Amazingly well done slice of life drama. The showcase of the culture and foods made it interesting to watch despite the uneventful daily life theme of this kind of genre. The characters are also believable and their subtle facial expressions are genius. The story conveys strong message of love and friendship.
Nothing is clearly said but : 1.- Sumire has an unrequited love for Kenta. But Kenta seems in love with Kiyo.…
Yup there's anime but the style is different than the drama. This is the fist time I feel live action is too much greater than it's anime (usually on par or worst)
The version available online is split into 2 parts....just for the info
About this drama: Watch it if you like jidaigeki and samurai drama around Edo period. It has less politics, more on samurai code of conducts added with emotional dramas. Some jidaigeki classic shots are also there as a bonus for the jidaigeki fan.
Only watched this now, after long finished the series. Felt a bit lost at the beginning when I was trying to recall the characters backstory and motivation. Nonetheless I could still follow through and find it was still entertaining although not as engaging and gripping as the S1. I only wish the duration was shorter.
Interesting premise and was fun during the early few episodes. But somewhere in the middle it started to become draggy with many twist that mostly didn't impress me. Last episode was super draggy and a bit preachy.

1. Lack of feeling of passage of time. The scenes between days or months of traveling were made continuous as they were happened right after the previous. 2. The drama didn't focus much on war with many war events were skipped via a quick narration. 3. The MC developed from a hero to anti-hero to villain. In other anti-hero dramas, writers will try to rationalize the anti-hero actions of the MC, however not in this one. I guess it would be hard to swallow the villainy actions after you have been rooting for the MC all those while. 4. Ending was kind of make you think and opened for viewers interpretation however might be the best for this kind of MC.
Quite a good taiga drama production with fresh style of filming and writing. Many good shots that's worth the wallpaper of your PC. I haven't watched Seiten but I think Kamakura13 has the most beautiful cinematography I have seen in NHK Taiga drama. The costumes were also good and authentic without unnecessarily include modern elements and weird colors like what they did in Kirin.
Story-wise, 2/3 of the drama was a bit chill and lax with many comedic moments and family stuffs. However the last 1/3 was surprisingly darker and intense with lots of political scheming. This drama also has new interpretation on the famous Hojo Masako and Yoshitsune characters.
Finished it some time ago. It was such a relaxing and chilling drama despite the mystery hint in the synopsis. More on slice-of-life than a mystery to be exact, but it's not boring as there were some ups and down in the story. Each episode featured different artist/singer performing/lipsyncing the "live version" of their song.
This drama in a nutshell: When you think you're already a worst person just to find out there's someone 1000x worst than you....haha
This drama was weird at the beginning but it turned into a fun, manzai-style bantering after the second half. Last episode was kind of draggy but overall it was a good watch.
Ur comment is making me not to watch this just yet. Do u have recommendation for good courtroom drama?
Sorry for my late reply. I am not into law dramas, but I liked Legal High, Hero (2001), Majo Saiban, 99.9 Keiji Senmon Bengoshi, Good Partner (Jdrama) and the recent Ishiko to Haneo.
Non law dramas with extended courtroom scenes that I have watched and liked: Smile Innocent Days Shiroi Kyoto Watashitachi no Kyokasho Saka no Tochu no Ie
I guess the movie version is better but this is still watchable and it has more stories on the scouted girls. Fanservice isn't that much despite having Asami Yuma and Nishino Sho in the drama, if that matters...LoL
I liked this better than the first one as the story felt more developed without much waste on telling the backstory of the main characters. The action part was also good especially in the warehouse towards the end.
Ah i haven't read the manga, but isn't it Josei manga? from the synopsis, the story in this drama is focusing…
Oh yeah speaking of relationship, this drama didn't provide a good one too. It's too one sided with shameless FL thinking that she will be destined with ML from day 1. The love didn't develop naturally and the male characters were too conveniently fulfilling FL's mindset. There are tons of dramas out there with better characterization and believable relationship...
