I know all about the BL industry.. I am a fujoshi and a BL fan for a long time. I imagine you are probably watching CIWYW right now. So am I.

Of course there is fetisation, hetereonotmativity, and etc. But straight women write straight romantic novels about men raping women and then the women falling in love with them. It's the same thing! People read those because they want to read a woman and a man just like how I watch this because I want to see a man and a man..


BL has its problems with "I don't like men, just you" and wife and husband and stuff.. but that is just the BL industry. Not all shows only have straight characters. Not all shows glaze over the difficulties of coming out. All BL does not use these tropes. BL is still a happy fantasy world, yes. It's not realistic, but are Kdramas realistic?

And you say there are not many gay films. I have watched over 100 gay films!! I do not know what your qualifications of "normal" is when you call 50 Shades of Gray normal. I feel like you are just calling it normal because it's straight. There were many people against that movie as well.

Also I do not see the difference between this BL and other BLs. It gives into fans desires? So do all the fanmeets. BL industry is like the Kpop industry in that way. I admit that fan culture may be the most disgusting thing about the BL industry. That sets it apart from other industries, and is a definite problem.. Fan culture has to be fixed, but we can't get rid of fans or there'd be no audience to consume BL.

If you do not like the BL industry, that is fine. I understand. It's just, I find your comment a little weird because many genres take ideas and distort them and twist them into the most entertaining story. I don't think anyone actually believes BL is real life. It is supposed to be a fantasy. That's the point.

I don't know how much BL has harmed or helped the queer community, but I hope it helped more than harmed, and the BL industry soon will become more open with gay actors and more gay storylines as well.. As you can see.. many BLs are about actual gay characters, not just straight ones. I always belive things change, and It Will Get Better.

I didn't expect the first episode to be so drama-like! Other things I have seen about gay fathers haven't been as well written. There is lots of entertainment value. I am looking forward to the rest! I like all the characters and the plot. It's sweet and seems to be a real family drama.

I mean, have you seen Japanese pink films? I want to see what you think about Bad Buddy Butt and The Ultimate Masturbation (yes, that's a real Japanese movie). There is even the American show called "The Lair" which someone introduced to me. Every other second it shows gay vampires having sex in a night club.

Yes! How sad it would be if Mueang Nan likes Pi but gives up because he thinks Mork and Pi are already a thing.. My heart will be so sad.

Sorry to butt in as a straight girl here. I feel like queer people are being used for sexual fantasies here, but what is the difference if gay men make a film with a bunch of naked gay men that's close to softcore porn and if a woman writes a series about two men's sexually charged encounters? I feel like there is no difference. In both situations, it's sexual or "fanservice" content, but just because its queer people instead of straight people, is there something wrong with that? I feel like nobody would make this argument about 50 Shades of Gray or Magic Mike. There is tons of sexual entertainment out there. It doesn't really matter what the sexuality of the characters are.

For me Nat and Max is such a great couple! I love their story. It's like a pure love story. I don't know if I will like any of the other stories as much as theirs. I am a big Talay fan, and I love Perth as well, so maybe that one, but I think the second story will be hard to beat!

Nat and Max need their own series. Sometimes I wish I was rich. If I was, I would finance that project where they're the main characters already... hahahah.

I'm glad that I have known Neo since the airing of his first series. Seeing him as an important character in Fish Upon The Sky just makes me want to see him even more. I wish you luck in your acting career!!!

I think Pi's character is similar to Gene's in Lovely Writer. You could classify both of them as "crazy dork"s. Hah.

I don't know if you ever seen My Dear Loser: Edge of 17 that stars Pluem and Chimon as a side couple, couple name: InSun. But the main character concept of Pi is similar to the MC in that show as well.

I quite like these crazy characters.

I wish that he kissed Mueang Nan instead.. I am so disappointed with the lame plot device as well. D:

I enjoyed episode 3 a lot. I actually enjoy the comedy more than the romance. I like Duean and Meen so much. Neo is a great actor.

And I know I can't be the only one who wished Pi kissed Mueang Nan and not Mork. I don't really feel the chemistry between Pi and Mork that much. I felt it the first episode, but not anymore. Am I gonna get second lead syndrome like in Kdramas?! Lol.

It'll be sad to see this series go..

Such a good show. In this episode I really thought Gene saying to Aoey, "You're really gay?!" was funny, and Tiffy thought Tum was gay this whole time.. Hahahah. Grab your chance girl. I think this show is really good. I always feel the love between Gene and Nubsib, and I like the liberty they are giving to coming out scenes and acceptance from parents.

I also really like Aoey from this episode, and I was even feeling when he was getting all over Gene. It made me feel Up and Bruce wouldn't make a bad couple in a series.

Also, I really like the actor Poppy who plays Jab. I really want him in more roles. He always just plays cool supporting roles, but I want him to get a bigger project. Goodluck to him. He is so excellent in YYY. I'd definitely watch a role like that again.

Later if I have nothing to watch, I might watch because I really like Jason or Gu Jiacheng in Dive. He is really handsome and is a good actor in Dive. I don't know much about him though.

Poy in interviews is so attractive. He has a very interesting personality and makes me laugh a lot. In My Engineer, always seeing his stubble I always just stared at it thinking it is not that appealing, but now I actually find it very attractive. I definitely need to watch My Engineer to analyze his character again.

I hope he gets more projects outside of My Engineer soon; I will watch!

You know, I just started watching this again and it is not that bad. I really had something against Yoon and Talay as a couple just because I am a diehard RamKing stan. It prevented me from watching this (I finished first YYY long ago). I realize I shouldn't feel that way. I think recently because Yoon is Talay's present partner in Y-Destiny while Perth is the past partner and Yoon has a bit with Talay (without Perth) in Close Friend, it hurt my feelings. It really made me start feeling hostility towards people that I should not feel. Watching this made me think about it and realize how dumb and stupid those feelings are. And anyways, I will get RamKing in My Engineer 2, so I should calm down!! Hahahah.

What you said works if BL to bromance adaptation never got popular in the first place. But if it dies off, companies will assume people lost interest in both real and fake BL. UNLESS the Chinese fans avidly boycott saying, "We want real boyxboy romance." That one works. It works that way. I see that one.

Hmm. I had to think about what you said a lot. In my opinion, BL to bromance adaptations gives a potential channel for change. It also makes Chinese entertainment companies realize BL's value even if they are tweaking the romance.

The only way I could see your theory working is if Chinese BL fans refused to watch all bromance adaptations so then instead Taiwan took all the projects up making full blown actual BL. Then China would see that Taiwan is taking away its potential profits. However, unless something like that happens, if no one pays attention to "fake" BLs, China has no reason to care about real BL either. Demand for fake BL shows that there is demand for the real one.. If fake ones die off due to lack of demand, there is nothing proving possible profits. And then China would have even less reason to change.
