. It's pretty obvious that Qi Zheng is purposefully behaving one way but has plans. Fan Yun equally has her own plans and is using him - not maliciously but she has her own agenda at this point. She also genuinely cares about people and wants to do something for them. They don't trust each other at this points, which is a great starting point to develop their relationship. And I agree with you, I want to see where it goes.

And yes, there is comedy. It's not overbearing at all to me - sometimes it's too much in dramas, but I think here it's been fine. It's not as biting or clearly satirical as in A Dream Within A Dream (a drama I really loved especially for its use of comedy), but I think the comedy in this drama works ok. My favorite bit so far in ep 1 is when her Dad served that "tea" (basically a bunch of tea leaves soaking in cold well water).

She sure does not look like a mental patient at all.
She seems pretty normal to me, but I've only watched the first episode.
