Story actually sounds interesting. I saw leaked still pictures of Yang Mi for this drama and I'm glad to see she isn't going to be made up in fancy makeup and pretty clothes. Curious to see her acting range outside of idol dramas.

I'm watching it on IQiyi and they originally listed it with 38 episodes. Perhaps it was cut to 36 but IQiyi is just now updating/correcting it. I thought it was weird.

Just noticed today the episodes dropped from 38 to 36. Wonder why the extra cut while drama is still airing?

I didn't read the synopsis but did watch the trailer. I assumed ML & FL met when ML is an adult. Didn't know she raised him from prepubescent years. Ngl, it is giving me weird vibes but I'll try to keep an open mind 😬

Just watched the trailer. Looks interesting. I'm loving that it's 20 episodes. I hope to see more quality shorter dramas from the Chinese entertainment industry. Anything above 30 episodes is just too long (for me).

I don't like big age gap as well, but the story is about a much older, experienced General/Prince who's never been married and because he "died" in the line of duty, they married off a young girl (ghost bride) to accompany him in his next life. In ancient times, girls married as young as 14/15.

Agreed. I had to use the fast forward button on the last 3 episodes because it was centered around the mom. She was more annoying being "sick" than when she was being a toxic mom. Overall, I enjoyed it but seems like mom got more screen time than FL/ML.

I've just made it to ep 12 as well and the FL's mother is exhausting to watch. Jialing's family humiliated them so many times and she STILL wants her daughter to marry into that awful family 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes!!! I was just coming here to say the same thing. My heart broke for them.

So excited for this drama. Dou Xiao (Shawn Dou) hasn't been in anything good the last couple of years. Hopefully this drama will thrust him into the limelight again. For me, his best role is Yan Xun from Princess Agents.

This was filmed back in 2021 and is now just released. Drama has 48 episodes but with the new rules of shows being capped at 40, I believe they decided to break it up into season 1 & 2 instead of cutting out more scenes.
