Not bad. Very fun and entertaining movie. It was the typical work drama, but the kind that you will never get tired of and it could give inspiration to anyone who is just to enter work-life and fresh college graduates who are hating their jobs.
So, i'm here to whine. 1st episode in kinda ok, a bit dumb moment like why the hell the spotter didn't inform…
The one in Ep1 wasn't the criminal. He was the supposed "informer" to Ayano Go. The team went to save him (the informer) after the kidnapper close the curtain, remember? I imagine they (informer and kidnapper) got out of building during this time.
Suzu was there just for marketing. The drama actually feels like it was made for Ichikawa Ebizo's fan only. Quite boring the way they presented it to be honest, although they didn't skew much from the history.
He was probably killed by another Public Safety officer to conceal his identity as we have been given the clue…
Exactly...I wish for a clear closure too. In my opinion the deduction by Sara (on the Saito incident) was too speculative and he didn't have proof to back his claim. But the way Noma-san reacted at the end (by saying Sara passed the test) was left us for another speculation...haha
no but who the f killed Saito... how dare they not answer that question lol
He was probably killed by another Public Safety officer to conceal his identity as we have been given the clue that he carried automatic gun (instead of revolver that normally used by the crime detective) and the killer took it from the scene. It's just my wild guess though.
what did you think about this final ? -------------------------------------------------I liked this ending but…
The ending is a bit disappointing. I was hoping Sugano would be stabbed by the taxi driver not the other way round. After he did all those crimes he did not feel guilty at all. 15 years of jail was not a justified punishment for this kid.
Makoto isn't punished because he's cooperating with police IMO. They could have made some deal beforehand.
Because the story is about the Shinsengumi with a touch of fantasy.
Oh okay...I didn't watch the anime or read the manga...thanks for giving the clue of the gender-bender though...still I can't take it as male-centered because of the "reverse-harem" tag....in simplicity male-centered should be something male viewer would feel proud of...something that will give them a sense of masculinity...it should be something like "female empowerment" but focuses around male...
To make things clear I have nothing against this drama. In my top comment above I was referring to the slightly misleading description of "male centered plot" tag in MDL.
Btw I know what Shinsengumi is although I didn't learn about them from this series
Not so engaging as compared to AnaBan and the MC got on my nerves too....will still watch S2 though to know the ending...entertainment value for S1 is around 8/10
Because the story is about the Shinsengumi with a touch of fantasy.
Like if a Male Lead time slips to Yoshiwara (Edo's brothel) you won't say the story is female centered plot just because it revolves around female characters of the brothel...if you know what I mean
If only I could find a historical text dealing with this. I have a novel in Chinese translation that includes…
If you mean books, I'm sure history enthusiasts can recommend some...but for the summary of history of Japan, wikipedia might be enough (while not reliable) for the rest of us.
I guess the era that this drama is based of is quite well known and have been adapted into many other dramas too, which is the transition between Toyotomi to Tokugawa reigns in Japanese history. The only difference is Sanada Yukimura as the main role and thus his perspective.
Do you know where I can watch this series English subbed?
There's torrent for the RAW videos: https://nyaa.si/view/1191482 Then you have to download the english sub separately from d-addicts (link included in the torrent page).
I watched the low definition with indo hardsubbed on youtube sometime ago...but the sub was bad that i had to download the video and overlay english sub on top of it.
Even though this is yet another Sengoku drama that spans over the three reigns of Oda-Toyotomi-Tokugawa, it has…
What I like: 1. Solid drama that focuses on husband-wife relationship in the medieval Japan time settings. 2. Surprisingly featuring many historical figures even though for a brief moment only. 3. More stories and plots for Toyotomi Hidetsugu. This historical character always got overlooked on other dramas 4. Gives justice to Ishida Mitsunari's character. 5. The only drama that talks about Tosa domain takeover and the conflicts around it after Sekigahara Battle.
What I don't like: 1. Last episode was a bit draggy with bad and forceful writing on the main character (Chiyo) involvement over "Ieyasu vs Chacha/Toyotomi" conflict 2. The main character, Chiyo's intelligent was a bit over the top at times and the writer seemed like confused her intelligent with fortune telling ability....LoL 3. Similarly the husband, Kazutoyo's dumbness was over the top at times. 4. Minor mistakes on the name usage in the dialogues. For example, there was 1 scene (fortunately insignificant one) addressing Hideyoshi as Hashiba although he hasn't changed his surname (from Kinoshita to Hashiba) yet at that moment.
Even though this is yet another Sengoku drama that spans over the three reigns of Oda-Toyotomi-Tokugawa, it has few things (stories/characters/trivia) that are not told in other dramas. If you love Japanese history you may want to consider watching this. What I like and don't like about this drama in the comment below.
watch this years taiga while waiting for next years?
haha that's what I usually do...but the sub for this year taiga is still far behind...I afraid it will only finish when Kamakura Dono finished airing...lol
BTW, out of curiosity here's my quick googling on male centered definition
