Yeah I heard that. But why would the the grandma support the concubines. I mean her character at least till today, was nice and wise. And the trap you mention- they do not clear that right? Like what exactly happened between the the parents of ML wasn't said. They also said the queen scratched the king, but no reason was given? They should shed some light on that.

Chae-Min is such a good actor. He did so well in today's scenes. He got a role to perform all the shades, and he aced it honestly. He deserves great scripts with mature roles in the future.
Yoona was good too. The way her character tried to stop the king from becoming a tyrant was so nice. I am glad she confessed her love. But this episode gave such a trauma. I mean how could they kill Song Jae, I cried literally.
At least the grandmom knows that it wasn't her grandson who killed her. I was so scared she would die thinking her grandson killed her.
I hope the ending is not a sad one. I mean we all know the king cannot have a happy ending with his royal cook, but at least make him come in the future or a reincarnation plot, anything would do, but give my babies a happy ending! They deserve that after so much trouble they are going through.

Because she loves the king. She doesn't want him to be the tyrant. She knows the history, that the king would become a tyrant, and then deposed off and exiled. She wants him to be a good king, and not take rash decisions. She feels the history can be changed.

One question- I understood what happened to the King's mother in the past. But why did that happen? I mean what did she do so wrong that all the concubines, some ministers, and even the grandmother of ML wanted her dead? I did not find any reason mentioned for that. Did I miss something? Does the novel say why that happened?

I don't think the actors are at fault though. They are saying dialogues, they might not know about these stuff, just like I didn't know. But the one who researched, came up with names, wrote the dialogues, should have done a better job. Kdramas do have an international viewership and many Muslims watch it. Its no good with offending anyone.

Yeah I get it. Not everyone is same. For me too, if I don't like someone's acting and drop the drama for it(which I rarely do), I just don't go to comment section. But yes some people want to mention it. It actually doesn't matter. The drama is well received, I loved the actors, they did well, hopefully everything will end well.
I didn't watch K2, which people have been criticizing. But I did watch King the Land, films- confidential assignment 1&2, and I really think such roles where she plays bubbly happy girl, just like in this one too, she does great. Chae-Min is too good, he did extraordinary. I did not expect so much from him. So I think some people might feel Yoona performed less in front of him. Not for me though. The cast was appropriate. Loved every bit of it.

I don't think there was a typo though. I said in NO circumstances I want the cast to changed. That meant I don't want the cast to be changed. I love them.

Firstly I love Yoona, Chae-Min and everyone. In no circumstances, I want the cast to be changed.
But I think its completely fine if people think that someone else could have done it better. I read many comments that Yoona didn't perform very well. Its their perspective. Most of the people who said it, did not mean any hate. Haters and people who do constructive criticism are different. Not all actors are liked by everyone, that's okay I believe. But yes there is always a right way to say it. So its fine by me.

I am sorry, I did not know that. Maybe they didn't know that it was offensive for Muslims. Maybe if people correctly bring it out, they can change it.

I love the palace politics here. They actually different groups wanting different things and working on it properly. Only if they had focused on this more from the earlier episodes.
Consort Kang, I need to see her getting betrayed and dying in a pathetic way. I cannot bear her anymore. Also she went to the prison, killed the servant, how does that not count as evidence. What more evidence do they need? I really hope the makers show this in the next episode.

Finally ep 10 had something different. We saw some progress in romance as well as action part. Thank God. Hopefully last 2 episodes will be able to wrap up everything nicely.

Maybe. I have just read the ending of the novel. But when novels are adapted to dramas, generally some changes are made, especially if there is romance, its strengthened. But they did not do that, so as someone who would really have loved more of the leads chemistry, its a little disheartening.

I see very less chances of that, but no harm to hope! I actually really wanted more of Yoona and Chae-Min's chemistry. They look so nice together.

Yes. She would fall for him too, but it would be too late by then. So we would be kept away from nice moments between the two leads. That's sad, I think a little more emphasis on romance and a little less emphasis on food would have worked better.

The romance is important. But it has been sidelined. I ain't against the cooking or romance. The makers and editors should have done a better job in having a perfect balance, that's what I think. The cooking parts are really nice, the comedy is great. I like it. But the romance has not been shown that much. In today's episode it was hardly 10-12 minutes. In the last episode there was nothing.
This should have been a 16 episodes show, or otherwise it should have made only one thing its focus. All the remaining things can end up in chaos at the end, which I really don't want for this amazing show!
