He read them but did not understand them I think. Or at least he did not read the classic ones well (he can’t remember the details). He’s into these “new age” wuxia stories or rather, he is eager to write the type of story we saw in the beginning with the overpowered male lead lol. I think he will learn as he goes on. I hope. Or else we have all wasted our time 😂
The competition kinda stopped the development of the drama, both the politics and romance, in exchange for a predictable…
Yes, the politics and palace stuff are very underdeveloped, but I think the highlight of this show (for me anyway) is the food - the history behind dishes both cultural and personal.
Not sure yet. After ep 4, we are to suspect ML's old neighbor (the son Park Min Jae), but I'm not sure if it's him. I never watched the original French show, so don't know who it is.
There’s not a great amount of logic in the way this police team is operating, but I’m still interested enough in this story to find out who is the copycat and so forth.
This may not be the most sophisticated production or the most ingenious script, but it's been a fun show so far. Cheng Yi has always been a great performer to me - no matter what the story is, he has good screen presence and brings you into his character easily.
I'm pleasantly surprised by Eleanor Lee. I've only ever seen her in Fake Princess before (which is a totally different character lol), but I like how her character here is stoic, direct and courageous.
Great start to this wuxia drama - seems to be a classic coming of age and adventure story, which I'm enjoying so far. To me, this kind of story doesn't need romance to thrive - there's plenty of other types of chemistry that is really nice to see (love the family dynamics and the 2 pairs of brother-sister relationships depicted so far, and Liu Suifeng is an intriguing antagonist). Hope the energy can keep up the whole 40 episodes.
Lots to look forward to in Sept/Oct: 1. New Pantene endorsement 9/8 2. Activity in Chengdu 9/14 3. Paris 4. I think another mystery endorsement is coming too 5. Hopefully more news on the Rosy Clouds drama
Finally all caught up. Really liked ep 10 - a great example of when the case is interwoven well with the character storyline (in this episode, some mother-daughter reconciliation).
