I'm still stuck on ep 4. Put it on hold to rewatch Joy of Life. I feel like 2023 is a flat year for Xu Kai, whom I love as an actor. His dramas this year are all "meh". I'm also not too fond of Jing Tian. Nothing bad about her but I can't see her as a female lead. I can't get into their love story and plot seems boring. Is it worth continuing?

There's no official announcement of release date because they've just finished filming mid October. With post production and approval process, I'm guessing the earliest would be Summer 2024 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm currently rewatching this and it still makes me laugh and love Fan Xian as much as the first time I watched it.

Looks like a lot of good supporting cast members. It's a shame we might not get to watch it.

I'm a fan of the director's filming style. He always brings quality work. I also see a few actors from MJTY. Should be a good one!

Hope chemistry between Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei will be good. Based on the released still pictures of them as well as some BTS they don't seem to be "close"...not even as friends.

For me, I wasn't able to fully engage in the story until after episode 6. Agree that the first few episodes weren't very engaging.

The extra "special episode" after the ending was EVERYTHING!! SOKP 💯 wrapped up the story beautifully. This drama is one of the very few in 2023 where I didn't use the skip button. Enjoyed every minute of it and highly recommend it 👍👍 The chemistry between main leads is 🔥🔥🔥

Yes, she did. lol. I thought it was such a poor excuse from the Emperor that he did it so he doesn't provoke the Xue patriarch and also the younger brother doesn't have to marry her. She had already fallen out in everyone's eyes and ruined her shot as the main consort. It was kind of funny that EVERYONE gasped at her shameless act.

Ep 28, Xue Shu and the Emperor 😳 Grosses me out. They are first cousins. I know it was common for royal families to marry their cousins but first cousins are way too close in bloodlines. Lol.

The Story of Yanxi Palace. Although it's a harem story, the FL is strong and brilliant. Long episodes but the plot moves quickly.

It was confusing at first and I had so many questions, especially on Xie Wei's character but your review seems to have answered it for me on how his character will develop down the road. I watched Lost Track of Time and hated it. KP has some similarities so I was worried.

I believe Chang Dong and Ye Liuxi live outside of the Pass because she brought a ton of gold for her and Chang Dong when she left the Pass. FEI Tang and He live inside the Pass because she can't go outside otherwise she would die. So Tang settled inside the Pass with her.

This looks like a good one. Happy to see Cheng Lei here. Been a fan of his since A Familiar Stranger. Loved him in MJTY.

I love Ju Jingyi but man, I hope her make up and wardrobe won't be so ridiculously over the top as in all her dramas the last 2-3 years. I thought she and Song Weilong were cute together in A Class of Her Own. Looking forward to this one.

This one is on my list but I haven't started it yet because I'm not a fan of FL. I totally agree they had no chemistry whatsoever in Stand By Me. I also dropped it.

I haven't her in such a long time I didn't recognize her in The Furthest Distance.

I will watch anything with Ci Sha. So handsome 😍
