Someone wrote that this might happen ; Jang Hyun will be gone for many years until he meets Gil Chae again - who has 2 failed marriages behind her. I find it hard to believe , because as far as I know women during Joseon era were only allowed to be married once in their lifetime, so even if husbands died they were never allowed to remarry

Really!? How weird, her hair is even tied into a braid which means she is not married / has never been married. Married women / widows has their hair tied up.

She hasn’t been married, if she was a widow she would never be able to remarry, it was not allowed for women to do that during Joseon dynasty . She is even called Maiden.

Yeah i would hate that so Much if it happened. Since its Joseon era, she wouldnt be able to divorce her husband ever , and even if he died she could never still marry Jang Hyun , because women during Joseon were never allowed to remarry. ..
