This show did so well up until EP 10. Everything episode 10 and before is absolutely stunning and very well done, however, the ending was fumbled so hard. They tried to shove so much content and time passage into two episodes, when that content alone was enough to fuel an entire second season.
Now on to the whole curing Day's blindness debate. This is such a sensitive issue, and they just did it so incredibly poorly. I will start out by saying that based on the information we are given in the show, the type of blindness Day has is very treatable, with 150,000 successful surgeries performed each year around the globe, There is also no shortage of cornea donors, in fact there are more corneas donated than surgeries performed. However the show never gives us any of those statistics, and the viewers are left very much in the dark about the real medical status and diagnosis Day has. Secondly, after spending the entire show having Day learn to except his new reality as a blind person, only to cure it in the last ten minutes of the last episode feels like a slap in the face. I am not at all against Day being cured, because statistically, he would be. I am however, against how they went about it. A storyline involving Day regaining his sight should have been given at bared minimum, a full episode. Because throwing it in at the last second felt like "oh he's fixed, and only now can he experience real happiness cause he is normal again".
I haven't watched it yet but this is one of the highest rated bls I've seen, is it worth it)
It is so worth it imo! If you love a well done slow burn with all the feels and romance, plot, and many well done side characters, you will love it. If you tend to like more chaotic, dramatic shows with less plot and more instant payoff, than maybe this show isn't for you.
At this point I am almost convinced Non is dead in the present. Nothing currently is pointing at him being alive. From the information we have gained so far it looks like he was romantically involved with Phee, and that unless Jin has some ulterior motive we don't know yet to get close to Non, I think it is safe to say he had a crush on Non. I think that after Non died Phee and Jin somehow came together and started plotting to avenge Non, and they maybe trauma bonded over his death which let to them being involved with each other. I believe the teacher is involved deeply in this as well. I'm currently leaning towards thinking that whatever he does may be the nail in the coffin for Non. As for our little White, I think he is in on it with Phee and Jin. I think he was supposed to be gathering info on Tee, and maybe got in a little two deep romantically.
My only issue with this show is that these guys can't fight for shit as trained cops. It was like 3 of them against…
Well in their defence, they are still rookies, and I'm pretty sure they mentioned the guy in the bar was like an ex-soldier or something along those lines. Their real problem is the fact that they keep disregarding orders from capt. Akk, and acting on impulse with no real fully developed plans.
Judging from the comments it seems like 90% of watchers are skipping the stepbrother part and enjoying the other…
Your whole comment gave me the ick. People in an altered state of mind cannot give consent. Period. End of statement. It doesn't matter if the altered state is caused by drinking, drugs, or a mental breakdown. If someone is not 100% all there, they cannot give proper consent.
The scene in Kinnporsche episode 4 could be at best considered dub con, however due to the scenes is ep 5 were Porsche is clear he would not have let that happen if he were sober, and did not want it to happen, it becomes r*pe.
The scene in this show however, is 1000% r*pe, and there is no ifs, ands, or buts, about it. Little demon stepbrother got him drunk with the full intention of taking atvantage of him. It doesn't matter if he kinda let it happen when little demon started coming on to him. He was drunk. He couldn't consent!
Random thought:I can see people calling for Chart to return from the comment section..Uhmm, the same asshole Chart…
There is certainly a lot of internalized misogyny in the bl community, however, in this case I think the problem is, on top of being an annoying character, the actress who plays Dao just sticks out like a sore thumb because her acting skills are no were close to being on par with her peers. Even the actors who play Khem and Thongthai, who I would argue are some of the weakest actors in the show, are still displaying far better base skills than she is. As for Chart, while I don't like him as a character, the actor who plays him is very talented, and has an established fan base who will of course be excited to see more of him.
Man the acting this EP was just incredible! The scene with Yai's speech to Tharn really took the cake though. It takes a lot to get me to cry, but that scene did it. The Girl playing Dao is sadly the only exception to the great acting. To quote Hermione Granger "she has the emotional range of a teaspoon", and even a teaspoon might be being to generous.
Uhhhh, hate to break it to you but in the uncut version on iqiyi there was 3 sex scenes sooo.... Also just f off…
Haha, sadly the spicy scenes were some of the only parts that weren't totally cringe. That and Tutors characters coming out scene was also pretty well done. The spicy scenes in question are in ep 6 (maybe 7?) and 8.
I love how they DIDN'T have a sex scene in this show. So many of the BL these days are almost feeling like porn,…
Uhhhh, hate to break it to you but in the uncut version on iqiyi there was 3 sex scenes sooo.... Also just f off with the purity culture bs. Most bl are made for an adult audience, so of course they aren't going to be G rated. Not to mention so many bls these days have queer men deeply involved in the making of these shows. In fact the bl with the most smut I have ever seen (Playboyy) is made by a team of openly queer men. Do you think that they are making things for "straight women's fantasies"?
Honestly, I don't think it should be. Even from a purely objective standpoint the pacing is off, the writing is poor, and some of the acting is questionable. At this point I wouldn't give it more than a 7.5. And as a Sapphic, I kinda want to take a whole extra point off since there is not a single woman in the cast. I need the main lead to at least have a hot sister lmao.
Well, maybe if you watch ep7, you'll find it's not quite as bad as all that. Yes, if they cut out significant…
If it wasn't for the mystery I def would have dropped it. Kinda sad they caved to the purity nuts and cut the NC scenes. The logistically impossible s*x scenes were my favorite.
I haven't watched the latest EP, but from what I'm hearing, they tried to correct stuff in post, that should have been fixed in pre production, and are failing fantastically. Honestly idk why they chose to try and do that. It's to late now. No amount of editing is going to fix the terrible directing, lackluster writing, and questionable acting. This was supposed to be a "groundbreaking" show discussing taboo topics. It needed to be handled with care and caution. But unfortunately it seems like it was treated more like a kickball, and less like the fragile glass orb it should have been.
I understand why some people don’t like ep 7’s pace, but I believe it’s necessary for us to have that. The…
This! There has been actual plot holes I have found, but the people complaining about the "plot" aren't complaining about those, no, they are complaining about artistic choices and plot buildup.
