Not bad and very addictive you would feel like want to watch all episode in one go. The plot was predictable and…
Oh I forgot to write about Mitsushima Hikari. I think her character in this is a copy paste from Gomen ne Seishun...but less tsundere. I guess this character is interesting especially her curiosity and always asking question attitude...lol
Not bad and very addictive you would feel like want to watch all episode in one go. The plot was predictable and cliché as far as the sport theme goes, but it's the kind of "necessary cliché" I would say...LoL
The makeup artist deserves a mention because he/she made all the actress look gorgeous especially Uchida Yuki...I think she looked 20 years younger in this one...haha
KimuTaku cliché-ness was boring and cringey as hell howver. I was hoping a support position kind of Main Lead role for him, but still KimuTaku drama always be KimuTaku drama, with all the stereotype around his character. Luckily I haven't watched some of his recent years drama so I managed to close an eye on this one.
I don't know anything about boxing, but I guess they did a good job for school level kind of boxing. It wasn't the main focus anyway. Like I said above it was more of a KimuTaku drama...so as long as KimuTaku look cool and stylish...haha. But seriously nothing to expect about the boxing technicality, as these guys were weak to begin with and their target/objective was only to beat other school next door.
Overall I rate this 8/10 for its entertainment value.
It was not as bad. The main plot was well written in my opinion. At least the writer stick with logic/common sense throughout the series and there were clear motivations behind the characters actions. It was not as flashy as what depicted in the trailer definitely, but the story was intriguing enough that you would want to know more at the end of every episode. I'm saying this as a person who have watched several other detective/mystery dramas back to back prior to watching this one...namely Spec Saga, Ishi no Mayu until Jashin no Tenbin, Keizoku+SP+Movie (rewatch)
Although I do admit that there were some downsides especially the portrayal of police and MPD Div. 1 in this was questionable and at times laughable. The police office also felt like a small-enterprise than a metropolitan headquarters..LoL Some of the latter half episodes also felt a bit draggy.
As long as you can close an eye on those flaws and stop obsessing with "crime coordinator solving unsolved cases" as written in synopsis, this drama is more than good for a binge-watch.
Saito Kazuyoshi only uploaded the music video of the theme song on his YT channel last month (Jun2022)...which is like 8 years after the drama?? LoL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQt1_kmvrKo
Quite satisfying spin-off if you're following the main series. The mystery was better than the "Butterfly" in my opinion, although the pace in this one was very slow to the point it might not for everyone taste. The super serious dialogues could also make you fall asleep along the way if you watched this after a hectic day.
This is however would be an interesting watch to those who know Takano's character from the previous series. In here we got to see his struggle in adapting to Public Security department as well as the peculiarity of the people in this department. These were the main focus during the first half of the series, which could be misunderstood as draggy by certain viewers.
The mystery in this spin-off will also eventually solves the incidents involving Takano's previous partner, which is a strong reason why you would want to watch this. Overall I rate this 8/10.
If you wonder if you need to watch the previous one before this, the answer is yes. It would be nice to have watched all 3 seasons to understand the character, sentiment among normal policemen about Public Security department, as well as the motivation of the main character.
So an alternative title would be "Value of Elegance"?
Haha just watrched Nanba MG5 the other day where "Atai" used by the Yankee Girls in some of the episodes. 私 can be read Watakushi, Watashi, Washi, Atashi, Atai at the same time as far as I know
Watching this the 2nd time after many years and have been watched SPEC and Sick's along the way makes me feel that this movie was quite satisfyingly close the 1st Keizoku series. I remembered I wasn't that convinced and confused as hell the first time I watched it...but now after gotten familiarized with the style of the production, I must say this movie was nicely done.
Hello! I'm new to j-dramas (I've only seen anime adaptations tbh) so if you have recommendations of good mystery/investigation…
Mystery only no investigation: Iribito Influence Samayou Yaiba Saka no Tochu no Ie Zekkyou Earie Mienai Kao Kokuchou no Mizuumi Saiai Wanitokakegisu
Mystery with a bit investigation: Anata no Ban Desu Shinhannin Flag Atami no Sousakan Keizoku 2 SPEC series Yami no Bansosha
Investigation to solve mystery: Mystery to Iunakare Subete ga F ni Naru Galileo series Ishi no Mayu Saishou no Kodou Aku no Hado Kagi no Kakatta Heya Trick series Mozu series Mutsu Mieru Me Namonaki Doku Keizoku
I might have missed some dramas, but these are what I can remember at the moment
Rewatched this drama recently because I felt like I have missed something after watching SICK's series. It seemed like a lot of references in the new series were taken from this first season instead of SPEC.
This was such a fun, high school yankee drama with strong values of friendship and family. It was also very entertaining that I had to marathon all episodes in one go. Perfect for watching with friends and family.
The writing was a bit disappointing. There's some problem with the logic of the case and the crime motivation. The production style suddenly changed from the previous 2 series, especially on lighting which in this one is more closer to the Aku no Hado's style. This series also reminds me of why I don't like Kimura Fumino's acting....haha
But don't worry, it's still worth your time if you have been following the whole series. So don't hesitate to watch this one!
I find the case in this second series is more intriguing than the first one...but as a whole the first series was a bit better in terms of entertainment value IMO.
This is just didn't work for me probably because of its almost independent, sub-episodic format within the main episode...although like some person has mentioned below, it did pick up after Ep4. I also find it hard to be watched back to back. And the story-line felt like it's geared towards younger female audience, so other demographic (at least me) might not find this as intriguing unless you're fans of the actors.
Not a fan of Fukuda Yuichi style of comedy but I totally enjoyed this drama! I guess the fun, and cuteness of the plot has made up for it. It has also more positive vibe considering this kind of story could be stressful and a bit "toxic" according to nowadays definition.
Also, this drama has less adlib (thank god Sato Jiro only appeared in Ep1) and less "lengthy line kind of jokes" unlike in his other dramas, so I had my good time laughing at most of the comedies. Loved the many pop-cultural references too.
