Ok, I did it. I watched ep 12 (well almost, I couldn't watch after JCY got stabbed in probably the lungs and still kept talking) and burst out laughing. As a physician, I just couldn't torture myself to accept that it was physically possible. And I continued laughing - not because there's any comedy intended in the episode but because of how ridiculous the past 10-15 minutes are in this episode. The absolute lack of logic and set up in the writing and the absolute unnecessary "drama" needed in a story already packed with dramatic people (Liu Chang and the princess seem actually more reasonable after the weirdness of today's episode) are astounding. I am amazed that the actors could even still emote given the ridiculous lines given to them.
If that is really all there is to this episode, I cannot believe how crazy this show has turned out to be. I hope I will be proved wrong, but nothing in JCY's expression or performance of the scenes at the end indicate to me there's anything else behind it all.
I just want to say that the Chinese drama industry will likely fade if they continue to prioritise looks over…
I first saw Liu Lingzi in A New Life begins and really liked her there. I agree she's been great here - she has that classic Chinese period drama female lead energy.
Deng Wei will be attending the iqiyi membership festival on July 17 per his fan club. Maybe we’ll get some more news/info about the new drama? https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5184786838847757
Take things on weibo with a HUGE grain of salt. Having said that, I think most of Deng Wei's fans just want to…
Yeah there's all kinds of wild stuff, and who knows, maybe half of it is true. To me, because there's been no official response or statement, all of this poop gets flown around. We'll see.
As far as the funding, a lot of money went into making the sets and costumes, so I'm not so convinced about that. For what it's worth, filming is going on as I type this, so we'll see how the finished product looks.
there's a lot of on going issue about this drama i saw on weibo. the production crew, casts, roles, plot, like…
Take things on weibo with a HUGE grain of salt. Having said that, I think most of Deng Wei's fans just want to make sure he isn't bullied. The production team's strategy seems to be one of silence lol since the beginning, so who knows for sure.
But that nonsense about filming being stopped is not real. I suspect there are some malicious people out there too trying to throw shade at this drama, at Deng Wei, etc. I generally try not to waste too much time on it, but it is a shame that so much crap is out there on weibo, etc.
