I heard some people say that Mueang Nan has a love interest with his step-brother, so maybe your theory is better. The Papang guy is probably Mueang Nan's love interest. Unless, the Papang guy is both. Hahah. Mueang Nan will start paying attention to Pi more but not for the reason he wants.. That is kind of a sad storyline..

Yes! This type of comedy is brand new in the BL world. I wish more people would appreciate that part of this show instead of writing it off as cringey or cliche. Because while there are still cliches, like you say, the direction is very new! I am laughing the whole time.

I think the guy confessing to Pi is the guy named Papang listed in the cast. Even though the guy has the little pin that Pi gave to Mueang Nan, the face shape of the person did not look like Mueang Nan at all. Plus Mueang Nan would probably not do that to his friend Mork. If you look at the part where it shows the side of the guys face, I think the face shape of this Papang guy looks similar. So I definitely think that's him.

I finally decided to read the book. I finished it in 24 hours (started it at night and then finished the next day), and it is so much shorter than the series. Maybe it's an 8-9 hour read. Like, I am surprised but not surprised by how much GMM added to the story.

Some of the things they added I adore and other things I feel more neutral about. Sotus will always be one of my favs though.

Well maybe, but if he didn't make it (which he didn't know if he would when he gave up the opportunity), he would have just thrown away his dream. That's why I call it dumb, and really giving up any great opportunity is dumb. They just wanted to make the show unrealistically romantic. But we can agree to disagree.

I agree that the great majority of the time it's used it's out of homophobia. More, I was just crediting that maybe the very first person who used that phrase in BL was not thinking that way. Its popularization is rooted in homophobia though, I agree.

I totally get what bothers you about TT or this show or BL in general. If all gay people were like Type, this world would be a disaster. Oml.

The heteronormativity that moves into gay relationships as well is just a sad effect of societal norms. This may be going too deep, but everyone is guilty of it. Anyone can be a misogynist. Women can be, lesbians can be, gay men can be. Even American female rappers who claim to be supporting women (which they are -- i feel very supported lol), rap about how they need men to pay for things. There are songs about not wanting scrubs and etc, but no one expects that of women. As long as these roles are thought of as definite and "matters of fact" and not things that can be fluid, I feel like queer relationships will continue to be affected just because everyone is affected by these ideas no matter their gender or sexuality. Anyone who is thought of as feminine or masculine will have these expectations. It's why some people refer to gay men as girls.

I definitely agree with you about TT. It is probably one of the most problematic BLs ever, but I feel like there is a certain comedy to TT. The fact that Type is super homophobic and says, "I will never sleep with you" and all of that stuff yet goes against every single thing he says seems like some type of power play by the writer. I don't know if they did it on purpose, but it is genius. It's like Type invalidates all of his own feelings himself. No need for LGBT community or anyone to butt in.

Sometimes I wish that all the sexual assault and rape trauma stuff didn't bother me so much so I could enjoy the sheer ridiculousness of that show. It is on par with BohnDuen from My Engineer. Maybe I will try in a year or two..

I agree with you there. Some people don't believe things are changing, but I do even if they're ever so slowly. I'm always up for throwing the homophobia away! I think other people just love their tropes too much. Like you said earlier, rewatching Sotus, I do that one often. Hahahah. Right now I am rewatching My Engineer.

When I said fantasy vs reality, more than anything I was referring to people who hate all or most of BL. I know you are not a big fan of Y-Destiny either, and you might have dropped it? But there was someone on there talking about how shows like Y-Destiny are just fanservice (i agree with that) and how all shows like that are fetishizing gay men and the only purpose is to see two men have sexual tension and all that stuff. Therefore most BL is toxic and horrible and only causes harm to the LGBT community. I just find people with those outlooks kind of ironic. Y-Destiny does not provide any substance to anything, that's for sure. But getting upset about shorts of boyxboy couples doing fanservice.. I mean, what about gay films that are practically softcore porn? Those are written by gay men, but are they fetishizing gay men? I think that person doesn't have any problem with those movies. I feel like the stories are just to enjoy the fantasy for a short time. Is it really that detrimental? I don't know. I don't think so.

Yeah. The way the phrase is used all of the time now is because of homophobia or maybe it's less of homophobia, and producers and writers just want to live up to the status quo of what people expect. That way they can make money.

I feel like it'd be cool if a show showed progression of someone going from "I don't men, just you" to realizing they are some other non-straight sexuality. BL doesn't have that type of self-awareness though. Lol.

That's pretty awesome that you went to the UK by yourself, I'm assuming, when you were 18. I can relate to the feeling of wanting to leave everything. I love living in a dorm on campus, and I slightly dread going back home. I hope it's all going well for you.

Really Duen and Bohn for me are one of the weirdest and funniest BL couples. I can't help but to think of the last episodes where Bohn keeps acting upset and making drama out of nowhere just for the fun of it.. Like wtf. Can't wait till I get to it. Lmao.

Their relationship is not rational at all, but they can't help but to be drawn to each other, and I can't help but to keep watching. I really think they are old souls who are meant to be together for eternity. They are so ridiculous that I can't see anyone putting up with either Bohn or Duen except Duen and Bohn. They act like they hate each other when they actually like each other.. even when they're already in an established relationship.. Ahh. BohnDuen. What are we gonna do with you? Season 2 should show them getting married. I feel like they were married from the moment the met, and I understand why the writer made them the main couple.
