If you don't. one would never know it from your post. He's always been a very skilled actor, and delivered his usual polished performance in this drama.
You also obviously cannot differentiate between a badly written character with poor dialogue and a poor acting job. I've seen people mangle Shakespeare, and I've seen actors take pure shiite and by their mere presence transform that into a moving performance. In this, I'm not going to say PSH managed to do more than make his character likeable and sympathetic - but he certainly gave a good performance. I see no evidence of this 'lack' of chemistry at all. I've seen everything Park Shi Hoo has done (drama wise at least) and he's always done a great job. He's professional, skilled, and polished - not the most amazing actor but one of the most reliable ones.
Film/TV/theater critics DO follow criteria, you know. There's such a thing as informed criticism. I've been a theater & film critic, plus am a writer. I may not be famous nor made lots of money at these things but I've experience with it. I certainly can tell that in this case these actors were NOT given decent material to work with, and that it got worse as the drama progressed. I also saw the leading lady manage as best she could while our lead guy overcame it. I too was impressed with the 2nd lead actor who did a superb job with little to work with.

Why, I call nonsense right here. YOU may hate him, dear, but lots of us do not. He's a very good actor and managed to turn a whiny, self-centered character (as written) into more than that - because he IS an accomplished actor. Better one than Ji Hyo (who does a competent job but still couldn't rise above her character).
I find this a very poorly disguised dislike for Park Shi Hoo.

Ji Hyo did as well as she could given the seesaw annoying character the writer created for her. I mean, good GRIEF!

I love how people, faced with a drama where the script is going off course and some of the dialogue (especially towards the end) gets cliche & wooden, proceed to blame the ACTORS LOL Nope, wrong, the acting in this was quite good. What do you expect them to do, rewrite the script, people?

The main female lead CHARACTER made me want to slap her a lot. How many times does she just walk away for NO damn good reason?
But Park Shi Hoo was fine, and overall it was interesting. The last two episodes (or 4 if you count each half hour one) could have easily been made into one. Just filler plus filler, with maybe 15 minutes tying up loose ends, and a whole lot of WTF girl.
Another KDrama writer who doesn't know how to properly end a drama, or who is not ALLOWED to end it the way she wanted....
But there are SO many worse endings out there!!!

When she's on the bed, AFTER he made it clear she'd get beat up as his wife, she's gloating about all the things she'll get, with that gleam. THEN she goes after the grandmother. Yeah, murderous viper.

I really thought they'd do that, and have our journalist survive to document the whole thing :(

Hardly. This kind of thing still goes on, right along with teasing your sibling about how they wear their hair, what girls/boys they like, what clothes they wear. A sibling will tease one about whatever gets a rise out of the other, that simple. Get a grip on reality. People like you want to censor stuff to the point that it's not recognizable as a real-life conversation.
