My thoughts about eps 19 & 20 :I feel like the writers should have introduced the Ying and Yang theory to the…
Yes, the drama requires a level of understanding of yin/yang and other known Chinese philosophies/mythologies - although these are typically found in xianxia. But I agree, the writer tends to probe these philosophical themes more than others.
While I havenāt exactly loved the execution of this story, I see it as a story of a coupleās broken marriage/relationship. They are having a very intense couplesā therapy session in the mortal realm lol, getting to the root of their problems. Iām going to see how it pans out before passing final judgment. I get the feeling FL will have to see MLās side of things at some point.
Catching up on this: ep 11 - yep, glad my hunch was right! If one watches carefully, you can tell the subtle inconsistencies in FL's behavior leading up to it.
Was waiting for it...by ep 10, you can start to see where the script is going - it seems like it's going to be one thing in the beginning, but it's not. At least, I hope it's not. The scriptwriter certainly has the ability judging by past works to take things in a different way, so I'm hoping to be surprised as the show progresses.
I think my problem with the show so far is how the script/story is executed. A little too over-the-top in places and lacking nuance in others (the direction of certain actors' performances, use of sound effects to force a comedic response for example). Music can be jarring, and something about the editing is weird to me. Maybe it'll be more clear later, preview for ep 11 .
