He is using a known extreme treatment called 'aversion therapy' for Apaths. You shock yourself whenever you see blood (for example what he was doing) so that when he sees blood in reality, it makes him SICK. He legit feels that he is an Apath (a monster), but clearly doesn't want to hurt people, so he is basically torturing himself with this crazy extreme treatment to make himself ill whenever he's around blood.

It is up to you the viewer to decide if he is an Apath or not. That is part of the story.

I would like to point out....go to end of ep6 and listen to the show in background as LWX is going through his master's journal. The genetic test of genes for Apaths is only 99% accurate. What about that 1%? Are they geniuses? Do they have emotions unlike 'true' Apaths? Could Pei Su be part of this 1%?

Actors pull their emotions from their own life experiences. Maybe he was indeed thinking of his wife ;) Both definitely have shown that they can act very well.

Honestly, I was crying so much I had to pause the episode to collect myself before continuing. Poor Xiao Wu! The girl who lost her father just took a father from another poor family. UGH! Clearly they are conveying that your own decisions/actions determine what kind of person you are....whether that is evil or good.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did. It lets everyone know that something was deleted from the screen ;D It feels almost like a passive aggressive response to the censorship by leaving the "four" in place :D

His phone showed he got 4 messages, but one was edited out. Here they are in the correct order before censorship made them remove the third one:

That rough transition between ep25 and ep26 made it so obvious something was cut. And thanks to other posters who shared some bts from deleted scenes.... c'mon! It wasn't even necessary to be removed. 🙄🙄🙄 Imma in a mood today. Let just remove all instances of caring between all humans in series....don't want to show too much caring toward fellow humans. God(s) forbid we all care MORE about one another 🙄🙄🙄

They all came out at different times. For the time they came out, they were each WOW. Guardian basically slammed into the scene as a surprise for BL lovers, even with a tiny budget. WOH had two characters with dark pasts and was able to get away with more hugs and touching than any chinese BL before (despite less money during 2nd half). JITD got cancelled....but is now airing OUTSIDE china. It gets the spotlight now. They are all really good dramas and I'd recommend them all :) I think what makes them so good is the casting of the two ML and the chemistry the two actors were able to have, and the passion of the whole team (writers/directors/crew) for going full in (with what they had) and making something special.

If you that thirsty, you could probably find some fanfic that has juicier depictions of scenes-in-between-the-scenes 😂😂😂

Exactly. The focus is more on the JOURNEY, not the destination. It is a nice slow burn.

Guys guys....ep 21 just when Pei Su stood up after Luo told him he knew all about the basement. There is a painting on wall behind him of a dark forest....but with a RAINBOW down the center. I mean C'MON!!!! So obvious!!!! <3 <3 <3
