Nothing wrong with the performances. Just not that interesting of a plot and the conman personality is really…
Maybe it's not interesting to you - I'm fascinated. I don't find the conman bad, grating, irritating - none of that. But whatever - if you aren't into this don't waste your time - totally agree on that point.
You take the words right out of my mouth. I don't want to miss out on Jo Jeongseok but the story in ep. 9-10 is…
Hyeri is doing fine, the story is interesting, the acting by our 2 maie leads is amazing. I'm getting annoyed by all the negative comments, myself, since they make little sense. If you don't like it, go away.
I'm honestly glad the show's rating is dropping! now I can trust MDL's ratings again! this travesty should not…
This is an adorable show! Whatever is wrong with the commenters here? I love it, the acting is superb, and I'm really invested in figuring out the mystery. I cannot fathom this comment. Makes NO logical sense at all.
Wow. Never finished a Ji Chang Wook drama??? LOL Yeah. You know he does all sorts of different parts, is an extremely…
Oh, you should watch Healer. It's drama crack. There are better dramas (talking from a critical point of view) but OMG Now, 6 Flying Dragons - just wow! Amazing character study of that prince/king. It's one of the best historicals from ANY country I've ever watched.
Its a plot device to have 2 people closer and in similar circumstancesEven if they dont take base salary(1$ token)…
Not defending the behavior - trying to defend the bad writing is what I meant. There's really no excuse for the way the writers have done this. There were better options. As you point out, he certainly would have his own money! Grandpa could have made some bet with him to live w/o any money for x period of time to 'earn' the right to break away - that would have been a viable option.

It is very bad writing. I of course know WHY the writers did it - they simply did it very very awkwardly, badly enough to momentarily break that suspension of disbelief so necessary in fiction. It would garner a big red X in any writing class. There are numerous more logical ways this could have been done with the same result. Don't try to defend the indefensible here LOL
Yeah at least he's supposed to have his salary or savings but apparently even that's not technically his.. pretty…
No, of COURSE he'd have money - this is some stupid makjang fantasy that simply makes this whole section of the drama stupid, maddening & unrealistic. In fact if Gramps there signed over said land & house, too late to take it back! Same with the shares! Oh, my gawd I really really really hate this meme. It works when the person has been a leech & really doesn't have anything of his own (like a JOB) or when they are young (still in college, say) but no way here. This would have been better if they showed Gramps outright STEALING from him. I'm screaming here. Best and most realistic treatment of this (walking away from family money & position) is in Secret Garden. THAT's real. Guy doesn't lose his own money, business (he has his own & mom can't do a thing), car, possessions - he just gives up the HOUSE that mommie dearest bought him. HERE????? I'd tell that old man to suck eggs. Really!
They need to get over this REAL quick! He's a GROWN-ASS MAN who's been working at that company as an EXECUTIVE OFFICER for what has to be at least 8 years - that's HIS car, he has to have his own BANK account, his own CREDIT cards - those are HIS clothing & HIS belongings - what in the WORLD do these IDIOTS take us for to make like some old fart however rich he is can STEAL from an adult who's been working and earning his own money????? That is just beyond ridiculous and I'm truly skipping thru until they are done with this nonsense. GIVE that old fart his CAR KEYS???? WHY???????
This site is rather useless for persons wanting to figure out whether a drama is worth watching. So many people who haven't a clue about how to critique anything sound off, getting upset about minutiae or else hating on shows simply because they don't like the actor/actress (not the ACTING ability, mind) while denying that's what they are doing - and of course the reverse (not admitting they only like a show cause of who is in it)... There are excellent critiques to be found here, but they are only evident to those who have already SEEN the show, unfortunately. This comment section showcases most of what I'm ranting about right now. Just useless :( I'll say this - anyone who is foolish enough to not recognize the deliberate attempt to repeat the success of Goblin here does not understand anything about dramas, writing, or entertainment companies.
3 episodes in and had to drop watching this. Taemi wears a confederate flag on her jacket. I don't usually get…
That minor character wearing that jacket has NOTHING to do with this drama, with the story, nothing. Refusing to watch this for such a minor thing (minor to this drama - it's something easily edited out with absolutely no difference to the story) is wayy over the top, in my opinion. I think making a big deal to CLOTHING companies about NOT USING confederate flags, or nazi swastikas, as decorations, would be much more to the point.
I have seen over 300 KDramas - I obviously love them. THIS drama is the ONLY one I've rewatched - and I've done that 4 times so far with every intention of doing so again. Why? There are dramas that are better from a critical standpoint (Misaeng, Signal, It's Ok It's Love). Dramas that make me feel good (Shopping King Louis - which I admit I may rewatch - & Coffee Prince). Dramas that have amazing cinematography, gorgeous guys, even JCW (Warrior Baek Dong Soo, which I do love). I admit that I will watch Ji Chang Wook read the phone book , in any language he wants. I've done the equivalent (watched his V-Live right before he enlisted, in which he basically read comments posted to the show for about 1.5 hours). But this was the show that revealed his awesomness to me. I immediately watched everything he's ever done - but I've not rewatched any of those shows. I admit to rewatching some scenes from K2 LOL but not the whole drama, not even close. I also admit to loving City Hunter & watching Healer in the first place (as it aired) because it was supposed to be the same genre (it was). REALLY loved City Hunter, and Lee Min Ho. But haven't rewatched THAT one either. So why do I rewatch this one? It's drama crack, for one thing. The writers are playing us like strings on a violin, knowing exactly what note to hit for maximum effect. It's a genre that I love - that lone cool vigilante dude hiding his identity by being an awkward geek by day - Superman LOL But done really amazingly well here. The love story is pure, straight-forward, no gimmicks, no memes - the make-over was a DUET lol - but we got teased several times by the writers where we'd be all worried our girl was going to have that epic 'misunderstanding' - but DIDN'T!!! The back story was interesting & accurate about the time depicted, the story of the 2 brothers gave the villain of the piece full dimension (although the shadow organization stayed that way) and the last episode did not feature any 'going away for a year' nonsense. Maybe a couple things might have had a tad more closure, but that's a really minor problem. (As is, might I add, some secondary character wearing some annoying symbol from another country that has nothing to do with the drama at all. Maybe those offended might ask it be edited out ? That would make a lot more sense than censorship .)
Where did the haters come from???? I'm loving this - Jo Jung Suk is AMAZING in this drama! Nothing boring at all about it. This has just the right balance of serious vs humorous - I have to be in the right mood to watch Oh, The Mysterious, or Untouchable (cause they are very serious) but this one I just smile to see new episodes, & watch right away :D
If you don't like it, go away.
