I never took Kim Hyun Joong for a method actor, but he obviously completely immersed himself in this role, his…
You just might go read about his vindication, my dear. That female is going to be convicted, looks like, in criminal court. She's already lost all her civil cases & has been proven a liar. Of course you had no way of knowing that 3 years ago...
Screw you if it's about that scandal. KHJ actually did marvelous in this drama. He's got a real future in action film/TV. The problem w/ IG was the change of direction half-way thru which messed up the momentum and caused Yoo Hyun Min to drop out. I really wished this could have been the 50 episode epic the writer originally wanted - I think it would have been marvelous. As for the scandal, go read up on the latest. Really. Vindication for him.
I really hate all these fantasy trash shows. I miss the kdramas from 10 years ago where there were no idols and…
Ah - 10 years ago - Full House. w/Rain, My Girl. w/Lee Jun Ki (1st Flower Boy). Super Rookie, w/Eric Mun. It's true that weepy makjang romances were much more the thing in the early/mid 2000s, but the idols were there! Yeah, no idols back in the day LOL As for 'fantasy fake' stuff - I've been watching Asian dramas for decades - that was the bread & butter of the Hong Kong films. In Korea, My GF is a Gumiho was almost 10 years ago, Goong & GoonS were definitely that old. That's fantasy of a sort. And as for FAKE, well, I guess in your world chaebols fall from the trees, amnesia and switched at birth scenarios happen all the time, etc. All those over the top trops come from those early 2000 dramas LOL
You can't talk about morality of having more than one woman WITHOUT taking into consideration historical context.…
Jinee - You are being completely illogical here - and are guilty of anachronistic thinking. Soo Ho in fact did NOT do anything wrong. Sharon in that time period was a HORRIBLE person. He was an admirable one. PERIOD. The fact that you can spend so much time defending this creature, and trying to demonize her admirable husband, is rather deplorable. To think that it's ok to burn two people alive because you forced your husband into a slave girl's arms, literally - wow. I want no part of THAT 'morality'.
You know, I think they had a guy at first - I noticed that it looked like a woman only after episode 20 or so. But the last few appearances, it was obvious the motocycle attacker was way too short to be the prosecutor & there was definitely the possibility of it being a woman. Plus, that girl's constant presence meant something - I kept waiting for her significance to emerge :D
I am only continuing to watch this drama due to the strong male lead performances. Their performances are incredible…
Ok. This character is actually not badly written - her actions/reactions are quite logical. She's an independent woman, that's made very clear, but she's NOT a deity nor a demon despite having this ability to see spirits & having that blood & the mission the Jade Emperor there has given her. She's HUMAN. So yeah, needs protection - ergo our Monkey King. But she's fighting it. I really laugh at those comments about her being a weak character cause really? The woman who's the limpet is that dog demon :d This is fantasy based on Chinese mythology - and so far done quite cleverly :D The Jade Emperor (that so-called envoy from the heavens - yeah) most certainly IS using her - and everybody else. Oh, & our heroine knows very well that Oh Gong is being manipulated by that bracelet. She is of course tempted - I mean good GRIEF we ALL would be - but she knows. I love well done mythological adaptions, modernized ones or just retellings.
I wasnt happy to see a zombie introduced, but they did a really good job with her movements. It was impressive.…
This is not about zombies LOL It is a retelling of stories from Journey to the West - it is the Eastern/ie Chinese equivalent of Homer. This modern version has all the main mythological characters :D I'm just so loving it :D
Damn right you did. Dropped this after episode 4. I love crime dramas but this is just a mess.
Why? I certainly don't find it a 'mess'. I find it intriguing. If it's not to your taste, fine - but don't try to justify it by pretending it's written badly. So many people do that and it's just so annoying.
the amazing support cast can't help this drama from becoming a mess because the leads are fresh faces! Also the…
The leads are not newbies, dear. Not at all. She's been in FOURTEEN dramas so far, while Yoon Gyung Sang more than proved his worth as an actor in TWO tour de force sageuks recently (6 Flying Dragons & Rebel Hong Gil Dong). Given the total fail of that criticism, your take on the screenplay becomes suspect immediately. Why do you think it's a mess? It hangs together fairly logically, with some twists & lots of suspense. May not be to your taste, but that's quite different.
As for the scandal, go read up on the latest. Really. Vindication for him.
